You need to have lava deathfall underneath the arena dirt man.

Never hurts to have more than one! In fact, play-testing DEagle's arena showed that damages to the arena can occur and might need downtime for repairs and maintenance...

 

I'm putting burning Netherrack in the pit. Realistically, you're not going to survive a floor made of fire any easier than you're going to survive lava

I just need to wait for DEagleson to get me some more Netherrack, since you can't find it in a non-Nether world. And unfortunately, it's the only material that stays burning when you light it.

Where's the third? I know Deags made a practice one over the lake, and mine is near spawn.

Luckily my arena is made pretty much entirely of stone, except for a dirt/grass arena floor (which I may change to wool or snow or something later) and wooden flooring. It'll be pretty hard to accidentally break anything

 

Actually wood can also be perma-burning if you position them right.

Also, the loser can put out the fire on netherrack if he falls down; with lava he can't do anything..

If not then il do some maintenance on the current one.

 

The infinite burning wood was patched a long time ago, and even then you could only do it if you make every other block a non-burning material.

As for putting out the fire...well, the losing players are expected to die with honor

I mean, I could ask Deags for lava, but I think 5 stacks of 64 Netherrack and a few flint & steels is just easier to manage than 300-some buckets of lava ^^

DEagleson, what would you rather give me; 5 stacks of Netherrack or 5 chests full of lava buckets?

He could just give you 5 stacks of lava source blocks It's invedit "creative mode" either way, why not utilize it to the full extent haha.

Just got my new build booted for the first time, still have tons of windows updates and drivers to do before its ready to test and get games and stuff on here.

By the time I get that done I should get a few hours of sleep before work.

Temps didnt look goo didnt the bios 46c idle??

Air comming from the computer feels cooler than the 3.6ghz Q6600 so I need to bench with prime or occt and see what kind of temps I get, maybe my load wont be much higher. If I stay under 60c I am fine.

My guess is its because I put a 1200rpm fan on my cpu cooler and moved the 1600rpm fan to my power supply, or I just didnt get the cooler to seat well with the TIM. So if temps are too higher first I will switch the old fan on and then try to repast.

Im going to be racking my brain over redstone for a while when I get back into minecraft, and OMG this game eats time sooo fast. I wanted to mess around just a bit when I got off work before going to get my haircut and work on the computer. I got home at 8:30 and expected to be done 9:30 or 10 at the latest.

I got off and it was NOON! WTH and I didnt even do much.

 

The spleef arena is finished!

When you walk in, there are stairs on the left and right sides. Once you go up the first flight, that's the level of the arena itself. There are two iron doors leading onto the arena floor. There's no switch to open them once you're in the arena, so it's a fight to the death

Up the next flight is the spectator area where you can watch.

I got rid of the burning Netherrack and now it's entirely lava underneath the arena. Be careful, there is pretty much no way to survive it once you fall in.

I lost two wolves in a fire during the lava setup

 

I have like 5 wolves hanging out in the viking fortress

Idle temps 31c in windows, 62c under prime95 load with 1.35V!! thats high enough for 4.8ghz looks like my mobo decided to give me a really high default. Once I drop it to 1.25v and shoot for about 4.5ghz should be under 60c load.

 

I had six wolves, now I'm down to four.

Good temps. I'm at 4GHz on stock volts with my Phenom II x4. Idle is around 45C, but it only gets up to around 55 at full load, so I'm not complaining...that's with the stock cooler as well.

 

When I try to join the server, I get an error. "Failed to connect to the server. Connection refused: connect"

 

Im migrating the server now.
Il turn it back on but do know that any changes to the map may not be included on the new server.
(Probably will but you never know.)

When does it go to the new host??? Tomorrow??? :3
