Desktop GPU:
4K performance (via techpowerup):
780 Ti --> 980 Ti = 55% Improvement
980 Ti --> 1080 Ti = 67% Improvement
1080 Ti --> 2080 Ti = 38% Improvement
-
While this is true in name, it is a bit misleading in pricing. Which is why everyone here is doubly compounded in disappointment. So we have lower % performance increase at high price increase resulting in close to 0% performance increase at the same price.
-
Personally its not worth the upgrade if you already have a 1060GTX, 1070GTX & 1080GTX.Techdude594, steberg, jaybee83 and 2 others like this. -
I am not sure why the OP is all that surprised. Was it expected to be a leap and bound in performance gains? Almost everything these days are smaller incremental gains due to the faster turn around times in releases.The faster releases translate into smaller performance gains.
-
That's better than I expected. I was expecting something like 10-15% improvement, but 22% is pretty decent. Would you say that this puts the 2070 above the 1080 max-q in terms of performance?
-
What’s wrong with the 2070 non max q? Especially at 1080p
-
Oh nothing in particular, it's just that the difference in performance between the 2060 and 2080 is not that big, to the point the 2070 is snugged between them. Meaning, the 2060 is too close to a 2070 for the difference in price.
-
Every benchmark I see on notebookcheck has the 2070 at 20-30% better than the 2060, isn’t that significant?
-
Mastermind5200 Notebook Virtuoso
That seems highly inaccurate
-
That's up to the user, mainly due to price probably not?. Keep in mind the 1060 to 1070 was like 45% or more performance difference. We need more users from here that can do proper extensive testing
It seems the 2060 is about a 1070, the 2070 is about a 1080, and the 2080 is about... not a 1080ti. It's probably around 20% performance difference in between them, with 200-400dlrs price premium between them.Aroc likes this.
