However, that one is based on the desktop version, not the mobile one. It will work on laptops, but people have been saying that the nvidia's mobile 195.62 version is better for laptops then the desktop version.

They're for Vista as well. Someone commented these seem less 'stuttery' than the official 196.52 so will probably give them a shot, thats my main complaint with the newer WHQLs, they seem to be afflicted by a lot more little pauses than the old ones, and dont feel quite as smooth even at the same framerate, so if these sort that out then bonus.

Edit: Ah,mobile version isn't out yet. Will wait until they release the mobile version before I try it, inf modding a mod driver sounds like a recipe for disaster haha

got too many heat problems... everything else worked as magic... also seems like it goes to 3D mode when i'm on dekstop or reading on notebookreview.com.. so i went back to 186.81... NVDIA has really screwed up the 195 series drivers...

I'm hearing a lot of horror stories here...
anyone else find that the new drivers come with a new service: NVIDIA Display Driver Service (nvsvc.exe)? Disabled it for now, just seems to be cruftware. Funny, that was one of the reasons I hated ATI.

I wouldn't expect that soon, if at all. You can try it with the INF from LV2G, it's no big deal.

Bit of a horror you think it's new, it's existed for years. :)

    To quote tweakguides:

"Nvidia Display Driver Service - This service generally doesn't have an essential function. In my experience, most people can safely disable it and not run into any difficulties or reduced functionality whatsoever. In fact disabling this service can improve Windows startup and shutdown times and general performance. However, some people report potential issues with temperature monitoring on their graphics cards if this service is disabled. In general if you feel you are experiencing any other strange behavior due to the disabling of this service, set it back to Automatic and restart it. Note: In Vista, the Nvidia Display Driver Service may be a startup item (as opposed to an actual service) called NvSvc in some versions of the Forceware drivers, but the same description applies. Note further that in more recent Forceware releases you may need to keep this service enabled in Vista or Windows 7 for Antialiasing and/or Anisotropic Filtering to work properly. Again, start off by disabling it and then only re-enable it if you find specific problems or certain functionality is unavailable or not working properly."

Well a mobile version is actually promised just a few days ago. Also the inf from LV2G doesnt work well for me with the 195.62, tried it when they were still on beta etc and caused some issues with the installer/uninstaller. I can wait til tweakforce release some 'official' mobile variants.

I don't know what you guys are experiencing, but these drivers are working well for me. I got core 2 duo 2.4ghz, 9600m gt 512 ddr3 and windows vista 32bit, i'm not experiencing any of the heat issues you guys are talking about, nor freezes or other things, it works just as fine as before. Maybe there is a minor difference i haven't noticed yet, but since i don't, i'll stick with these ones.

Anyone else tried HDMI out with the new drivers yet? Video worked fine but I couldn't get the audio to work; reinstalled hdmi audio drivers, normal audio drivers, chipset drivers, and gpu drivers none of them worked. Rolled back to 186.81 and works like a charm.

Why 195.62_notebook_winvista_win7_32bit_international_whql new drivers are not installed, and I get a message that I do not have compatible hardware.
My notebook is the one in my firmn, I have a Nvidia 280M.
That's what happens with the new drivers 195.62_notebook_winvista_win7_32bit_international_whql that I can not install?

Thanks for the update Darth, will take a look at these tomorrow, once I'm happy some tweaks I made with the WHQLs are still working fine for my work around, see if they reduce the minor stutters etc.

How to force him? Up to you. :p :p :p
I saw a lot of people here were using TweakForce? Any benchmark like compared to Dox and 186.82?

Here's another problem: my clocks won't stick.

If I "overclock" from ASUS reference clocks (500/1250/799) to NVIDIA reference clocks (550/1375/950), close the Control Panel and select Yes for 'Use these settings next time Windows starts?', the clocks still go down to 500/1250/799 when I restart.

So far the highest my card gets is 88c. Which is 1 or 2 higher than the old drivers. I may try the tweakforce drivers.

None installed, I get the message "no compatible hardware is detected," how is this possible if I have a 280M Nvidia is going with this latest version of drivers?

On Vista SP2-32bit I get a 2% performance drop for 2D. Although this may not appear much, the desktop does feel less snappy especially when using the internet where it feels slightly jerky when lots of graphics are on the page (scrolling). 9600M GT

This driver is identical to the 195.62 WHQL drivers except for the following:

Several bug fixes to support the new Adobe Flash 10.1 Beta 2 release. Learn more here.
Adds new SLI and multi-GPU profiles for Avatar Demo, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising Demo, and Wings of Prey.

I do not know how mobile drivers 195.62 are better than desktop, maybe it is so for others ... not for me.

The driver works fine on my 9800GTX+ on the tower but on my 9600m GT on the Asus Acer 6935G it runs HOT as hell and the notebook shuts down ...

back to the older 186.81 on the notebook and everything is back to normal.

what I could see, was that the 195.62 worked better for gaming on the laptop ... though no use of that since it goes so hot that the notebook shuts down ...
For some reason the fans were on idle/low speed almost till the end ... If I am right, the gpu on the notebook uses cpu fan ..

well, I will pass on that one as it seems for the mobile ... waiting for the next one ...

I tested these 195.62 drivers out and in the Control panel where there are usually a list of all of the games on my system, that is no longer there. This only happened previously when I tested out desktop drivers modified for my laptop. I am beginning to think that these drivers aren't even geared towards mobile users but just made to install on them. My GPU also stays in 3D mode for longer than it should so back to 186.81 yet again.
