Modern Warfare 2 Averaging a 1.3/10

Those haters are stupid for giving it a 1 out of 10. Sure MP was toned down, but regardless it is a ridiculously amazing FPS with TONS of replay value without mods, dedicated servers, etc. What's hilarious is that all those haters probably are still playing the game. I 100% guarantee it. If you dont buy the game on the basis of the differences in MP from MW to MW2, well, idk what to say. It's not my fault if you miss out on the online shooter of the decade.

That being said, I like it console better for now, because that's the only way I can play =P

 

I dont see why people rated the game a 1/10 its not going to do anything. To me the game is a 6/10 because of the awesome single player and co-ops missions but the multiplayer does kinda of sucks not worth the $60 bucks in my opinion because there is no dedicated servers, 9v9 multiplayer, no mods, etc its like a console game but its terribly ported to PC and also PC users will have to pay for downloadable content which does sucks. It would be a 10/10 if it was like COD4's multiplayer, why change something that been working well anyways

Sorry but im not gonna be caught in the hype of this game unlike some of you here because it wont last long i give it about 3 months tops when the hype dies down and when other PC users start using hacks to get their message around to IW, there is already some progess of enabling developer console commands in MW2 and also enabling people to host dedicated servers in MW2 thanks to AgentGOD for that and i hope it goes well


Overall MW2 is a 6/10

Pros:
Awesome Single Player even though it was short but still epic
Great CO-OPS missions
Many different kinds of weapons
Good optimization on low end graphic cards

Cons:
(Reasons have i stated above)
and a very short longetity unless dedicated servers are added
No ability to lean which its in every FPS game and also in COD1 to 4

Anyways if people that still want to buy the game go for it im not going to tell you that shouldnt buy the game its really up to you

This dude PST Joker was a cod4 modder. All his air mods were stolen and used in mw2. no credit from IW. He had a working tactical nuke and ac130 a year ago.

so they steal the pc communities mods, but they don't think that we know best for the community? dedicated servers definitely aren't the best for the game. (sarcasm)

Pretty sure the ac130 was in the main story for cod4, so it wasn't stolen what so ever. People just can't stop hating on this game.

 

I heard that user made maps in COD4 were stolen in layout and texture base for Modern Warfare 2.

So sad. Oh well, only a matter of time before we get a fully dedicated server version of the game for a much cheaper price than $60 US.

 

I know and its starting to really make me mad coming on NBR and seeing like at least 3 new threads each day of some people ranting about MW2. Well you know what, now its MY turn to rant.

I seriously don't see why you all need to complain so much. Things change. Get used to it. If you really think Activision/IW is going to take you all so seriously then you're kidding yourself.

Despite all the negativity from PC users, the game is still one of, if not the biggest selling games of all time and its only been 1 week since launch. If you really want IW/Activision to listen then why don't you all boycott the game. Oh wait you guys already tried that and failed miserably (see thread(s) on Steam MW2 boycott fail). This is a prime example of why the devs won't take you seriously, so stop complaining.

Complaining about the game will not change anything, and only adds to frustrations and pisses other people off who have to see more and more spam threads about how "MW2 SUCKS!" and "I HATE IW AND MW2!". If you guys want to vent about the game then ask the mods to make a new section made specifically for "Modern Warfare 2 Rants" and do it in there.

Additionally, by complaining about the game it shows that you already bought the game. Therefore you'd have to be pretty naive to not even know about the "crippledness" of the game before launch since I recall numerous threads about "NO DEDICATED SERVERS IN MW2 " and "18 PLAYER MAX ONLINE? " and "$60?!??! OH NO! $10 MORE THAN USUAL! BOYCOTT! ". So say you knew about all these low points of the game before you bought it. Then why the heck would you even go out and buy the game in the first place if you knew you were going to get mad at it later on?!?

Bottom line is this: Either play the game and enjoy it for what it is, or stop playing it/don't buy it in the first place. Basically, STOP COMPLAINING BECAUSE NOBODY CARES! You all sound like 3rd graders who didn't get their cookies in their lunch kit! It is ridiculous. Grow up. Things change and as humans we adapt.

I'm complaining about the game and haven't bought it so there goes half your argument. The other half is just a misinformed attempt to marginalize shady practices.

If all you see is "whining" then you have a shallow concept of what is going on in the industry - time to get in the know. Realize that it's more than just about a botched FPS, it's a precedent being set in the industry for global bar-lowering on quality and price raising on what amounts to a crippled console port.

