I would be but... I'm playing the actual game not the demo.

 

i was going to buy this today but i decided to hold off till next week - i heard that the game is a great single player experience but lacks in the multiplayer area due to gametypes and other little things. basically i heard that if i were to buy it, expect to enjoy a single player game but a limited multiplayer compared to other wwii titles such as cod2. i know its hard to critisize a game if you own it already but is there someone that could fill me in? i figure i'll buy the game anyways even if its just for the single player but i want to know if this game is something to get if your looking for multiplayer intensity.

 

Just wait till like next week when things start rolling for multiplayer. Patches, updates, etc.

It´s too bad the game is so friggin easy and friggin short. It only took me 2 days to play through and that´s not even 2 full days but more a total of 6 hours.

just download that mod and install it! make sure u back up the file u're gonna replace. weapons.ini or something like that!

 

2 more days until it is released in australia. yay.

 

I decided not to get it - only 12 players multiplayer, talk about living in the past!

well i will be playing 10 player most of the time, so it doesn't affect me at all.

it would be a bit hard to type it like that unless you where doing it delibrately. i prefer to bag out the way you yanks spell normally

Response to the 12 player max on multiplayer.

According to Electronic Arts creative director Jon Paquette:

"We did a lot of play testing and prototyping with our multiplayer and decided on 12 players because of the nature of our gameplay and the size of our maps. With more players, it became a little overwhelming to have that many paratroopers coming from the sky throughout the gameplay sessions. One thing that's unique about our multiplayer is that not only do you have to watch the map in front of you, but also the sky above you. Incoming paratroopers can kill you in one shot by landing on top of you and kicking you. We've had some epic games with 12 players, and it feels like the perfect balance for our multiplayer experience."

 

anymore comments on the mutliplayer?

graphics look pretty nice, i'd love another great ww2 online shooter besides cod2!

 

the multiplayer is fun but they need to add the dedicated servers which i believe they will be doing on the 17th along with some patches. I'm not sure of the specifics though

 

dedicated servers??? don't they just use Gamespy for everything?

 

right now all the servers are player made. i don't know why they didn't start with dedicated

They said that once the dedicated servers are released within the next couple weeks, hosts of those dedicated servers can create there own max player limit.

 

I beat the game last night on the 360 and really liked it. The singleplayer campaign was really enjoyable, but it was definitely on the short side. It took me six, seven hours tops to beat it. I haven't invested a lot of time in the online mode yet, but the few games I played were fun. Not sure if it's worth buying like I did, but it's a definitely a solid shooter. I'll probably play through a few of the missions again, but will skip the last one and a few others because they were so difficult.

Yea the day has an odd feeling huh? Especially after those new terror videos.

Multiplayer? I say it doesn't really matter how many it has. Bioshock has no multiplayer and they've shipped over 1.5 million copies and are on top the charts.

Gears of War for the 360 only has 8 players and it's one of the biggest multiplayer hits around, and one of my favorites too.

 

i'm a car drive away from buying this game... only two questions

1.)how is it running on most of your pc's?

2.)are there many people online? my main want for this game is the multiplayer, as cod2 is kind of played out for me. if there are a decent amount of players online that i'll have no problem finding a good game every night, im in!

 

well i will be getting it tomorrow when it comes out in australia. damn i can't wait. i think you will find that a lot of people will be playing online as it is new.

It runs well on both PCs in my sig, The X1800XT at 1280x1024 high settings, the 7950 1680x1050 max settings.

The 12 player multiplayer only has somewhat turned me off actually buying the game, multiplayer nearly always being the reason I would purchase a game.

I'm on the edge of picking this up tonight too...haha. The only issue is that so many great games are out in October and November which I would rate above MOH. So I'm not completely sold yet but close

 

the only other game i am looking foreward to is assassins creed. CoD4 looks crap, too much like bf2 for my liking. will see how it is tonight.

 

Maybe once the patches/updates arrive you can decide then.

 

CoD4 looks good to me Screens look great on there and unlike the BF series, CoD usually has solid single player gaming too.

Timeshift looks really good. Not sure about the detaisl of it yet.

Another possible fun FPS would be the new Area 51 game.

And on 10/30, for RTS, that one about the alien invasion made by former Westwood studio members. Should be great.

I didn't even mention Crysis there, or Unreal Tourny and the Orange Box for Half Life.

A few of those I have no experience with in the past but they look good.

 

Hellgate london comes out on halloween. its gonna be great ^^

 

im def looking forward to the orange box. i've heard ranting and raving about that cartoony looking online shooter forget what it's called.

also crysis of course.

will prob get CoD4 for xbox 360 b/c i dominate that series online for the xbox, not sure why but i have better skills with the gamepad than most.

still on the fence about airborne though, will probably decide by sunday.

8400GS? Lol, more like 800x600 options on low to produce playable framerates. It's an extremely weak card and the settings you've described would not just be 'slightly choppy' but more like a slideshow.

at anything under 1680x1050 no AA, then definately yes.
