I have Terraria too, it's a higher-caliber experience, but its longevity is only 1/1000000000 that of Minecraft's.

 

I fixed your road to the spawn a little, Jerg. Just straightened it out, added stairs and made it two blocks wide

Deagleson, when you get the chance, can you add "Keepslipping" to the whitelist? He's not a member here at NBR, but he's a real-life friend of mine and I can guarantee you he's no griefer.

Thanks. We are now encircling some preliminary walls around the perimeters of the spawn area, planning to make a couple of huge gates later this evening if all goes well.

Also the new spawn is right by the mountain cliffs that enclose the viking town, so in the near future some short-cut tunnels through the cliffs to the viking town will definitely be cool.

 

I finally found a huge cave today by going into the ground with a river.

The first cave had tons of coal & iron. Every time it seemed the cave was done I found a new route or dug for a bit and broke into a new chamber.

This lasted for like 5 hours, by the end I had found some diamonds, tons and tons of iron & gold. And a truck load of red rock.

Just as I was about to log off, a zombie knoked me in the lava and killed me and toasted all my items

Lost my diamond sword/pick, and all my iron armor ontop of that stuff i mined. So heart breaking.

Lava is cruel, and the fact that a enemy randomly hits you before you hit it really sucks as i swung my sword and it missed.

 

I just joined Deagle's server but I found it laggy. I guess I will play more seriously when my Precision shows up. The Intel GMA 965 just doesn't cut it for this game.

 

Can we get some screenshots?

 

Jergg and I just about finished a Goliath wall in-front of the new spawn location. I'll post pics tomorrow if someone else doesn't. It's freaking epic.

Here's the wall that waterwizard and I worked on all evening; he had to log out when we were almost done so I put in another 2 hours or so to complete the wall and put in some finishing touches.

We need more peeps to come and join us the new spawn area! That way more epic group projects can be done more efficiently and of course more people = more fun!

 

I can help but not until Monday since playing on Intel Integrated makes the game super laggy!

Yeah this is one of those few games where you are actually put in a position to make every decision count lol.

"Should I put the block here...or there? What material should I use? How large should I make this room? How tall? What shape? How do I manage furniture? etc etc"

Seems like my server post is outgrowing both the thread and my server.
Im moving my map and config to Fragnet.net's 2gb plan.
(That way we keep all the stuff.)
That way we should get rid of the lag and get a few more plugins activated.

Also once i get the server to run Minecraft server 1.6 we will get working Nether realm.

haha, yea we see that now. but when you first started building it, there was no sign and we were confused/spooked, lol.

 

Ok my first attempt in a cliff fortress/house was a total failure. I built it on top of a dungeon! >.<

So it has been boarded up and now looking for a new and safer locale...

lol...

 

That sounds cool, what mob-type was the dungeon? Or do you mean a cave?

Also, come build in the new-spawn area! Old spawn area is riddled with mine-shafts and caves that have already been explored / cleaned out. The new spawn region has lots of cliffs / bays / funnels / forests / deserts, the decision is up to you (as long as you don't build right under the spawn or anything lol).

 

It was cave-like dungeon with zombies and spiders. DEagleson and I clear 50% of it. I can show you the entrance and go down there if you dare... Also note there is alot of water down there too, so don't get drowned either! >.<

I was thinking of building behind Schroom's Noob House in a pretty calm cliff that DEagleson and I checked to see that it was not a dungeon!

 

I found a wolf, and I actually had a bone this time now he's sitting inside my fort. There should still be a few near spawn, if they haven't moved or de-spawned.

And apparently the server plugin is broken, since none of the mods or admins can use their powers.

I will look into it and hopefully fix it once we migrate to the new host.
I will keep the map so we wont need to restart, that would be bad.
The current host is in the US and our US members are complaining at the lag.
(Its insane.)

 

That's a US server? Holy crap, I thought it was somewhere near you. That's a lot laggier than I thought, even with my crappy 3G.

 

Yeah, i rented the server located in Washington DC, East Coast US.
Thought it would be better and less lag for you US players.
But that hoster is crap. D:

New host is http://www.fragnet.net/.
Its a 2gb plan server with unlimited bandwidth located in Netherland.
Cant possible be more laggy that it is now.

Some of my friends have rented other game servers from them and its all been good so il give it a shot too.

 

Yea, i've heard good things about fragnet. Problem with US servers is that the US is one of the worst network performance of all nations. I remember seeing a survey of typical speeds, and the US was one of the lowest, lol.

 

Residential internet here is crap; bandwidth is a joke and pretty much every provider has caps and throttling. I didn't think corporate connections were that bad though.

 

Check out my lava-light house. Needs more lava...lol.

 

Okay, it seems more commands are getting broken by the minute...I can't use /spawnmob at all for anything, and I know for a fact danneboy was using it earlier today. It keeps spitting out an "internal server error" or telling me I can't spawn that mob type.

 

Im moving the server over once im back from work.

@ Mastershroom: Il look into it, /spawnmob worked for me yesterday too.
I could try a server restart but i doubt it would improve that much. D:

 

Hey Deags, when you get a chance, could you give me a few more stacks of Netherrack? I need about 300 for my spleef arena.

Also, be careful when teleporting to spawn; there's blocks in the way. I'd get rid of them, but the // superpick doesn't work either >:|

 

what about TNT would that take it out?

Still why exactly did you put a death torch there in the first place??

We should make you rebuild the entire spawn platform exactly as it is by hand 1 brick over to the left

Or we could just move the spawn cords over by one as a quick fix.

 

TNT probably won't do anything. For whatever reason, blocks placed at spawn can't be destroyed.

And I honestly did not mean to kill anyone at spawn; I simply put down the one Netherrack I was carrying to free up inventory space. I didn't realize it would be stuck there...

And I could fix it in one second if the damn mod commands were working.

I lured a creeper over there and it blew up. Floor needs to be fixed to match the decor because I just filled it in with stone for now.

The giant circular stone structure that spreads out at the top near spawn? That's my spleef arena. It's not done yet, but you can climb up the dirt supports and see the arena itself, which is more complete than the rest of it.
