Hipsters are using portable typewriters now, not laptops. You probably haven't heard of it.

I bought a pair of Beats headphones because they are more comfortable than earbuds and they fold up to fit easily in my carry-on luggage. My gf bought a MBP because she liked the appearance and the resale value is insanely high compared to other laptops. You can resell them a year later at pretty close to what you paid for it.

Apple is complete . Who cares about build quality anyways? And why would anyone drop a laptop, on purpose, on the floor?

Anyone who travels a lot and/or moves his laptop around a lot cares about build quality (I hope), e.g. businesspeople.

Seems like we have a lot of knee-jerk Apple haters here.

They're also the world's most-sued company, so they give as good as they take...

How did a discussion about gaming laptops turn into an Apple bashing/defending thread?

@Melody because of some version or corollary of Godwin's law.

I don't care about resale value on an MSI; when I buy one, I intend to keep it. Trading up to the "newer model" each year isn't cost efficient--either with cars or computers. As to Beats? Sennheiser HD439's (bass modded) sound better than Beats Pro's...and cost about 80% less. And I'll take a brand that never (or seldom) breaks--but has longer service turnaround--over one with "insta-swap" at a service shop, but likes to regularly kick your dog (if you catch my meaning).

MSI's "new look" has some appealing features to me. I don't like fake chrome at all--so less (or none) of it is better. The most appealing laptop design is one extremely understated, with hidden cues as to the power inside--like the chassis lighting MSI has used. Laptop equivalent of Clark Kent by day, Supercomputer by night.

    P.S.
    I don't have knee-jerk hate for apple. I have a long-held, deep-seated, well-researched, time-tested, factually-based hatred for apple.
