The BIOS file that you download on GPU-Z doesn't contain all of the bios regions. There's stuff like INFOROM, HULK cer 2.0 stuff and all other sorts of stuff. There's also empty padding space as well.
There was discussion about some of these regions on techpowerup on some bricked Asus TUF OC 3090 card after a flash with Asus' official flasher, and manual unbricking from help from another user (without a programmer), by getting NVflash to flash the corrupt section, which was VERY difficult.

Take the file you read off your chip with the programmer, mod that and flash the modded version onto the chip

Guys with P4200, could you please kindly share your vbioses? On techpowerup there only two versions and both from Dell. In search of HP or Clevo or anything different from Dell.

I noticed that HPE (HP Enterprise) provides a way to update HP Quadro GPU firmware (bios) including Nvidia Pascal GPU on its official website (support section).

There are an option for Windows users and another option for Linux user (easier option). Both are bases on NVFlash it seems.

I'm not an expert but I think it could be used to SW flash GPU with any modded vbios made by TDP Tweaker without a HW programmer.

If somebody with more experience can test it please. You Can Open the Linux installer with a tool like 7zip, it is not encrypted and you will see 3 files inside (bios, NVFlash and a text file). It should be easy to mod this setup (edit the text file and change the vbios) to SW install any other HP vbios.

The file Quadro_P4000_86.04.56.00.0B.zip is for windows. Just unzip then you will see the setup.
The two other files are for Linux (I have to split it in two cause is more than 2MB). First rename the file "rename me" as Quadro_P4000_86.04.56.00.96.z01, then unzip to see the Linux package. You can use 7zip to open the Linux package and find the vbios and analyze it on Pascal TDP tweaker.
Original files from HPE, no modd have been done.

Which vBios has the highest TGP among 2070 super mobiles? Is it 115W?
Or are there any manufacturers that have shown settings that exceed 115W?

I just got a Quadro P4200 for which I want to limit the TDP to 80W. I tried TDP tweaker but I get "invalid image firmware". Any ideas? I couldn't find an NVflash that works with the modified vBIOS.

You will need a programmer with an adapter to flash it - nvflash cant do this

CH341 WILL NOT flash a .rom file! .bin ONLY!

Also will NOT verify the flash. IMO adds too much garble in the header/right column.
For flash verify, shut down program.Re open and read chip!

i been using ch341 clip from package for 6 years

it's not an issue, it's a "feature" of Quadro card since Pascal...

    for lower setup ?
nvflash target PL or CMD + NVSMI "non-dch drivers" or try luck in AFTERBURNER
lower setup is possible :) ,., .if you need 115w - send ID + subsystem "i try find better vbios"

    edit "example"
Add a power policy entry: nvflash [options] --addpp TGP limitRated 80000
or per app profile "nvflash + help screen"

NVSMI - in driver root folder open in CMD
nvsmi -? or /? "help screen" ,.,drivers must be STANDARD "DCH not contains this tool"

    afterburner
    "when support gpu"
CTL + F and new voltage curve ,.,.last points under oem curve - this limit voltage/TDP

It runs pretty hot in my laptop, around 90C and I don't need the extra power. I only play CS:GO and some older games.

I prefer to stick to the P4200, it's newer tech. I also have a P3200 for which I need to solder the vBIOS chip to get it going. I will see if I stick with the P3200 or the P4200.
Might sell the P4200 later on to get an RTX 3000 or RTX 4000.

P4200 is N18 chip series, P4000 is N17 chip series. The P4200 / 3200 is a refresh of the P4000 / 3000 series. I suspect the N18 uses a slightly better manufacturing process which leads to higher clocks and performance per watt.

There is a chanse but since p4000m is 75w card and p4200m is 100w card they orobably just added 25w to get higher clocks. Dont know really will the next chip number lead to better manufactory

if you don't have an extra THIN device - 115W is normally possible!
.,also you consider replacing the thermal paste ??

pascal is around 91C MAX - 94Cslow down -98C shutdown "or some is +5C more"

in big notebook + full fan speed - 115W/ 65C max ! "115W - 0.8-0.9V new curve ,,if is possitible"
or boost3 run above 1V in low usage "old games -- overheat / modern --running on limit"

try first afterburner compatibility ?? "when it works i will send how to create a new curve + OC" :D
    good luck

The P4000 consume about 65W in game and 85~90W during furmark.
To be honest there isn't significant difference between these "revision" (they both share the A1 revision of the GP104 core) that overcome the "silicon lottery" of these chip, the biggest difference between these is probably the yield
