What kind of performance are M17x R3 users getting? I'm finding I get about 40-60 FPS on the default "auto" settings.

when I max things out, I get a fairly low 20-30 - but it's playable. Needless to say I think I'll be playing on the balanced mode instead.

I'm curious to see what those auto-detect settings really are for the GTX 480M/ GTS 450. I really don't want to build a PC until Haswell comes out.

 

Wow I haven't posted on NBR for a while. So yeah erm... Aurora Glade would be the EU NBR server of choice and anyone here that wants to go there from any region can go ahead. As for the US server we are still deciding between Borlis Pass or Stormbluff however due to many circumstances, it may look like the US arm of a NBR guild might not come to fruition...

 

That doesn't make deciding more easy... I'll be playing on either Aurora Glade, Borlis Pass or Fort Aspenwood.

 

60 FPS capped as of today's stress test. 9150, i7 Extreme, SSD, 680m. Quite happy with the optimizations. That adaptive vsync is some glorious tech - really enjoying it.

The sign in errors are bothersome, but I'm not particularly worried. I also got a random password reset email after the stress test ended, which was weird. The support site is down though, so I think they're just messing about with the systems. If anyone else has these issues it would put my paranoia at ease

P.S. Oh, and HDMI out this game if you can, looks SWEET on a good tv. Plus it is rather controller friendly (just use motionjoy or Paragon). I have a loadout if anyone is a controllerphile like I am.

No US server for NBR eh.

I'm still leaning heavily towards the US Darkhaven server. I know during the beta, Darkhaven was a monster WvW server, but finding it difficult to find any confirmation on who will be there when the game goes live. Hoping some of my Rube friends will still be there, as well as a couple other gaming sites, and players I know from other games.

OK, found a better list. Looks like a lot of them left the server for launch. I'm going to have to do some browsing and see if I can recognize any of them.

Been working on my GW1 Hall of Monuments. I finally capped at 28 points. I can't even imagine getting the max 50 points.

 

Pretty hard to get if you haven't started playing around the time the first one was released and didn't grind to death at some point.

 

So I'm a little confused. Is/will there be an NBR clan?

i have to send off my NP8850 for an RMA, so i'll be missing the opening day.

 

Only seven hours left until the servers go live. I'll start out on Stormbluff since that seems to be the best NA choice for playing with fellow NBR members. Luckily transfers are free at launch so nothing's set in stone.

 

I think Star Forge was/is trying to recruit for that, and I don't know if they are EU or NA . Or both?

 

Aurora Glade will be the EU server, Deagleson and Vicious already headed there. I will be at stormbluff like Convel and my GW1 buddies. Star Forge stated that he'd either be at Stormbluff or Borlis Pass. Good thing that transfers are free at launch, thoughtful of ArenaNet to do that instead of being greedy.

 

Well this is highly against my normal character, but I just impulse-pre-purchased guildwars2! LOL. I don't even know anything about this game (but have been playing WoW on and off since 2005)

But i'd love to join you guys on the NA server you are choosing !

 

On an important note, you will be able to play with people from other servers as a guest on that server so you aren't prevented from accessing other servers, but there are some aspects of the game like WvWvW where servers will matter.

 

Starforge messaged me on Steam mentioning that he will likely play on Stormbluff Isles or Borlis Pass.

 

Are Stormbluff Isles/Borlis Pass US servers or EU servers?

 

Stormbluff is a US server, so is Borlis.

Aurora Glade is the server you want for EU.

 

Its US servers.

 

Just got word from Star Forge, he'll be on stormbluff.

I made a little Asura Thief.

But that is all i could do thus far was make my character, when I got to the part to name it, it wouldn't go.

 

Just managed to get through the cinematic, tutorial event isn't starting though which is normal, the servers officially go live in 2h30mins.

I was just disconnected. I made 2 characters on the US Storm Bluff Isles Server

Rickrogue /Asura /Thief. The Portal wasn't working right, no Golems were coming out, so made another toon
Rick Rogue /Sylvari/ Ranger. got to level 2, and was disconnected during a world event. Figured I'd take a break and see if anyone here was on the server.

Still downloading. Are there different server types? Are there Roleplaying servers?

 

There aren't any different server types, i'm thinking role players will eventually gather in one server though.

I just made the most Norn Warrior ever. I'm so ecstatic to finally see this game go live. Although I played in most of the betas, there's something great about finally having the finished product. After all these years of wondering what Guild Wars 2 would be like, it's finally here! I'm just a fan boy

Made an Human Elementalist... then switched to a Human Guardian.

Stormbluff Isles. Forie.

 

Made all 5 toons before the crash. Got some SWEET names too!!! Always pays to be the early bird. Shame about the server downtime at the moment. I skipped almost every bit of story in the BWEs and stress tests, and I'm rather surprised at how good it all is.

And yeah, I was pleasantly surprised to see the servers up so early. Good thing they were too as everything has since gone to the crapper

To the people in the EU Server, you can feel free to pick what your guild name and stuff is going to be. You can also establish [TRA] if you all want as an EU branch.

I think you get access on Monday. Pre-Purchasing Early Access is no longer possible. The Pre-Order Early Access is Monday.

 

The servers have been a tad flaky today so you won't have to deal with those issues monday hopefully. Note today, i had no lagg or other game breaking problems of the sort. Servers were down this morning though and guild invites as well as overflow weren't functioning as they should. It made it hard to meet up with people form NBR' but didn't prevent anyone from actually playing the game. About an hour and a half ago, it seemed to be working properly though as i was able to both meet Simon and Convel in game.

 

hey guys i have a problem....i just started today and my resolution is really bad, i mean, it see pixelated building. I had to click "Best for performance" so i can see the surrounding if not, i cant see anything at all. All i see i white page. Any ideass?
