Im going pure adept for both ME1 & ME2 even if it is harder its just the way I want to go. Got my Gothic female Sheppard caster character that kinda reminds me of my Warlock from WoW.

Just finished the game as a vanguard on veteran. It was easier than the first one. A harder level would have been welcomed
Spent almost 56 hours to check every planet and every mission. If you want more planet to check just buy galaxy map at citadel.
The smaller planets are more ressources they have usually
Started to be fun after 10 hours playing. The begining was a little boring
Jake, grunt and the geth are the best.
The AI hacking stuff is very useful to make friends among enemies.
    Don't intend to play anymore.

I just finished as an Infiltrator, now playing through as a Sentinel. I am very happy with the changes they have made, especially doing away with the traditional inventory and being able to affect the cut screens with good or bad actions (doing nothing can be just as dramatic too sometimes). I believe ME2 surpases ME1 and can not wait to see what is coming next. Bring on the Reavers!!!

Adobe's ConnectNow video conferencing service aims to out-simple the competitors, but did Adobe take the less-is-more approach too far? We break it down in this review.

Though having similar functionality, it's clear from the get-go that ConnectNow is aimed at a different group than the stalwart Google Chat. While our last contender, ooVoo, seemed fairly schizophrenic and bloated, ConnectNow is extraordinarily streamlined and, best of all, it operates right in your browser window.

Depends. If you don't like using powers then soldier will be a good intensive fight. If you want cool looking powers that will probably get you killed but are nonetheless awesome then choose vanguard. If you don't like dying, pick the sentinel :p

I love this game but how can you play it through 4 times? I'll wait a few weeks or even months for my next playthrough due to if I remember every bits and pieces it can spoil the felling, and there will be no surprises.

Does anyone know what is the difference or what is the "past" if you are not importing ME1 save?
Maybe I have to see it myself in a third playthrough :)

    Without import:

    Love Ashley
    Kaiden dead
    Wrex dead
    Council dead
Anderson doesn't get the council seat
    Rachni Queen killed

I can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

Interesting that those are the default choices. All of my choices were different:

    Love Liara
    Ashley dead
    Wrex alive
    Council saved
    Anderson on council
    Rachni Queen saved

ME2 is pretty amazing I just started playing it after finally beating Dragon Age (another amazing bioware game). I never played ME1 but ME2 is really fun so far, and the chick actually enjoys watching me play which is a bonus. After playing DAO and ME2 I'm really excited to see what they do with SWTOR, I've already signed up for the beta testing.

Just as in ME1, the rewards of being a jerk were as great as ever in ME2. Just finished the game after 27 hours of gameplay, and I must say that ME2 is the best game I've ever played.

I have played it for almost all afternoon yesterday and... Is Kelly a romancing option? I was surprised at the flirty dialog options when talking to her. I'm still in the adaptation phase as I don't really like what they did to the key bindings but so far I'm loving it!

she is but there is no love scene. You get the option of 'dinner' with her in your cabin but no scene. If you beat the game and she doesn't die then you can call her up to your room for a dance.

yeah, lots of talk about that and how people really like her character. If you have a legit version of the game, take a look at the mass effect forums (you need to register with your cdkey). Huge amount of chatter there. people posting by the minute.

I chose Tali for the romance option, partly because I like her character and partly because the other females are utterly deranged.

In Mass Effect 3, apparently all the surviving crew members will return in the game. I do wish Urdnot Wrex was still more involved in the story, though. Best dialogue ever!

not sure about surviving members returning. No confirmation from bioware and its going to cost a lot of time+money to develop a character that the player might not even used if they were killed in ME2. Remember that everyone in your squad can die and if you survive that save file can be imported to ME3.

Urdnot Wrex was one of my favorite characters in ME1. I was glad to see him in ME2, but also wished that he had a bit more involvement. Hopefully in ME3 we can get some more interaction with him. His comments crack me up.

