Or maybe, you can try to get it as a gift from mecheck my sig.
-
Good catch
-
Is $23 worth it for the single player?
-
For Left 4 Dead? Not really. The game is really a multiplayer game, and playing the campaign with bots just isn't nearly as good as all the things you can do online (versus, survival, etc).
-
OK. Well, I never plan on playing it online, so I guess I won't be buying it.
-
it's a multiplayer game, so a firm no if you don't intend to play online.
-
HAWX 40% off, pretty snazzy, although I don't have $30 right now, oh well... Ubisoft games tend to go down in price after a couple months anyways. I picked up Double Agent from Steam for 9.99... so I think I can wait on this one
It is tempting though. And kind of surprising, I thought L4D was the weekend deal. -
Got the Hawx, was hesitate at once but after checking initial review for Velvet Assassin...
-
Updated
- HAWX 40% off this weekend
- King's Bounty: The Legend 10% off

Defense Grid: The Awakening only 4,75€ now (instead of 18.99€
I would recommend it to anyone who likes tower-defence type of games .. ever since I played PixelJunk Monsters on PS3, I love these games.
-
Mirror's Edge is now $19.99 on steam
-
Universe at War: Earth Assault is just 5 bucks!!!!
-
Strange, it's still showing up as 49.99 for me. It's $19.99 at Direct2drive though.
Bought it, hope it's decent.... and that I have time to play. -

I'm kind of busy today, but I'd like to hear what people think of Universe At War. I'm not usually big into strategy games, and this one didn't get amazing reviews, but reading the reviews reminded me of Starcraft, with the 3 vastly different races, which I loved for quite a few years. Thoughts?
-
who cares! its 5 bucks, aha
-
haha yeah, but that happens almost every weekend! 5 bucks adds up
I have a TON of games I haven't played yet because of Steam! This ones just another on the list....
-
I'm surprised Defense Grid is this much fun for only $5! Universe at war is also another really good pickup for people that like RTS's.
-
Got Universe at war... DLing now hope its ok, but for 5 bucks WHATEVER!
-
Just got Defense Grid: The Awakening. Ditto on Pixel Junk Monsters serving as a gateway drug for this genre. I'd played a few TD games in Starcraft/Warcraft III but nothing hooked me like PJM did. I liked the demo for this so I thought I'd give it a shot.
-
Defense Grid is a great game, especially for 5 dollars. I'd recommend it.
-
Anyone here pre ordered Killing Floor? It looks quite fun and because the engine is unreal 2.5 it has pretty low system specs.
-
Haha yeah I felt the same way when I bought it Saturday.
I guess I'll go ahead and buy Defense Grid. These five dollar games are just too easy to justify. -
I'll spend 5 dollars when ever on pretty much any game ever so STEAM is probably going to get 5 bucks a week from me for the next..... well until they stop this 5 dollar deals thing.
-
As a huge fan of Popcap (by huge, I mean I bought all three Peggles) I friggin' LOVE Plants vs. Zombies.
-
I blind bought Defense Grid, and so far it is awesome. The graphics are way more than I was expecting from a $5 game, and it's gameplay is addicting.
-
Defense Grid has probably been the best 5 dollars I've ever spent on an entire game. I just bought Killzone 2 recently and I've been playing Defense Grid way more than it.
I don't know if thats more a testament to my love for tower defense games or my waning interest in FPS's -
i got universe at war but the product key they gave me is shown as invalid when i tried to sign in live, anyone else having the same problem?
-
What are some other good tower defense games?
-
Some will know better than me but Warcraft III has a lot of tower defense mods. Starcraft had some that were fun too. I think Pixel Junk Monsters for the ps3 is one of the best and a lot of fun. It is also coming out for psp later this year. There is also another TD game that was released for ps3 but I haven't bought it (aesthetic is somewhat similar to Defense Grid).
This flash adaptation of one of the wc3 mods is here: http://novelconcepts.co.uk/FlashElementTD/
I think its fun to mess around with every now and then.
Anyone know some games I've left out? -
There are about a hundred TD flash games for free on the internet. I won't tell you how to find them as it's pretty straight forward.

Updated
- Dark Sector, Universe at War: Earth Assault, and Stalin vs. Martians no longer discounted
-
Updated again
- changed formatting slightly
- Football Manager Live 50% off and first 4 months free
-
Defense Grid is fun for $5. Only had it for 1 night so far and only have 2 levels left to finish. I'll see how the replay factor is, there are some other modes to be unlocked.
-
Friggin' Plants vs. Zombies is awesome.
-
Because of the upcoming sniper update for TF2, be on the lookout for a free or discounted weekend of TF2. It usually happens when a new update comes out
-
Call of Duty WoW 50 percent off this weekend looks like I am going to finally play it!
-
That also means that one should refrain from buying anything during that period as the servers are swamped with requests and downloads stall...
-
Couldn't resist, so I just...go it.
-
Indeed, I could not resist as well.
-
I love how steam has brought the world of discounted games to us. Its so much better for us and the developers because they are able to make sales to people that would have never bought the game (like me for example with CoD WoW).
I just wish I had caught the DoW II sale because I am not willing to pay full price for that game, but I want it... -

CoD5 the new one? I wonder how good it is.
I admit I am disappointied they went old school again, I thought modern warfare in CoD4 was brilliant and earned it one of my favorite FPS games of all time in single player. -
You have to realize CoD 4 MW was made by the original guys that made the CoD franchise and CoD WoW was made by the guys that did CoD 3. The next CoD is going to be Modern Warfare 2 and its going to be made by the original CoD guys again. I think its interesting how they are going back and fourth making the games.
CoD 4 was great and CoD WoW got very good reviews so why the hell not for 50 percent off and killing Nazi zombies? FORGET ABOUT IT!
Now its just hard to make the decision to get the killing floor as I have L4D, CoD5 and the Haunted for zombie/monster co-op multiplayer killing goodness.
Help me make the decision should I spend the extra 15 and have ANOTHER game or just hold off... I dont know what to do and I think I am going to get that plants versus zombies game.... it never stops. -
Yup
the new one. It seems nice so far, definitely not better than MW but worth the $25. Graphic wise it's a bit improved. And I don't know if it's just me, but I find the menu a bit depressing. Other than that, it's a good game. I am going to post some screen shots in a few
-
I haven't tried MW yet, but will definitely try to get it before MW2 comes out. I love the final mission, Downfall in WaW though. It's a great challenge~
Also, Spy Update?!
-
Updated
- Defense Grid: The Awakening, the Aspyr games, Kings Bounty: The Legend, and Helldorado are no longer discounted
- Call of Duty: World of War is 50% off this weekend, only $24.99
- Civ IV complete pack 50% off until May 21, only $35.99
- Pre-purchase Damnation and get Second Sight for free!
-
I wonder how is Damnation... I love TPS
-
The 50% is not accurate. The regular cost is $40. So it's only 10% off. And the Steam sale actually does say 10%, not 50%. Amazon has it for $38, or 5% off. The 50% off you're getting is probably relative to the $70 that the European Complete edition costs in the U.S. on Amazon.
-
Good catch, I wrote that incorrectly. Fixed!
