It was not the graphics but the "I average at 32fps on lowest settings" thing that I was more reacting to. I had that once in a game on my old computer and I simply waited for this new one to play it. Also, my PC is in my signature.
That I didn't think about. Theoretically it should not do that, because what I was capable of seeing was almost nothing (just darkness), unless it's rendering a whole lot of stuff outside of my field of view, in which case it's about as unoptimized as Bohemia Interactive's engines. -
I lived with a 460gtx for 4 years.. "30fps at high settings" was the norm for all of my games. And it is the norm for playing gta5 on last gen and current gen systems. Seems pretty acceptable to me.
The under water areas may be optimized, I havn't spent enough time down there though. Does not seem like anyone else has rung any bells since it seems like a huge departure from the air breathing side. -
I think you mean unoptimized XD.
It's a very small section of the underwater areas that devours my FPS so greatly. It is an instant drop, and will remain for as long as I am there, but then I move on and my FPS goes well into the 50s. Underwater is much more demanding than above water; I'll go from like 80fps to 50, but those 10-35fps areas are annoying. And it's more annoying because of the microstutter that SLI brings at those FPSes. If I was on single GPU I wouldn't have minded much. -

I think that sub is the reason for those underwater FPS dips. At least that's the only time I experience those.

GTAV Title Update 1.27 Notes (PS4/Xbox One/PS3/Xbox 360/PC)
The list of additions and fixes is huge so Ive provided the link. The download size was over 800MB. -
Yeah I saw that, but too busy with NEO Scavenger to try it XD

I gave it another try, on my new notebook so no lag finally, with Realistic Driving / Handling mod. Driving is still unsatisfactory, so is car damage, and moreover that there simply ain't enough traffic on country roads on max traffic setting! This game is so dull, compared to GTA IV/EFLC with Killatomate's and some other mods. The only thing that GTA IV lacked - in my opinion - was huge diversified map. It's there in GTA V, but all the fun went away. =(
-
I don't know if I am imagining this ore not but I think there was a lot more traffic after one of the recent patches.Starlight5 likes this. -
Obviously its not going to be much traffic on the country roads unless you're near the highways. GTAIV was boring after you beat the storyline missions because it really wasnt much to do after that. At least with V there was still a lot of things to do after you beat the game and discovering new things.

KING19, you didn't play San Andreas back in the day, did you?

For me GTA SA felt a bit over the top, with all that Sims crap.
Comparing GTA SA to GTA V, I think the latter is more balanced, although story could have been a bit longer.
Anyway, I reinstalled the game on my new PC and spent a few hours online. So much fun! Especially once you level up a bit and buy some stuff. Thought about replaying the story mode, but I left it barely touched, online mode takes all of my GTA V time.
I do get a lot of crashes now for some reason. Especially annoying when it happens in missions/heists. In all my time I've spent playing GTA V on my retired M60J with 240M I only had one crash. I updated DX11, for now seems stable, though it's still too early too judge (only played for a couple of hours afterwards).Starlight5 likes this. -

killkenny1, wait, you did launch it on GT240M? How was the framerate?
-
Ofc i played it, a lot but we're talking about the difference between GTAIV and V.
IV has a lot of missing features that made GTASA great but still it was a fun game especially with EFLC. V is better than IV by far, the only thing that made IV great was the storyline and how deep it was. EFLC made the gameplay in GTAIV much better. -

Pretty good actually. Don't remember exact FPS or settings, just that I had to switch it to DX 10, but it ran great otherwise. Few performance hitches I had was that uphill area with houses.
FPS would sink and stutter, and during day changes (dusk/dawn) I would also get some stutters. I actually had had some settings put on high lol, in the areas where it ran great it it so afterwards or without much big of a difference, but in those troubled areas I mentioned above it became a bit worse.where Lester buys Franklin a house a bit later in the game -
that, to me, would not be playble - at all!

It would be playable to you if you had the 240M for five+ years.be77solo, hfm, Starlight5 and 1 other person like this. -
Ouch, even current intel IGPUs are stronger than that card now.
I tried playing GTA V with my intel HD4600 and its actually playable on minimum settings, just over 35FPS+ i think, But it makes the game look ugly and it reminds me when i used to game like that lol -

Turns out I used wrong handling mod. The mod by Killatomate, which I didn't google at first, is great and improves handling respectively. This is a major step forward, and now I can finally say I like the game. Visual damage problem remains, though. Hope it will be fixed someday.