Lol, what do you have against them? When you start breaking Jack's titanium armor-plated shell she is not that bad considering what her childhood was like :D. I'm currently experiencing 30+ seconds long loading screens thanks to my stupid idea of compressing my main drive. Ugh. :(

    - Jack is a psycho, no matter which way you cut it (I mean, she's a )
    - Miranda is genetically-modified (that's probably a bit mean of me)
    - Samara is a robot

Tali is the only charming character, and I would also point out that she's the only romance option from the first Mass Effect.

try the affinity trick to decrease load times. Open me2, go to task manager, process, me2, right click, set affinity, uncheck a core, click okay, open it, recheck the core, click okay. should help loading times. Only for Dual cores though

Holy mammoth! What kind of Dark Magic is this??? My loading times are at most 10 seconds now... How is that possible? Isn't the game supposed to be multi core optimized? Why does playing it with only one core speed the loading times? One downside of that is that I get some slowdowns...

there shouldn't be any slowdowns, did you recheck the core you unchecked? Supposedly its due the unreal engine and its optimization or something. This trick basically made my loading times from 40 secs to like 5 secs.

This game looks much better with the depth of field turned off, imo.

If you want to try it out, go to the My Documents -> Mass Effect 2 -> Config, then add DepthOfField=False under GamerSettings.ini

I'm guessing this is the discussion thread for this game as it's getting some posts.. but does anyone have a tl;dp[lay] for ME1?

I played through a lot of it on 360 but stopped and I never got around to it again. I got it in steam for $5 but feeling too lazy to play it especially if I can play ME2 which improves on the bad of ME1 lol. My thinking is why play inferior product when I can play the newer one hahah, I know bad. Anyway, story info link?
Or, if I did a quick playthrough of ME1, how long do you think I could beat it in w/o side missions? Easy mode, casually reading/skipping some convos.

A large part of ME2 is the number of ties and connections it has to things that happened in ME1. It's really worth playing through ME1 before playing ME2. If you play it on easy, skip a lot of side missions and skim through some of the conversations, you can probably beat it around 10 hours, but I would recommend taking more time than that.

    **SPOILER**

    **END SPOILER**

And make the text in between white.

I'm replaying ME1 so I can import that character into ME2 (and holding off on ME2 intentionally until I finish 1).

Found Liara and did all of the side missions (except for the Cerberus one) in about 5 or 6 hours of gameplay ... with Feros and Noveria remaining (and I think the DLC).
I like doing all the side missions.

However, one of the things I didn't like is how BIOWARE dropped the male/male romance option.

On one occasion, that idiot Ashely Williams behaved all jealous with my male Shepard despite the fact I never insinuated anything remotely romantic with her (it was completely out of the blue), and then later she kept flirting and throwing herself. Pathetic and annoying (imo).

I wanted to get Alenko though for my male Shepard ... but alas, nothing was doable. The only thing I was able to find online was a youtube clip with Alenko and male Shepard.
Bioware actually made it (because someone managed to unlock the content), but hasn't finished it because during the scene, the male shepard turns into a woman (however the dialogue and all is there).

I intentionally killed Williams the first time I played ME in that near final mission because I really didn't like her (will do the same thing this time).
I find her plain annoying and whiny.
Liara is more tolerable than her, plus she's a scientist, but I turned down her advances as well (she still has dead on female like features despite the entire 'mono-gender species' aspect).

Plus if I figured out ME2 stuff correctly, male/male romance option was dropped (yet again) ... although someone again made a mod and during the scene where male Shepard meets one of his previous male team members, they have a hug, some love talk on the other character part during the initial scene and all, and that's it.
So apparently, the content is there, but (again) unfinished or deliberately left out?

(My game-wise) my male Shepard is single intentionally.

At least in DA I have the option for male/male romance (and in Jade Empire) (both of which I have to pull nail and tooth to get).

Which raises the question why is ME team avoiding it?
It's not like the characters will be forcing you into that direction ... except for one or two female(likes) who PUSH the hetero aspect so much it's at one time difficult to get them to STOP at all or get the other content (if it's there).

I know ... gay romance is not the whole point of the game or integral for the story, but it does feel a bit empty without that particular aspect because I cannot shape my male Shepard entirely how I want.
