we just approached it from a different angle)))

The Asynchronous flip is for OpenGL games only, is there any way to disable it for D3D?
-
Sorry, for Direct3d no idea.
-
Does anyone know when Intel is gonna release the new xp drivers? I use windows only for gaming, so it wouldn't be a problem to install vista just to play CoH Opposing Fronts... but I don't want to install vista if the xp drivers are coming up soon.
-
The configuration of energy option thats in the control panel
of Intel, is it only for when the laptop is in battery mode or
the whole time? -
Its pretty clear Intel has abandoned development on the x3100 drivers. They have much bigger things to work on like the new x4500.
-
Uhh, it uses the same drivers you know?? The reason stated by various news articles for release of 15.9 was to get ready for X4500, in fact 15.9 driver is said to be the enabling driver for it. The chip is in beta stages and you need some sort of DX10 supporting drivers for the motherboard vendors.
-
This is what I'm finding as well. I thought it was a vista thing, but it's just the drivers and the card, period. Why is Half-Life 1 running at the same speed as Far Cry? (which doesn't run badly actually, considering) This is insane. Can't play Half-Life anymore, the only game that I used to play which still runs is RTCW:ET. C&C Renegade is killed due to vsync issues and choppyness.
-
Half Life 1 is working great for me 3x fps than farcry.
-
i go to the download page & look to see if the new drivers are there & i see 6/2/08 so i get a little happy, but then i look to the left & there just some crappy storage manager...
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/fil...XP+Professional&lang=eng&strOSs=44&submit=Go!
damn -
Yeah I know exactly how ya feel same happened to me this morning
-
Have you tried playing Natural Selection or any other complex mod? What res/settings are you using in HL and the control panel? For me, any time there's transparencies, lots of models, or text on the screen the FPS just dies from 99 to anywhere from the 20's to the 7's.
-
No. Just pure HL1 and CS
Highest possible. -
LOL!! What next? They gonna introduce some premium download accounts or what? That is hilarious)))
-
I think he was refering to RAID/AHCI Software - Intel® Matrix Storage Manager driver ...
Anyway is there a table with all driver listed with both xp and vista ? -
Yes, try here.
Edit: the link is for GM965 -
-
That's mean, please please share the wealth
-
OOPS))) sorry, it was me who got it wrong))) Shame on me)
-
Whats the current best gaming driver for Vista? Got a new laptop today with X3100 since I won't be gaming much (maybe some dawn of war at most) so it suits me fine, but I do want to get the best performance...
Also - best 3d settings in the Intel CP? -
15.9, grab it from
http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/CS-025753.htm
Ive done plenty of gaming on it, you have to be a bit tolerant at times, but it can get something done, and also, considering how much you paid, and how much a laptop with an nVidia or ATi GPU wouldve cost, its not bad. And yeah, i almost always prefer playing PSone games on my x3100 than my 9600 GT -
Yeah got that actually, read a bit back into the thread, initially wasn't going to (72 pages!) but luckily the relevant info was close enough to the end.
Seems OK so far - Dawn of War runs perfectly fine and miles better then it did on the GMA950 I tested it on and a friends 900 who used to play LAN. UT2K4 ran fine too at 800x600 normal settings - and without any of the inconsistent choking that plagued the 900/950.
won't be playing games really though - almost solely college work/browsing/watching video. -
I can run UT2K4 on High at 1024x768, the framerate is normally above 40, but yeah, the X3100 is pretty poor when it comes to consistency, so at times it stutters, but otherwise VERY playable
-
Well, I've got HL2/CS:S running better than HL 1 on this card now, though I'm using 800 x 600 and medium detail. CS:S scores 43 fps on the hardware stress test, and it's smooth online. Far Cry runs pretty well indoors, but outdoors all the foliage kills it, so it's between 20-40 fps most of the times. I know I could turn down the settings and it will run better, but that isn't the point of far cry at all.
Edit: these are one a XP SP3 laptop with a Celeron 540 @ 1.86 ghz, 1gb ram. -
So, on my laptop with Core 2 Duo 1.8GHz + 2Gb RAM 667MHz perhaps I can get a little more juice
BTW, does anyone has a program that can overclock MSI PR200 laptops? (feat C2D cpus + 965 chipset + x3100) -
I haven't found any program that can overclock them yet, I don't think there's a .pll yet.
-
New XP drivers 14.34, right under newest RAID/AHCI.
-
new drivers for xp, 14.34. After a quick test I don't see any benefit with 3dmark 01 and rfactor. ciao and sorry for my poor english
-
New vista drivers too, I'm guessing 15.9.1 ?
Edit: Or maybe not. The release notes look the same as the previous driver and the date is 4/25/2008 as the original 15.9. So what is this - added on 5/28/2008 ? -
That is just a glitch, those are the same drivers.
