    M1710 7950 GTX not up to snuff

    2GB of ram should be enough for now i think. But i'm not running vista so i'm not sure. But i think you will get a higher 3dmark06 score when you run it in xp so i wouldn't bother about that score ;)

    2GB of RAM is fine for Vista too; I have 2GB in my current laptop and have not yet run into any situations where I was running out of RAM.

    is your 2Gb of ram 533Mhz of 667Mhz ? and what's your processors speed ? T7400 or T7600 ?
    I have a M1710 with the same 7950GTX and T7600, 4Gb of Ram and it works fine !
    The problem might also relates to overheating or Vista consumes too much ram, I think. Anyway, I am switching to dual boot, XP is still better for gaming
