Any Chance for a vbios made specifically for clevo models? (or on a clevo , still unsure of how this works.)

that's very impressive meaker...when you have had enough wife time...can you state the clocks and run the crysis 2 bench tool

Thanks and congratz on the the scores.

Looks like there is lots of potential in the 680m

It works with Clevo for shure. 4GB that is. Im not shure if there exist any 2GB Clevos though...
We have 3 people who have tested it with Clevo now :D

I wonder if the 780m will take as much electricity as a 580m/675m. If so 8000 3dmark11 is possible as just a standalone card.

Got it, also cloud. i dont know if you decided completely on the MSI yet, but Origin is offering a free 256 gb samsung 830 ssd right now with their clevo models. (or Eon. w/e, its still a clevo.)

With my stock overclock of 854MHz / 2300MHz I get:
    DiRT 3 = 82.2 FPS
    Metro 2033 = 34.0 FPS

So it's only ~ 10% FPS boost with that significant OC. Diminishing returns on overclock it seems.

    Enjoy. :)

With Metro2033 he got 15% more FPS than your max overclock, which may even be bigger than that since you guys could have tested different maps/areas. I wouldn`t call that diminishing returns, also considering that the temperature is max 79C.

We have already seen Witcher 2 with max settings and ubersampling enabled, from 23-29FPS with this VBIOS. I HIGHLY doubt that you are able to reach that ;)

But he is distributing it without author's consent if someone pms him.. I think the author just doesn't care which is obvious by him passing his precious vbios to him.. no understanding

I understand that the stock clock for the new vBIOS is 900/1200 I believe , how is the performance at those clocks since I can assume those clocks are stable with the increase voltage on any clevo/msi gtx 680m?

What on earth are you talking about? I have talked to the creator of the VBIOS and have even discussed this with him. I have his approval.

And your "[I.]precious[/I] vbios" is disgusting since you don`t know what you are talking about. Have you ever modifed any VBIOS before?
Complain anyway you want, I`m not going to be the one who uploads it here for everyone to download. End of story

WOW, 60FPS on Times Square is amazing :D

Meaker: Have you tried experimenting with higher memory clocks or is that the highest you can get? Is the GPU bottlenecked by the memory at that speed?

The memory wont go much if any higher, they are samsung 1.25ghz modules and samsung does not usually have much give in it.

This is why you need to edit the bios by the way:

Must you put fan to the max with FN+1 in order to keeping cool the GPU?
Do you plan to keep your gpu OV/OC ?

Do you have change the original thermal pad?

Can't Fn+1 on my system so these temps I gave are with the default speeds.

I always use MX-4 thermal paste. Yes I will keep a level of OC/OV.

PLEASE READ ANYONE ASKING ME FOR A BIOS.

I have been working with the good grace of SLV7 throughout this entire process, he has put a LOT of time into this for me so until he says otherwise I will not be giving out a bios. There will be a release at some point on his terms. Watch this space.

    Not quite:

    55.3/43.4 = +27.4%
    57.4/46.9 = +22.4%
    59.8/53.2 = +12.4%

There's an odd duck there. Your max avg diff is 59.8/55.3 = 8.1% while mine is 53.2/43.4 = 22.6%. I ran the session twice with similar results.

The test that my card is closer is likely more memory bandwidth limited meaning the gap becomes smaller, but the other two are more shader bound so I pull a large lead.

Nice so its 50MHz more than the previous :D
    Still stable? Temperature increase?
Have you and svl played with more voltage or are you still using the same voltage as the VBIOS I sent you?

EDIT: Oh 1.075V now. Nice :)

    My stock OC for comparison:

    That's ~ 10-15% improvement for 188MHz Core bump (22%) and +270MHz vRAM bump (12%)

Although I notice your GPU-Z shows "direct compute" and "CUDA" where mine does not? But GPU-Z 0.6.2 does on mine?

Right further testing shows the card has a temp wall of 90C at which point it downclocks, so in stressful games it would bounce down to "only" 880mhz, so I think I will run the salt voltage level for 24/7 at around 1037mhz just to ensure consistent performance.

Yep, do it the safest way. The "stock" voltage of the VBIOS have given you awesome performance and pretty cool temperatures so one shouldn`t really complain

Not only does this overclock beat GTX 580, but I would have never guessed you could reach 7950 performance and run there 24/7 fully stable. Well now we know :)

So how simple is it to flash the vBIOS? Is it straightforward? What about the memory controller and memory usage concerns there were previously have those been addressed?

edit: Nevermind saw this post from meaker. Is this the vBIOS that cloudfire posted? If anything it would be nice to have the vbios to prevent the bouncing gpu speeds.