-
i am playing WoW with my laptop with the x3100 and vista ... i think i have the latest driver coz just reinstalled vista ( i had xp but kinda got tired of it ) and it installed the drivers from windows update ... the problem is that i'm getting some "black-screen" problem for a few seconds it just goes black ... and then back to normal ... anyone seen this too?
-
whoever said theres no performance increase is on crack....so far i played Chinatown on Cod4 & there was atleast a 10 FPS boost....
And to top it all off.... Single Player now works WooHoo!!!!! -
Can u guys confirm that these are at the moment the latest drivers:
Vista(32b) 15.9.0.1472 -> 7.14.10.1472 from abril 25 2008
Xp Pro 14.34.0.4943 -> 6.14.10.4943 from abril 18 2008
these versions i got from the Readme file on the driver list at Intel. -
Confirmed latest driver.
-
Bling! Let's see if there's an FPS increase...
-
+4 fps in HL2 at least, will test Far Cry and FEAR later.
-
now the shadow appear when set the shadow to high in neverwinter nights 2...
-
lol
with the 14.34 xp driver can't even play wc3 dota anymore,
when you try to create a game it will get BSOD...
-
I'm getting some poor results - 15fps in GTA3 - but it's almost identical at 800x600 and 1280x800 leading me to believe something else is at fault, but what?
COD4 runs the same - about 15fps - but seeing as thats about 500% more intensive then GTA3 I'm not surprised - that performance DOES seem normal.
I ran GTA3 on the GMA950 before and got 30-40fps.... -
So is it actually confirmed that Intel will release a much better driver for this card, including opengl 2.0 support? And when?
-
Not confirmed. I posted some rumors from intel forums that opengl 2.0 is in beta now. But nobody says when/if a driver will opengl2.0 support will be released.
-
Ok, I guess the idea is that when Intel releases their X4500 chip, they need new drivers, and those drivers would actually work on the older X3100 as well, improving performance and enabling opengl 2.0. Anyways, let's hope it happens.
-
14.34 notes:
-Image corruption in Crysis has been eliminated for the most part. 14.33 fixed the issue of incorrect rendering of the characters, but the water came out to look interlaced. 14.34 has neither of the problem. Performance with High settings seem to be better. Before, it would be a pain to change settings while in High settings.
-World in Conflict doesn't crash in using the built-in benchmark to run anything greater than Low settings. Previously in 14.33, it would with Medium settings or higher.
-Much less crash in World of Warcraft, although unfortunately I can't say it has been eliminated completely.
-On Doom 3 Demo, I had taken a screenshot of a scene to compare with previous drivers, tested at 1024x768 High with FRAPS. The result was 12 fps. In 14.34, I get 22. I don't notice much jerkiness as I experienced before. Of course, it could be an isolated case with the demo version and not full. Same seems to be true with Quake 4 Demo. -
15.9 and 14.34 is enough to support the X4500. However, its mostly for developers as the chip isn't released yet. In fact, its delayed till August so...
-
X3100 and speacially X4500 are very good integrated graphics *if* Intel increases the software department quality/speed. Drivers take long to be ready and optimized no to mention that the GUI is horrible and basic.
Intel to gain market share and credibility (on GPUs) must improve (alot) these drivers and allow some tunning/overclock.
I disagree with those persons that associate mobile + no overclocking. I have been doing OC from 12-13 years till now and I had fantastic results even on laptops:
Several laptops with Centrino CPUs overclocked from 1.5/1.6 to 2.0-2.2GHz without a sweat and ATI GPUs that would overclock 50% to the GPU and 30-35% to memories.
Well, I own now a MSI PR200 C2D laptop + GM965 + X3100 + 667MHz RAM and I still haven´t found a OC app for the C2D Mobile nor to the X3100 (if someone knows please send me a PM or post here!).
Imagine if you could overclock 10-15% on the CPU, 15% on RAM + BUS and 15-20% on X3100 circuit...overall we would get a lot better performance as X3100 + X4500 drivers uses a lot the CPU + RAM speed to process (= software modes) which would mean that lots of today´s games would play well at playable resolutions (800x600 and above) -
I'm getting much smoother framerates in both Far Cry and Fear. There used to be times when the framerate would drop unreasonably likely due to rendering errors, but now it's great.
-
there are a power and performance setting in the intel gma setting on control panel...don't really know will it increase performance
-
Anyone with any explanation as to why I'm getting 15fps in GTA3?
-
idk....with the new drivers im gettin avg 28 FPS which is pretty much what i had before......
-
GTA3 works fine here, don't know the fps, but really smooth and at highest distance..ok yes with 14.33.1, I haven't tried it yet with the new ones.
14.34 increased fps for me in CS:Source, F.E.A.R and Serious Sam 2.
Edit: @HavoK Do you have GTA3 patched? Also you sure the old driver is fully uninstalled?
Intel X3100 users rejoice! It's finally here! New Pre-Beta Drivers
