It plays fine on my desktop which has Win 7 x64 installed on it.

Keyboard for arcade racing games is absolutely fine, I actually much prefer it over wheels and controllers.
The plus side with keyboard is that you can steer very quickly, because it's not analog like a driving wheel or a analog stick where how fast you turn the wheels depends on how quickly you can physically maneuver with the driving wheel or analog stick; this of course is also the down side of the keyboard - you don't have more refined controls over acceleration, braking and steering.
But you will learn to compensate for that by tabbing the keys (forward/backward, left/right) quickly.
In DiRT2, I can easily finish a race in the 1st place on serious difficulty with keyboard, 3rd or 4th place with xbox controller, and always in last place with the MOMO wheel I have. Go figure. -

Ten bucks for Metro 2033? Hell yeah.
-
I hope those indie packs make an appearance during the Christmas sale. I try not to buy games when I don't have the time to play them, but now I am kicking myself for having missed some of those deals.
-
Im happy i got left4dead2 for like 5 bux lol, the game is pretty good indeed, though I cant see any servers to play on line, or people just play coop?

Start a lobby, invite your friends, and in the options choose "Best dedicated server". Then start. You're team will be hosted--hopefully--on a server.
And there is options to have friends only. -
I was playing dirt2 today, and its nice and all, but Id like to know if there is a way around all the talking in the game, cuz it gets annoying to hear that guys talking between the races(its a drag), Id like to skip those parts and go straight to the races but it seens like escaping doesnt do any thing...
-
All the yapping in Dirt 2 is annoying but after the first dozen races or so they've said pretty much all they need to say and leave you alone. I'd prefer a way to go into the next race without dropping into the 3D menu. Like a "random next race" button on the complete menu.
Another annoying thing this game does that all modern racing games seem to do is drop you into the replay automatically after every race. I don't know who thinks this is a good idea. -
The Orange Box Set: probably the best $7.50 I've spent in a long time! TF2 on it's own is $19.99, so there's no denying the steal this was!
Question: does it go HL2, HL2:ep1, HL2:ep2, HL2: Lost Coast, or does Lost Coast come right after vanilla? Thanks! -
Lost Coast is a mere tech demo, it came out after HL2.
It doesn't have any story or plot elements related to HL2, except you do get to see how combines launch head crab rockets. -
anyone have poker night? if so how is it?
-
Here's a 20-minute quick look video about it, see for yourself:
Quick Look EX: Poker Night at the Inventory - Giant Bomb -
Got the Arkham Asylum the other for 10$. Always wanted to replay it
My favorite game from last year. -
I just started Arkham Asylum again. I didn't get very far the first time for some reason. I want to play through it. I like these kinds of games. Reminds me of Splinter Cell, Deus Ex, and Escape from Butcher Bay. Pseudo-RPG/FPS/Action/Puzzler.

They'll probably add a battery/power level for the detective mode or something to reduce usage

so basically u have to have the games in order to achieve the objectives so u can participate... thats unfair, but anyway...
anyone know if chime is somehow interesting? -
buy the game
-
looks like chime is a nice puzzle game
EDIT: just played for a while. It's an ok game. nice if you like strange techno music. -
^^Thanks for the feedback. For $1.25 is a nice price..: )
Cin... -
yep. played it a bit more. The music really isn't bad. beat the steam treasure hunt objective, now I'll shelf it while i beat VVVVVV and world of goo. haha. I will come back to it though.
-

Wow the grand prize winner will be able to select 100 games (regardless of price) to add to his/her collection.
I wonder how many people will actually be eligible for this. -
-
I've completed three objectives so far, so I imagine it won't be all that difficult to get 7 more.
-
anyone played eets?
-
eets is a fun little puzzle/casual game. A baby game for sure but worth a few bucks if you're into that sort of thing.
-
it's only $1.25 right now
-
Can't wait for the next unveiling of the treasure hunt! Valve is genius for these deals through steam!
-
LOL. Final prize, 100 games of users choosing. Come on. I hope they send you backup DVD's. lol. That's ridiculous.
-
-
I don't know what's worse: that you get 100 games and you can't gift them, or that you have to pick games available up to that point (pre-orders are OK).
Now, if they gave you 100 chances to buy games as they come out, then we are talking. -
Yea I can't imagine having to buy 100 games right now. There simply aren't that many that I'm interested in. But, if they gave me 100 games to buy whenever... I probably would never have to pay for another game in my life!
-
thats like living in heaven...
-
It's probably 100 items. So that'd include DLC. So for some games that's 50 things already!
-
If you can redeem it any time, or even gift some, that would be best. I don't play too many games that have a large amount of DLC.
I have all my steam games backed up to a hard drive, but I'm gonna need a new one. Just bought a 750GB one recently, and even with NTFS compression, I only get about 10% compression or 90% of original, so not saving much space. -

I wonder if anybody has caught onto the statistical standpoint of this steam "giveaway".
They are giving away like 10 games every 2 days, and 100 games at the end.
Nice of them no?
However to have a chance to win these games you have to complete tasks in various games (minus the few free steam client based ones), in witch they just so happen to be choosing some low priced games around $2.50 or so from small studios.
People participating are in the hundreds of thousands, so your chance to win even with the "extra credit" is so slim.
But on Steams side they are all laughing it up because they just sold 200,000 copies of a game for $2.50 to everybody, that probably cost them less than a dollar for the licensing for.
Thats $1.50 profit per purchase of just one of these games, multiply by 200,000 people.
They bank like $300,000.00 and then have to simply give away 10 games in exchange (that they do not pay full price for)
Not so charitable IMO, but a brilliant business move. -
but hey, it's a game for $2.50! the games aren't incredible, no, but if you want to spend the $2.50, then it's a win win.
EDIT: Not to mention that I'm happy to help out a not very well known company if they make a decent product. -

Yeah I like most of the games.
Just saying, they are not giving away anything, we are paying for it -
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
Well, the people who don't win, sure.
The winner sure gets a nice prize. -
Bought Poker at the Inventory recently for 2.99USD. It sure is hella fun and addictive and plus it gives you free TF2 unlockables items!
-
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
It gives you TF2 items?
I like the game too, shame its not multiplayer. Even if it was just 2 player via direct connection or something it would last a lot longer. I also wish they had more lines, they start to repeat all the same lines in just 2 or 3 games.
However at random they pull off some pretty funny stuff you never heard before.
I only caught the last part of this long story the Heavy was telling about killing a engineer and it was so funny that I just have to record it next time I hear it so I can put it on youtube or something. -

Im sure there would be a grace period to download them and back them up, and have a client that launches the games. -

Valve is a publisher now. They aren't any more likely to go under than EA. In fact, less likely, since people love Valve.
-
But yeah, obviously the only developer capable of putting games on PC, Mac, and console without sacrificing quality (except when M$ gets in the way) has no chance of going under. And now they publish? Oh yeah.
-
What do you guys expect from the Steam Christmas sale? Are they usually better than the other sales or just about the same?
Also, is there a friend finder as in Facebook? Or the only way to find out if my friends are on Steam is asking them?
Thanks!
