I quite resent this comment because not everyone has good internet. As is especially the case with most people in Australia.

Looking from this review, it's quite obvious that people are having problems with connection, especially when the majority of broadband users in Australia use ADSL, which is quite inadequate (and the remainder using ADSL2+ or cable, which are both horrendously slow). To host up to 18 people on our crappy connections would be a total nightmare, and the loss of dedicated servers really killed it for me. To think of shuffling from server to server to find a good game is just appalling and definitely something PC players mustn't go through.

they should've just make a MW 2 campaign edition that costs 30-40 bucks or something for PC since they obviously don't care how MP works for us
oh btw i predict that MW2 will be the most pirated game this century. because the only difference between buying the game and pirating game is the ability to play MP. now that MP is half ruined, i don't think people would justify 60$ for 5 hours of awesome gameplay experience. -
9v9 multiplayer just isn't my thing, neither is matchmaking. I liked cod4 so much because i loved the 24 vs 24 servers, despite all the spawn kills it was still fun.
-
People who have never played the game are trashing it. The single player campaigns of Call of Duty have always been excellent. Well, at least the Call of Duty from IW. Oh well. I'm not the one missing out on the fun. Enjoy your non-excellent FPS experience.

98% of the PC community *might* have canceled their preorders, but how many have or will pick it up within the next few days? Today also brings in a HUGE influx of new players who preordered from STEAM.
Either way, there certainly is no lack of people online to play with. -
I was a big skeptic about the online MP, but im finding that I am actually enjoying it quite a bit.
SP is short but sweet (still wish it was longer, but it was pretty awesome).
MP is not that bad lag-wise. Out of the 15+ multiplayer matches I have played I have only experienced lag in like 2-3 of the matches. I really thought I was going to hate it being 9v9, but the maps are such a size and made in such a way that 9v9 isn't a problem. -
I am finding the SP to be quite hard, very intense and pretty compelling.... Played 1.5 hours last night, I am on the second mission in Brazil... is that far?
-
-
-
-
-
-
why is brazil so hard.. the other parts have been significantly easier.
spoiler
anyone else think that ranger mission in the states is super epic.... it was like FPS shooter version of World In Conflict, almost the exact! -
I find myself at point a lot in Brazil, which makes it harder than in the previous missions.
Reminds me of the SAS Village misssion in MW1 where you had helicopter support and had to fight all the way up to the farmhouse where the Arab guy was in. You are on point the whole way through.
Edit:
I remember when I first got CoD2. I would of started at normal, but my ex had went with me to get the game. So I picked veteran when I loaded it up cause she was watching. I tore through it and I have never looked back. And they says cheerleaders aren't essential to competition..... -
Edit:
I'm finding the veteran on this game easier than it was on CoD4, i mean during Cod4's sniper mission where you have to survive, that took me a long long time to beat on veteran -
I wasn't aware that if you purchase a hard copy of the game that you still need Steam. I bought the PC version for my dad but I would like to install it on my computer as well. Is this not possible since we would be using the same key with our separate Steam accounts?
-
Or share the game on 1 comp and play 1 at a time... what am I missing? -
-
-
I beat it on release, and played online until the servers crashed (I'm on PS3) but I really don't see what the hype was about. The plot was predictable and the weapons don't seem different from each other. You just pick which weapon one you think looks better. People die in just a couple shots from an m4, and you can snipe with an mp5 from across the map. Multiplayer is, overall, meh. It feels less call of duty and more battlefield bad company.
That being said, I'm going to go play online now. cya -
Can you say $310million in 24 hours?
And that's just the US and UK market. -

Lol, also the shares only rose 6 cents? Weird.
-
-
edit:
-
High sales were expected, so most of the value was incorporated into their shares before that happened - otherwise anyone could buy shares in anything before a release and make money.
Was quite funny, a really large bunch of guys I work with queued up at midnight to buy MW2 and then took the following day off work (also asked the Managing Director of a giant firm to join a MW2 clan on our company talkback site). I just bought it in my lunch break on that day and playing it casually. Multiplayer looks nice, feels a bit like Combat Arms style now, but also game feels rushed and there's not much atmosphere even compared to MW1 multiplayer. I'm not in a rush to get into it, I'll enjoy the SP, try the spec ops and once the ranking-rush is over I'll pop back into MP. But if they ruin the MP atmosphere in Diablo 3... by god no amount of game-sales will protect them from my private rank 2 wrath! -
lIes! MW2 is the best why cant anyone admit it?
-
Looking like ill just skip this even for the 360 maybe finally pick up Waw or pick up borderlands shame that the games not living up to the hype.

I thought sales = Higher shares. Im not really into Stock Market and things like that so i know nothing, lol -
But the game is sold out. That means late comers to the party have to buy from scalpers, which can sell them at a higher price (market value) because there is no one else to buy from.
Now if no one was buying tickets, then the value would never go up (no demand).
When you take an econ class, it will make sense.
It is no surprise that MW2 is selling like hotcakes. It's hard to go wrong with hyping an AC 130 perk.
Come on, who doesn't want to drop 105 shells from the sky.
Edit:
Now the share prices right before Activision/Blizzard announced their profits for the end of the quarter will go up when they post they made more money than what people expected. When the people hear that, they'll rush to buy shares of the company, driving up the price of the shares.
That's what you are thinking of. -
-
This game is really good.
IWNet is not as bad as you may all think. Just watch some youtube videos and you will all see it is pretty good. I think it is very fun. Maybe you all should try it out too. -
Pretty much everyone expected the game to do well.
Another weird thing with games is they do well even during a recession.
Guys consider video games as essential, unlike stuff like houses and cars.
 -
In terms of entertainment, mr. economics, games are inferior goods. People have to be entertained sometimes, so when their real income goes down they substitute games for more expensive forms of entertainment. Unfortunately I'm still poor, which means I substitute buying games for downloading games. No skin off my back

lol, people who's opinions actually matter thought it was great though.

Most of the ppl that gave it low ratings actually did that for mission three I bet, I'm personally BURNING to get and play the game, but too bad I dont have a rig just yet, gonna wait for some benchmarks and see how midrange laptops play it. But Overall, the game is a Smash despite the "Kinda" short single player.
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
Hm, your Alienware is dead
It seems like the newer mid ranged cards run this game pretty well(GT 240/4670) -
-
I'm downloading it from steam as we speak.....IT NEEDS TO HURRY ONLY 21 percent done
EDIT: 58 percent now :/ -
I think that score is mostly due to mass protesters who are mad about the limitations to the PC version of MW2.]
That said, DICE can capitalize on this if BF:BC2 lives up to the hype... -
I have been playing mw2 for that last 2 hours, only mp for now. I LOVE IT. it reminds me so much of cod4 on the 360 except with way better graphics and stuff. Is there anyway to enable vsync? because there is some ripping of frames when I play at max settings
-
Here is a real review this one speaks all of the flaws in MW2 especally the PC version
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30501433/vp/33844922#33844922
Also a 2nd petition and more PC users hating the game and more articles of bashing the game which is true

I have become addicted to MP.... its awesome!!! but I have yet to get more than +5 kills in a row so no AC-130 for me
Played with a few NBR guys last night was a good time.
Also spec. ops is pretty cool, have a little trouble finding people to play with tho
if you want to play spec ops with me add Jester87 and ill play. -
