Guys, you might see more drastic changes when going from 179.48 to 186.03, perhaps.
DarkSilver, I do plan on having some new comparative benchmarks up soon-ish.

RainMotorsports Formerly ClutchX2
Bleh nice to see (as i just got far cry 2) but unless its any better then DOX 185.85 at this time then i will wait to see if he messes with this one.
-
I hope I could have a higher and stable overclock value for my Nvidia 9500M GS. -
spradhan01 Notebook Virtuoso
Just an oridinary desktop right click. It takess like 6-7 seconds. You can see my rig and I dont know how its not compatiable. -
Because when you download forceware from Nvidia, it is written, DELL should download from DELL. -
spradhan01 Notebook Virtuoso
179 series works well. Just 18 series doesnot. Right click takes time, when I maximize a movie, then it starts flickering. Anyone facing similar issue with 88m and 98m series?
-
Was a little bit faster in Crysis and Far Cry 2 than 185.85, enough for me to keep it. Every bit helps!
-
d..ddow...downlo....downl....*word*.. now
-
Hmm, anyone can post up the differences between 179.48 and this new one? Just curious if it's worth the update.
-
-
Yup, update everyone! You get better FPS in games
-
-
I would like to said that 186.03 is surely better than 179.48. -
Going to switch from 185.85 DOX to these. It will be handy if they run cooler
-
getting better load temps, that's all i care!
-
Yeah... good driver.
-
Just ran GPU Caps Viewer for 10 minutes on the fur rendering test. The test was performed on the rig in my sig, on a Zalman NC2000 with the fans on max.
Maximum temperature: 75 (it took a while to reach this temp tbh).
That's much lower than the 79-81 I was getting before. -
hmmm... seems to have increased my idle temps by 5C...
although the weather has gotten a bit warmer
guess ill have to play around with it a bit to see whats causing it -
I am still using 185... the released highlights under 186 seemed like they haven't changed, do you think they will update that page?
-
I will post later a gta 4 benchmark.

Prototype performance seems to be better. Smoother gameplay and better FPS hardly ever goes under 30 FPS.
Everything Maxt out with 2xAA at 1440x900 -
Idle temps a little higher for me than with my previous 185.81, ingame FPS much the same.
Not worth the upgrade for me.
XPS 1530, T9300, 4GB, 8600M GT @ stock, Vista -
Darth Bane Dark Lord of the Sith
It appears these are on the same performance as dox 185.85, but with lower temps???
-
how do I check my nvida drivers that I'm currently using? I have an asus g50vt a1 that I bought last christams. It has the original stock drivers and my 9800m gs can get to about 85 degrees c.....will this new 186.03 cool this temp down and give it better performance in games from the stock drivers to the 806.03?
-
http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/
This will show you the driver version -
I have forceware 176.23 /vista64 drivers...they are old? Should I update to 186.03 for better performance and temp?
-
oh, they are old yes
Can't see the image btw... -
-
All notebooks are different so no can give you an exact answer on how your temps will change
I say go for it since these are much newer than your current drivers and should improve your performance quite a bit -
So I download the drivers from there website
I uninstall the previous drivers with driversweeper
Then I restart my computer
install new drivers
then restart again?
I just wannan make sure These are the steps before I do them. -

You must do that, becouse an old driver leaves "junk" on your registry. That can make crash when you install the new driver or make conflict between them. Like high temps. bad performance ect. ect. ect.
-
....what do i do here... -
1. Remove all NVIDIA drivers, including Display.
The new drivers has new version of Display and audio drivers -
I have never used driver sweeper or uinstalled my drivers. I have just installed it, and I got no problems with that.
-
-
-
I don't think it's necessary
And the Nvidia HD audio is tricky. If I update it or delete my Acer EAudio will up, so I think I only will remove the display drivers (If I shoud remove the driver) -
-
-
Haha.
Many do that
Maybe I should uinstall it and install it again? Nah, this runs just fine, and I don't notice any bad performance.
EDIT: Maybe it's a stupid idea to install a new driver on a top of another. Hmm, I think I will remove all my Nvidia drivers and then reinstall the new ones. -
Give driver sweeper a try -
It's about 2 million years ago since I used driversweeper but yes, I'll give it a try.
Last time I used it I should do like this: First uinstall all the drivers, and then download driversweeper and add the following:
Enable the multiple filter.
Add following to the filter:
Nvida, Nvida wdm and Nvidia stereo.
Run the cleaner and reboot.
Install the new driver.
Is that correct? -
I get this when after uninstalling my drivers after robboting when im trying to driversweep.
what do i do?
-
Have you re-booted in safemode?
