ACTUALLY READ THIS!!!
I really like 3rd perons, but FPSs are ok too i guess.
I have played crysis, cod4,and most of the standard FPSs.
3rd persons: masseffect (eventhough that is an rpg), GOW, R6V2..
I have played Maxpayne, hitman, UT3, Starwars games, steam games (source engine games)
Seriously Guys, read the darn post... stop suggesting stuff i said i have played (note, i added the maxpayne, hitman and everyhting after that right now).
Games I am thinking of trying:
Stranglehold
-
Lost Planet : Extreme Condition
Stranglehold -
edit: My fault, I thought you were asking which of those three you should play. Slightly rude to someone who was trying to help though; to each his own.
-
You could go 'old school' and try out a classic called 'Outcast'. Despite being 8 or 9 years old now, graphically it should still hold up well.

Wow... did you seriously not read?
Everything you suggested i said i have played... -
Unreal 3....
-
isn't that 1st person?
-
Yes.
And that Outcast game has some hilarious graphics.
Honestly, I can't think of any other good ones... Was Jedi Knight on PC? -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
yeah... you could get the last jedi knight game. it was pretty good in its time, based on the quake 3 engine. (its a heavily modified quake III engine, looks a lot better but still long in the tooth by today's standards. but you can run it in 1920x1200 i bet.
-
I loved the game, but yeah, Masterchef is right, the graphics are kinda... dated.
-
Ok... i guess i should add to the game's i have played list:
Unreal 3
all of the PC starwars games... -
Well, then you're out of luck with me. Consoles really hold the 3rd person shooters, it's kinda awkward on PC.
-
For 3rd person
1. Gears of War (warning before you buy its buggy like no other perare to look up some fix's for it. Once you get the fix's its such an amzing game!)
2. Mass Effect ( Great RPG and great 3rd person action!)
3. Tomb Raider games (Still love them even today great action and good puzzles) -
Seriously guys... read the thread.
This is ridiculous. -
Splinter Cell : Chaos Theory
More tactical, but chaos theory is the most run and gun one than the rest -
Splinter Cell!!!
Ill try that -
Why do I sense Hitman being left out ?
-
Played those too, lol
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Lost Planet is great.
-
What about the Metal Gears that are on PC. I belive that Metal Gear 2 is on the PC but Snake Eater (which was the best) is not.
-
Have to disagree about Snake Eater being the best MGS game...
-
good luck trying to find metal gear soild for the pc. I have been looking everywhere! If you do see it any wheer let me know!

I can get it...just not on disc
eBay and Amazon! -
Thats your opinion.
There are plenty of ways to get MGS games, you just have to use your noodle. -
Oh I know, I wasn't saying you were wrong. I just thoroughly enjoyed MGS2 and 4 more than 3.
-
I thought 2 was good but I liked 3 cuz it really explained a lot of the MGS story. 4 was a graphical masterpiece but if you haven't played or read about the MGS story, you would not understand what is going on. Also if you play through 4 without watching the cutscenes, there is only about 6 hours of actual gameplay.
-
I gotta agree, you really had to understand the whole "Liquid/Solid Snake" thing, along with Jack, and Sonny. The cutscenes were too beautiful to skip... (The Drebin ones seemed to take forever though...)
-
I've through MGS 4 3 times already and I'm trying to unlock everything I can so now I just skip the cutscenes since its like watching a movie 3 times.
-
True, although I've only played through it once.
-
Freedom Fighters!
-
Shadowgrounds and Shadowgrounds Survivor. Available on Steam.
-
Max Payne, and Max Payne 2. From some reviews the Stranglehold seems to be on the same line of gameplay, I'm thinking of getting it.

Jesus I haven't even finished it yet. -
i second Freedom Fighters!!! its excellent!!
-
If you like star trek, I thought Star Trek: Hidden Evil had a good story.
-
I second Max Payne and Max Payne 2. And Brute Force for the Xbox1.
-
Max Payne series is very good and so is Gears of War. maybe Prince of Persia as well? third person slasher?
-
Stragnlehold is Maxpayne with the whole enviroment destructable and Gorgous Graphics.
-
Stranglehold and Max Payne for sure !
-
Hitman series
-
Max Payne and Max Payne 2
-
it's not really a shooter but beyond good and evil is a fun game and it's 3rd person action adventure.
-
You should try Rainbow 6 Vegas 2. And possibly Mass Effect. The world in Mass Effect is unbelievable and the story is just awesome.
-
Are you guys blind, or do you just jump to the 5th page so you can add your comment? Vegas 2 is a FPS, and Mass Effect was mentioned, by the OP, on the first page!
-
KGann Basicly, RSV2 is a 3rd person shooter, since i cant imagine anyone surviving more than 5 secs without a cover (AKA 1st person mode), 90% of the game time the player is in 3rd person shooter, the rest of the time he is running to another area.
-
I played it on PS3, and I don't think I stayed in cover for 90% of the time, but I do see your point. I still think the OP is looking for an actual 3rd Person Shooter. Something along the lines of GRAW.
-
Vampire-The Masquerade Bloodlines. One of the smartest and most engaging action RPG games ever made for the PC.
-
With an attitude like that, my suggestion is that you buy every game you can afford, because I doubt you're going to find very much companionship if that's typical of your approach.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015
