    OK, did quite a bit of testing. There is good new and bad news. The bad news is my 780M SLI still throttles like nobody's business overclocked. Basically, the driver is totally worthless for my purposes with respect to 780M SLI. The good news is, my 780M SLI does not throttle stock using this driver like it has with all other drivers after 345.20. And, Batman: Arkham Knight runs really well with this driver and uses SLI correctly. All of the flickering and artifacts are gone and I can play it with maxed out settings on 780M SLI or 980M SLI and there is a nice bump in framerate without having to use CPU PhysX or dedicate my secondary GPU to PhysX with SLI disabled.
    BatmanAK 353.38 CPU PhysX FPS.jpg

    For reasons stated above, I won't be able to provide any 3DMark 11 and Fire Strike results worthy of posting with this driver for 780M SLI. Maybe this weekend I will post some for 980M SLI.

    When you give up hope there is nothing left. There is no reason to have hope because the folks at NVIDIA seem to have all become retarded since February, but if I give up hope there will be no reason for me to be a gamer or overclocker any more. If the day comes that I cannot overclock any more, I will also lose all interest in gaming and cease to do both. I'm not ready to stop either of those things yet, as long my hardware is not crippled.

    The problem here is 100% driver induced. Whatever they introduced that causes it can be undone. If I knew what it was and how to fix it myself, I wouldn't care. Unfortunately, I don't know where to start, so I will keep on using old drivers. Seeing the huge swings in behavior with Batman: Arkham Knight with nothing changing but drivers, I am going to start experimenting with registry tweaks and NVIDIA Inspector mods comparing older drivers to the latest and see if there is something I can isolate. There has to be some way of circumventing what they have done, but I need to find it before I can break it. I hope I can because we can no longer trust NVIDIA to do the right thing by us.

    Yes, you should try it. It will probably be good.

    You'll need this. Download 353.38 driver and extract them. Download the zip file. Extract the files to the Display.Driver folder for the 353.38 drivers, overwriting all three of the original files with the same. You will need to reboot with Driver Signature Enforcement disabled for Windows 8 or newer prior to installing. Windows 7 users won't have to. Do not use DDU, just install it over your current drivers. INFs in the zip file support both Alienware and Clevo, with the following GPUs...

    Code:
    [Strings]
    DiskID1 = "NVIDIA Windows (64 bit) Driver Library Installation Disk 1"
    NVIDIA = "NVIDIA"
    NVIDIA_A = "NVIDIA"
    NVIDIA_DEV.1198 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M"
    NVIDIA_DEV.1199 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M"
    NVIDIA_DEV.119A = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M"
    NVIDIA_DEV.119F = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M"
    NVIDIA_DEV.11A0 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M"
    NVIDIA_DEV.11E0 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M"
    NVIDIA_DEV.11E1 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M"
    NVIDIA_DEV.11E3 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760M"
    NVIDIA_DEV.1211 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580M"
    NVIDIA_DEV.1212 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M"
    NVIDIA_DEV.13D7 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M"
    NVIDIA_DEV.13D8 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M"
    REG_BINARY = 0x00000001
    REG_DWORD = 0x00010001
    REG_EXPAND_SZ = 0x00020000
    REG_MULTI_SZ = 0x00010000

    Yep, no changes in performance for me with this driver. It's pretty much always the case though for my system, occasionally there are step changes in performance when they change something fundamental in the driver, but not for a long time now and otherwise they're always the same.

    At least my computer not freezing when I boot it up anymore and I can use both cards to play Witcher 3 now. I can finally move on from 350.12 . But then again I only messed around about an hour since installing the hot fix driver so time will tell. But so far so good . What happen to the good old days when nvidia would release a driver and they had a list of games and all the fps boost that it increased in those games . Now they struggle just to release a driver that works period and the only difference is the sli profile for the newest game.
    What's up with that.

    Well I'm back to 350.12 again.
    My laptop takes like forever to boot with hot fix driver and screen takes for ever to come on. And when it does come on my desktop it frozen for like a minute can't to anything . And when I can do something it act all funny and retarded like my computer is all messed up. This sucks. It kept freezing so much I didn't think it was going to work long enough to reinstall 350.12 .
    Now that I am back to 350.12 my computer works 100% perfect like the day I bought it.
    These new drivers past 350.12 are like installing a virus on my computer. I reinstall 350.12 and wala everything perfect again.
    I don't know what else to do other than wait for next driver and hope it works.

    I knew it was to good to be true.
    The hot fix 353.38 acts or behaves same as the three before it at least for me anyway.
    When I first installed driver and reboot my system it worked perfect . But every boot after that was like my computer was infected by a virus.
    Any way hope the next one works.
    Lol

    i haven't seen issues with the hotfix driver so far - no TDRs. maybe it has to do with the OS? or because you have SLI?

    I have 8.1 same as you unless you changed to 10 or something.
    And you might be right about sli.
    Either way they really jack up my laptop so I will wait for next one and try again.

    How has your 980m been working for you.?

    Whenever you download a new driver, does the file size add on to the existing gpu software and your hard drive, or does it replace the previous driver file size? Just wondering because I'm running out of memory. Same question but for when iPhone apps have new updates or when chrome and Firefox or even windows needs to update?

    Long story short, do updates take up more disk space or just replace what was there?

    Btw this driver is still making chrome lag

    Navigate to C:\NVIDIA.

    Delete all driver folders that you no longer need.

    The root problem is that NVIDIA just sucks any more. I cannot get my M18xR2 780M SLI to function correctly with any drivers released after 345.20. Every stinking driver this sorry outfit has released since then causes my 780M SLI to throttle like crazy. Using 345.20 and older drivers, it runs like a banshee.

    My 970m is refusing to enter P0 clocks after waking from suspend. It's stuck in adaptive power no matter what until I restart. :/

    What do you expect from a company which announced bucket of new features but put balls immediately after that? IMMEDIATELY!
    There were no MFAA for month after announcing or more. No GSYNC + SLI + DSR. They dropped DSR for soon after creating the announcement thread. After I asked mods to refresh with new info from 344.65 driver they did and dropped after that again.

    353.38 breaks video playback in VLC and Windows media player form me so went back to 350.12.

    EDIT: looks like it might be a VLC issue as the drivers didn't do anything different.
