Why even do stress tests? The servers were down for ~3 hours during the open beta. Did they not learn anything?

i microed the whole login procedure into one mouse button and made it click on forever.... still im not getting in!!!

 

What a big waste of time.

My friend convinced me to get it, so he went to the midnight release and got us both a copy (even though I wasn't really keen on playing D3). We then wait until 3AM, log in spam for 30 minutes and the servers are down.

Quite infuriating wasting all that time and sleep for nothing.

 

Now this is frustrating, I wasn't even too keen on getting it release night except for some urging from friends. Anyways, I'll post my battle net tag later.

Played through Act 1, omgsh, I really liked the story line so far. Amazing job by Blizzard.

I just heard some korean finished diablo 3 in 7hours. I'm glad that I didn't buy this game , 3 more days for resident evil , still waiting guildwar 2

Some Korean finished the game in seven hours for NORMAL difficulty, that's just finishing the story line and not trying other difficulties. If you take the time to experience and listen to the characters, it'll take around 10-15 hours to finish normal.

That's redonculous! But he was probably just speeding through it. I've been on Act 1 for god knows how long now, but that's because I'm trying to find a 4 man party all the time.

 

Not sure why this game felt different with other rpg/campaign games as finishing the game in 1 difficulty doesn't feel enough. Somebody mentioned somewhere that the game on 1st difficulty will take about 15 hours to finish. Maybe the korean you are mentioning doesn't even spend time knowing the story, hence finishing the 1st difficulty in 7 hrs.

D1 and D2 are considered classic games because of the story and gameplay during that time. And D3 right now doesnt fall short in the story-telling department. At least based on what I see now.

Exactly. I too spent 2 hours up to killing Leoric.

I also dont feel that there's a need to hurry in playing this game. Not like other games that you want to reach the max level asap, like what I'm trying to do with Tera now.

 

How does someone else's speedrun make any difference as to whether or not a game is worth purchasing? It's like those dudes that decry a WoW expansion as garbage just because the top guild in the world was able to clear the raid content in a week.

I've gotten as far as making my characters. Looks like they will post an update on the maintenance at around 2:30 PST. Hopefully the wait is worth it

There is some question as to the challenge level... The whole normal difficulty seems to be "tutorial" easy in D3. I haven't used a potion or had to run away and I am not sure its possible to die without AFK'ing in combat so far... Then again, I have only been able to play as a Witchdoctor so far in release. It may be that this class is simply overpowered...


As a side note... if an MMO's entire expansion's content takes less than a week to clear the raid content added with no experience in it and that counts levelling up to meet the new level cap and gearing up for the new content; then yes... it is horrendously pitiful.

Then again, that's pretty much what everyone has come to expect from WoW. They cannot ask any more from that audience or their paying customers would up and quit as it would be "too hard".

Thankfullly, D3 does not use that financial model.