Typically people who use terms such as 'crybabies' and 'whiners' tend to do so in a loutish manner because they either cannot or refuse to think on a deeper level about what valid points (if any) are being raised. Why? Because it would force them to reconsider. Reconsider their stance, their opinions, and their purchases. Cognitive dissonance - they fear it, so instead they simply clasp their ears and spittle at the mouth as they tell everyone around them to "shut up, it's not true, because I don't want it to be!"

You're right in one regard: nobody cares (or rather, less are starting to care); the savvy gamer is grossly outnumbered by the 'average' consumer; the critical voice is unheard amongst a sea of conformity.

 

I dunno. Looked at it, seems like more of the same? I enjoyed BF2 for a while but the sameyness got to me after a while. I like more depth even in a MP shooter - I've yet to find it though.

My MW2 review - meh. Maybe I'm just not an FPS guy, or am a 'all the gear, no idea' type but I've never hit the goldilocks zone with these blockbuster shooters - everyone's either too good, or too crap.

 

My god, this thread is still alive. But notice all the haters disappearing once they've actually played the game.

 

MW2 is unbelievably good, couldn't have asked for a better sequel to COD4. Multiplayer is amazing, and single player is sometimes good enough to distract me occasionally from it.

 

I dont like MW2, because of many reasons!! one of them is in my sig. lol.

 

All these negative reviews is just going to give L4D2 and Dragon Age origins. More business.

 

I wouldn't really consider myself a big gamer, and I never actually played COD4 (I know, I know ), so when I started playing the single player campaign of MW2, I was completely blown away- I have to this day never seen a video game so perfectly executed, in terms of environment and feeling. I actually found myself holding my breath climbing up the vertical ice with the ice picks, and chasing that guy down through Rio De Janeiro was practically like playing through an actual action film. It has a truly cinematic feeling to it, and I've found it to be completely engrossing.

Haven't played a whole lot of multiplayer yet, as I've been getting my @$$ kicked horribly, but it is awesome nonetheless.

 

Blabus, you're supposed to play the first MW singleplayer, its a sequel.. Its like watching the matrix reloaded without watching the matrix first - retarded..

anyway, it was a cool sp, nice weapons ect, but only 4 hours lol.. apparently OK for games to be so short nowadays. Well i cant complain i didnt pay one cent, and i wouldnt ever have done that because if i did it would be to play the MP too and that seems like a joke to me.

Well I did read the plotline and story of COD4 before I started playing MW2, so I know what happened and was able to follow along, but I do kind of regret not playing through the SP.

The gripes about MW2's SP have nothing to do with the execution, story or the script.

Sadly, it is the length of the campaign. Such quality execution and production all buried because it wasn't long enough. People just need to give it a chance. I'd rather take a well executed 4 hour game over a semi well executed 30 hour game.

Bad execution only makes me want to turn off games. Rather than fighting your opponent, you are fighting the interface.

 

It was an awful story. It was like watching a really, really bad Hollywood movie, except it was worse. You had to play through it rather than just watch it.

 

In your opinion. People hate movies that win Best Picture awards, video games aren't much different.

 

It is my opinion, but there wasn't one original aspect of the COD4 story. Everything about it was a cliche.

 

I just played with the whole IW clan on the pc version

no joke, haha they were all running around with dual 1887 shotties and owning everyone, they wouldn't comment about the game and said they couldn't even though I kept prying for answers.......

haha thanks, Well I thought they were trolls also but most of them were level 70 and some of them were on their second prestige.....and I cursed them out and instead of cursing back like a troll would they didn't.........(I raged when they wouldn;t answer my questions about there being no dedicated servers)

money > everything in today's world, since IW got lots of money why would they care about the users ? The only time people are going to get responses is when DLC's are going to be released just to trick people into buying them hence getting more money and thats all

After playing god knows how many years of cod's (since cod2 actually) im pretty confident this is the worst version they are going to release (i hope so at least!). Went from 27 (!) ping to 80+ atm and since people in my clan are from other countries as well when we play together their ping is over 150... Which for those who never played in Cod league and dont know what im talking about, yes it makes a HUGE difference...

If you are going to ask how do i know the actual ping there are some posts in IW forums and in general forums that let you change the connection lines to 10 for eg then set how much ms per line is. Makes it way easier to know your actual ms instead of 100 per line ;/

 

I'd buy this over 3 $20 bargain bins.
