    I have the G73jh and GTA played well, and then i applied this latest patch and now matter what i choose it plays like crap, i uninstalled the game and reinstalled with the retail cd's but it reapplied the patch.

    So can this game be installed without the patch or will it always force you to apply the patch

    It will only force the patch if you log into windows live. I am using the patch before the latest patch and it runs better.

    GTA4, just continues to be the biggest travesty in PC gaming... Goddamit.

    Rockstar needs to hire a small army of coders to fix the performance problems with this title. Why do they keep doing this?

    It won't force it, you will have a choice but you won't be able to play Multiplayer without the latest patch. You can always run 2 different versions if you must.

    Both have already had updates not long after release.

    Can't wait to see how bad Red Dead Redemption will be, If they bring it to PC. Unless they didn't make it and i got them mixed up :confused:
