Wow, I've been waiting for a way to limit games to a steady Framerate, that's sweet, now I want to wait for Kepler..
-
The FPS limiter is coming in the drivers, and will be available to all cards, Fermi or Kepler.
-
If AMD doesn't get something like this, it might be a deal breaker.
-
Look over here for exclusive Kepler specs
http://forum.notebookreview.com/gam...idge-specs-revealed-yknyong1-56k-warning.html -
All this info coming out right now or speculations... this is all based off desktop models right? Is there any thread regarding what AMD has coming up? I thought gamers liked AMD more?
-
-
I believe these boosted clocks are another way of product differentiation for NVIDIA going forward. However, what will happen to overclocking?
Oh, and I haven't received your rep yet, Cloudfire
-
Now I wonder how good the 640m and the 650m are.. This is so interesting
Got any pics of the 650m perhaps? -
TheBluePill Notebook Nobel Laureate
That isn't bad at all, really. Would be nice to not have to waste too much juice and generate heat that you don't have to. -
the only thing I am concerned about is heat..
This in combination with a turbo boosting cpu ? Lets hope we dont get another 3830tg -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Interesting, it should not have the input lag issues of vsync either. The CPU and GPU are staying within their TDPs. If a notebook manufacturer fails on cooling, that is their issue.
-
They could go the intel xm direction and so only the highend cards have unlocked multiplier? Oh the humanity!
-
Sorry for off topic, but can someone explain this to me please. Maybe I'm just ocd, but this is the main reason I have trouble to believe anything.
-
ARE.YOU.KIDDING?!
well, I change my point of view, Kepler WILL crush GPU realm... this is just crazy... time to build a new desktop
btw MXM3.1 is compatible with MXM3.0, upgrade possible
-
LOL yeah,
Let us pray that the turbo boost with Kepler GPUs isn`t engineered to only turbo max if it have enough thermal room like certain Intel CPUs did. I`d imagine pissed off GT650M owners with slim notebooks cursing at Nvidia
Come on man. You gotta be blind to not notice anything fishy with that leaked screenshot
-
OMG GTX 285M is not out yet!
-
Hurray everyone is missing and/or ignoring my point
-
I am missing your point dude
-
I guess they either are too lazy to get a high resolution one or compress it too much to save space? or edited out the source watermarked?
-
maaaaaaaaan, what is taking so loooooooooooong. I hate waiting

A Watched GPU never Ships.. -
That one was too deep for me
lol this forum is famous. No one believes us that the GTX 660M will be Kepler though

Nvidia Geforce GTX 680M, GT 650M e GT 640M in arrivo? - Notebook Italia
http://www.hartware.de/news_54275.html -
can't wait till end of GDC then. 680m is the only nVidia GPU I'm concerned about.
HMM I wonder if we can downscale the performance from the recently leaked GK104 performance.
supposedly it operates at 198W, and around 140-150% GTX580 performance.
So linearly would that mean 680m at 100W would = 70% perf of gtx 580 desktop =O -
It actually operates at 300 watts, to get about a 50% boost over the GTX580. I would expect a 100 watt mobile variant to improve on the 580m by 10-30% at stock settings. In other words I would say a standard GPU score of around 4800 for the 680m. Just for reference, a 580m starts around 3400, at stock voltage will easily OC to a 4000 GPU score, and overvolted will go even higher. Note the scores in the links are extreme scores, so not comparable to the numbers I gave.

Wow, that's too hot...
But it might be the thermal compound or the reseller the reviewer bought from. -
Isn't that after over an hour of FurMark?
I've never run it that long, but as stressing as FurMark is, 96°C doesn't seem too hot for running that long. -
GTX 680 perform about 42% better than GTX 580 (if this is legit)
We will know a lot more March 12th. Kepler will be announced officially by Nvidia that date.

NVIDIA Kepler GK104 (GTX 680) Final Specifications Leaked
The SemiAccurate guide to Nvidia Kepler/GK104/GTX680 launch activities | SemiAccurate -
We need a proper thread
as the GTX660M thread is inundated with irrelevant information as some have mentioned. All speculative info and leaks should be posted here. I love leaks!
So far we know GT 640M and GT 650M are Kepler.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/gam...-ivy-bridge-benchmarks-revealed-yknyong1.html
Would the GTX 660M and GTX 680M be Kepler? That's for us to find out! -
Let's wait for another 12-24 hours. Forums will be flooded with Kepler discussions
-
Yes, this thread is prepared for NVIDIA Kepler discussion for the launch later.
-
Why now? Is there some event or release of info recently?
-
TheBluePill Notebook Nobel Laureate
Thats today.. Any word yet? -
Nope nothing yet.
Well there is one thing though, the die size of the GK104 will be 296 mm^2. The GTX 580 (GF110) was 520mm^2.
GTX 580M (GF114) was 332mm^2.
This is a picture of the G92B graphic processor standing next to the GK104.

In what time zone does the folks at Nvidia that are responsible of announcing the news live?
Asia? North America? Europe? North Pole?

TheBluePill Notebook Nobel Laureate
They have their own timezone and reality.
ETA: The Press Release will hit here; http://pressroom.nvidia.com -
Thanks.
I`m hoping California since the clock is only 12:32 there now.
-
That's interesting..... I think the GK104 die was estimated at 320mm, they can just put the card in form factor and tweak the power a bit.
-
Yeah, especially interesting that a die that is smaller than the best notebook die can posess that power.
Well we don`t know yet how powerful it going to be, but I`m pretty shure its faster than 580M
-
Nothing from Nvidia yet. Looks like S|A was wrong?
-
Yes looks like Charlie missed bigtime. According to him some press folks have already been learning about Kepler, and they were ready to tell us it today.
-
I'm going to hibernate until something new comes out, in regards to mobile Kepler or GCN.
This past week was crushingly pathetic on then news front. -
well nvidia posted a new blog post about the GT640M and Acer, which we already knew.
-
I think everyone just got smoked by NVIDIA...
Real Ultrabooks Have GPUs NVIDIA
Epic propaganda by NVIDIA. "Clearly, the best Ultrabooks have NVIDIA GPUs."
However, we can identify the course of future direction NVIDIA will take to Ultrabooks. -
Yeah thats the "big announcement" today. Guess us mobile users should be content with 580 and 6990 m awhile longer.
-
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M - Notebookcheck.net Tech
not any news but they updated the website along with announcement date (they are pretty accurate with announcements) -
These GTX 670M, GTX675M, and GTX 680M naming are too near. Rebadge possiblility is very high for 675M.
Here's hoping GTX 660M is based on GK104. Nvidia Kepler GK104 GPU Die Size Exposed ? Report - Softpedia -
I think we will have 640m 650m and 680m as Kepler (GK107-200, GK107-300 and GK104 respectively), the rest will be Fermi rebadges
-
But GK107-x00 refers to desktop chips.
-
really? this is what we were talking for ages already
-
"GK107 will make it to desktops as D14."
So GK107-x00 refers to desktop chips.
