Hahahah The only reason Farful mentioned this was because he doesn't like FPS much himself... and was wondering if TPS might be any different.

 

RFG is a fun game, not really an FPS or TPS. More of a GTA on an alien planet. Destroy anything and everything, lol.

LOL. Actually that location is not my real location. It's from the movie "A Christmas Story" which takes place there. I'm really in Detroit, but it's bitter cold here too.

 

Just updated the rules:

We will be opening up the gates to the the grand prize drawing here soon aka "Rudolph" to give everybody ample time to enter.

Im not so sure how to do it live, so probably record and post to youtube shortly after if we decide to do this.

We are both very busy fathers so its hard to sync up, but also I would love to host it on Mumble so people can hear me and wingnut announce the winners live and we can have some banter with the NBR crew.

I picked 555 before I saw that ..... I thought I was the only one not creative enough to pick a number but it seems like I was wrong

 

Is Osmos really that good? It looked boring to me so I didn't participate in the Osmos drawing. You're making me regret it!

 

It's fun. It does get difficult later though, and a bit frustrating.

I don't want to discourage people from entering, but I just don't want someone to enter to win it knowing they'll hate it, because they played it on a friends account, watched it, doesn't appeal to them at all, etc. I mean just to win it to win it. But whatever, up to you.

It's the type of game you'll probably spend a good five to six hours with and either get fed up or be able to finish it. I just wish they had a level builder or a way to reduce the difficulty later. It's definitely a game that will try your patience.

ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE DEC 22 MEGA STEAM GAME GIVEAWAY!

I was initially only going to give away a single game worth up to $50. But many contributors have donated their money (and time) to bring the total giveaway pot to over $400. So also thank Reizo, ComputerMD82, Blake, ViciousXUSMC, and a few anonymous donors for their contributions.

We will be giving away a minimum of 7 games, and if the value of the first 7 winners is less than the pot, then we will keep drawing winners until all the money is used up! I will foot the bill if it goes over (i.e. we have $420 available, last one puts total at $450, I'll pay the $30 to make sure we have one extra winner).

Here's how the December 22 giveaway will work. The rules are a little different, so pay attention! :

(1) CHOOSE THE GAME YOU WANT TO WIN UP TO $60US!
Enter your NBR Username and game desired to win worth up to $60US (cost at time of drawing) into the form at the link at the bottom of this post.

ONE ENTRY PER PERSON!!!

The game can be a single game or can include a game pack, but only single purchase items. Winners will be asked to confirm the game or game pack by supplying us with the link to the game at Steam. The game must also be released at the time the contest ends (Dec 22).

I also updated it so that the game must be available by the time the contest ends. I don't want to wait one, two, three months or more and have to remember to gift your game. I guess if it's out within a week or two, then I might flex the rules a bit.

 

Very fun idea htwingnut! Admittedly I haven't had a lot of time to help others recently due to an overwhelmingly busy schedule. But I have found some time to try and aid others on this forum in finding the answer to the question or solution to the problem that they are seeking. Everyone around here does that, many more than I, so I know it's not much, but I for one am well aware of the power in reducing fingernail biting, hair pulling, and head shaking that a useful post can make. Many notebookreview members have been kind enough to help me and it has inspired me to try and help others.

 

Does this mean no pre-purchase games like The Witcher 2, Hunted: Demons Forge or Brink?

 

Depends on if the game can be gifted or not in its pre-purchase state.

If it can, its OK

If it can't then NO
