I spent a lot of money this week, i wish I had some for world at war.... :[

Anybody know anything about l4d specials coming up?
-
CoD5 is quite good. Captures the feel of CoD2, with some new goodies(like the flamethrower). Plus the multiplayer is great.
Also, Valve is BRILLIANT. I am going to buy this game when I get home. Multiplayer is worth it, imo. -

- Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell, and Splinter Cell Double Agent are 50% off for a week
- Freedom Force and Freedom Force vs The Third Reich are 10% off for a week

Dang how I missed the L4D offers! Today I was like "hey, you know what would be really cool? LEFT 4 DEAD! there should be some offers or something.." but after I checked the price in Steam I realized that I'm late. The next L4D offer will probably be in a few months, if not following the release of L4D2.
-
Freedom Force is awesome! Already bought mine.

Updated
- Light of Altair and Unreal Tournament 3 discounted
- Penumbra Survival Horror Games discounted this weekend
-
Is light of altair any good? Looks like an interesting time killer... sort of like a combination of sim city and supreme commander...but I could be wrong.
Guess this'll give me no excuse to finally pick up UT3 -
-
Ugh...Why's steam always give me problems. They obviously hate the troops because there's no APO option when trying to buy games, so I have to use an old address, that they tend not to recognize/frown upon =(.
-
I bought the Penumbra pack, it's supposed to be a pretty decent game, look forward to playing it.
-
Would it be against forum policy to ask if someone could Gift me a couple games and then pay them via pay pal (or visa versa if they didn't feel comfortable).
-
The sending it to you, no... but I believe it's against EULA to pay someone for a "gift". In any case, when Prey was $5 and it wasn't available for me to buy because of country restrictions, I had someone in the US gift it to me and I paid them....
Guess it's up to you. I've heard of people losing their accounts because of buying cheap steam games on Ebay and they were gifted to them... but it's more safe to assume that those persons could have been using stolen games, illegitimate credit cards to pay for the games, etc.... if you have a friend gift it to you, I doubt it's a big deal.
Hopefully this isn't stepping over any forum rules though. -

- Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 66% off, only $4.99
It seems like Steam is making this obsolete... they added a "Specials" tab to their home page: http://store.steampowered.com/ -
Good catch crash, I didn't see that Specials tab. Very helpful for us to save more money though, lol.
BTW, Penumbra's a pretty intense game, I freaking hate those dogs though... I had to watch a Youtube video on how to kill them because one kept chasing me through a door and I didn't take the time yet to sneak around it 4 times...
Other than that, pretty cool game. -

I like it, most obvious place to ask about the game that's discounted.

Updated
- MMO games are discounted 20-75% on Steam
-
I wish they would bring the original CS back to the 1.3 version hitboxes and rifle recoil. The new skins and stuff made my FPS so slow. But I did jump on the unreal tourney deals awhile back.
-
This thread is great. I hardly ever check out the Steam store, at least not on a regular basis.
From some of the posts earlier in this thread, it's clear that a lot of people would have missed the deals if they weren't posted on this board.
So good work everyone.(Especially Crash)
-
I wish they had a deal this weekend on Guild Wars GOTY. I want to get a couple friends playing this with me but none of us want to spend $40 on the game with expansions, especially since we're not sure if it's for everyone. I'm sure everyone would have gotten Prophecies for $10 though. Oh well...

Steam is quite on a discount spree lately, funny, because of how the economy is, thanks for this thread, man.

Valve is simply genius, their implementation of the STEAM game distribution system is nearly flawless, no wonder why every developer wants their games to go on STEAM.
-
yea its a terrific concept. they need more games on it tho INCLUDING legacy/old games. the hard to find classics. basically tey should have everything on there. then its a pure winner

so does anyone think oblivion game of the year edition for $23.99 is worth it?
-
Oblivion's a pretty good game... depends on if you've played it before. Mods are a huge part of the Elder Scrolls experience though, and apparently at the moment the script extender programs don't work with either, so I would maybe want to wait for those...

Would really like to buy Empire: Total War but my geriatric w3j can't handle it and I'm not building a computer until next summer. Of course, that time frame could change if SC 2 is absolutely unplayable on my laptop when it comes out.
