Don't mix DCH filthy with standalone drivers. You need clean up with DDU and Revo/App Uninstaller if you run DCH drivers and want switch over to normal drivers.

Aparently Mr @alanfox2000 decided to delete his github account so i'll keep posting modded drivers from XtremeG subreddit instead until i find better ones or other modder

    https://www.reddit.com/r/XtremeG/

Another person that releases modded inf's for nvidia drivers:

    https://github.com/CHEF-KOCH/nVidia-modded-Inf/releases

    Edit:

as a rectification, user @hacktrix2006 let me know in private, user @alanfox2000 might have been DCMA'd due to his involvement in Realtek drivers modification. No idea but that appears to be the case.

As a matter of fact and to get everyone out of doubt: I DON'T know alanfox2000 or any other modder of nvidia drivers. I just share their works here!

    Don't confuse things

Hi guys, first thank you for your work it has helped me a lot in the past.

I have a good old AW m17xR3 (had it for 9 years now) which I upgraded with a GTX 780m. With Windows 7 I could get rid of the problem with the HD audio causing white screens and everything ran smoothly.

But today I decided to upgrade to Windows 10, and I am facing this problem again. What I did was removing the nvidia drivers with DDU, then install windows 10, then try to install the modded GEFORCE 430.39 WIN10 driver from https://premamod.wordpress.com/2017/08/15/j95-nvidia-inf/

However when I followed j95's instructions I didn't understand what he meant by " >> DELETE FOLDERS AS SHOWN ABOVE (DON’T SKIP THIS STEP)." and... I skipped this step. Which folders should I delete please, I didn't see anything shown above?

Now I have the 430.39 driver running smoothly (with no sound), but when I reactivate HD audio in the BIOS I run into the white screen issue again. Also when I installed the driver I unchecked geforce experience, chose custom install to select clean install, and I didn't know what I should do with the HD audio driver so I left it checked.

Any clue how to get rid of the white screen issue please? That would be super appreciated.

What he meant by deleting folders as shown is to delete all the folders/files that are not shown in his screenshot, once you are done you should have the exact same files/folders left as shown in his screenshot.
This is assuming that you first downloaded the Nvidia driver from his website and extracted the content from that .exe file.

Really? But that doesn't work for, e.g. now I am trying 425.31 optimus W10, there is no NVPCF folder, and when I remove everything that is not in the list the install fails with "path not found".

Sorry I am a noob with modded drivers.

    You probably forgot this step:

Copy ‘setup.cfg’ to the extracted driver folder

Disable driver signature verification. Install and re-enable driver verification. Google how to disable it

I am having trouble installing drivers from https://puresoftapps-nvidia.blogspot.com/
I will be honest - I was mostly on Xbox and did not update the nvidia drivers since some time in 2019  The last drivers I installed were 419.35 and they did not need modding I think. It seems like this changed again as anything newer gives an error 'This nvidia driver is not compatible with this version of windows; this graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware'. I am on M17x R4, standard 419.35 drivers, Windows 10 1909.
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_13D7&SUBSYS_057B1028
    Test mode is turned on

    Edit:
v451.22 installs fine again without any modded inf files. nVidia's shenanigans...
