what the heck? I added Morrowind for $5 to my cart, I was going to buy it with a few other things, now it's $15. It was only 15 minutes since I added it! I am hating Steam.

 

Ah god damnit, it never said anywhere that Counter Strike Source was a daily sale! It was 4.99 yesterday and now it's 14.99. I was going to buy it for a friend (he has no credit card), but I'm not sure if he'll still bite for 15.

Damnit Steam, why do you do this to people.... At least I picked up WiC for 9.99, and am downloading now.

It was a daily deal. Except they do that. It is still the daily deal price sometimes before and after the timer. Then when you go to check out it changes the price. Did that to me twice. I'm not happy.

 

It usually takes 15-20 minutes after the daily deal changes for the previous ones to revert to normal. Its your fault for waiting.

 

np guys, what's even more awesome on the mod there's an auto installer for the steam version just d/l'ed it.. now need to d/l stalker.

 

Wow thats sweet. Quick question, does the mod really tax the GPU? I only have a 230m (greaat card but obviously midrange). Wondering if its worth the performance hit.

I haven't gotten to test it out, but I'm betting you can change some settings? Not sure. I can assume it may be taxing since it has updated shaders like crysis..but textures I don't think will be bad, and higher res. The 230m may be able to handle it from the descriptions but I doubt everything will be up. meds is my guess.. but this is all guesswork.

Yes GTAIV can be gifted to anyone on steam, any region, just like any other steam gifts. as for if you can run it.. I dunno

I'm currently contemplating the Unreal Pack (is there still an good amount of active players for UT3 online?), Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, Braid, World of Goo, STALKER, Borderlands, Civ IV, Red Faction Guerrilla, and maybe some Tom Clancy games.

 

Be leary though. Add them to your cart, go to check out then the price jumps back up again. If you see it for a price you want buy it ASAP otherwise it may change.

most happy with Crysis max edition since I just got a gaming laptop that can play crysis and at $13 for both games.. winner winner chicken dinner.

already owned Torchlight, Mirror's Edge, CS:S, Dragon Age: Origins, L4D, Killing Floor and The Orange Box or else I would've gotten those this holiday sale as well.

 

Overall these were nice sales for me.

That brings the total number of games I own to 8.

 

I think it happened because the games you were buying went off the daily special before you actually purchased them... I know morrowwind was a daily special and is back up higher now. There a little lag from when the daily deal ended till when all the prices changed. I noticed this on the Command & Conquer games, took about 15 minutes after end of deal for the price to actually change.

Games I'm gonna pick up today are Fuel ($4.99), Jericho ($4.99), James Bond Quantum of Solace ($9.99), Chronicles of Riddick ($6.79), Pacific Storm Pack ($2.99), Ghostbusters ($6.79), Sniper Elite ($1.99)... And probably gonna break down and finally get Borderlands... was hoping for a daily deal, but have wanted it since launch...

As a side note, I HIGHLY recommend Defense Grid for $2.49, it's a fantastic game and an absolute steal at that price. Also, loved the Witcher, a great game for $13.59.

 

be77solo, if you're apart of any other gaming communities.. cheapassgamer is a great one, you might be able to get in on a 4-pack of Borderlands and split the cost making it $25 a game.

 

Yeah, Defense Grid is good. It gets frustrating with the last few levels though. I am considering Ghostbusters but don't know if its my type of game, but loved the movies.

The only thing i bought from this STEAM sale was Crysis pack. I am probably going to finish up today by buying Rainbow Six Vegas 2! Plus i can do co-op with my bro so i think i am making the right choice.

 

I'll probably pick up GTA4 to compliment the Crysis pack I got.

I have Shadow of Shernobyl but stopped playing it cause i would use the 360 gamepad. Now i have the Storm Sentinel Advance it may be a good idea to play now. SO if i get it and i beat shernobyl i will be able to play it right away.

my set up runs trine at max, native res, no AA. I heard AA kills the system with trine. It runs great on my comp.

oh you're asking a good set up as to what settings to use? If anything I would turn down effects and lower the res. No AA or AF.

I'm thinking of picking up Torchlight and Killing Floor, I'm already sold on Torchlight for 5 bucks but should I pick up Killing Floor? It's not that $3.75 is a lot of money but that it's I already have quite a number of games and I'm wondering whether it is a solid game overall?

It's a solid game. I got like 23 hours of enjoyment out of it at release and they've added two major updates for maps, guns and perks.. so it's good value. I just haven't played it in a few months since I got other games. If only it were sooner I'd send you a guest pass, but there's only 45 min til the sale's over.. sooo yeah haha

 

for those who got ghostbusters how is it?

 

Yeah, how is Ghostbusters. I considered that one too, but not sure if it's too gimmicky or not. Less than 20 mins left so hope I can hear back soon!
