There was a time when i was just like you... i played the games a liked and i was happy. I wa a young man at the time and new to the world of gaming. However little did i know that right around the corner a darkness would come that would change my wold forever. Than with no warning the darkness of Steam came and took me, what could i do i was totally unprepared!?! I was no match for steam just like a lvl 3 fighter is no match for a lvl 10 mage in dungeon and dragons 3rd edition rules.

A few years later i was obsessed with Steam and there was no escape in sight... no light at the end of the tunnel... only darkness...

I will release a book later called Steam the darkness within

Yea i just broke 500 games a few months back...i think i might be 50% through it that means anywhere from 1 hours to 500+ hours for a game....many are just an hour or few to try them out to see what they are like. I collect them what can i say. I'll break 600/700 Thanksgiving/Christmas if they put out the Sega complete pack again.....i want!!! Plus a couple other packs i am missing. Last Christmas blew chunks for packs....i don't think i actually bought anything last year. There were packs but no complete packs. I just need jewel to sell steam gift cards!!! so i can get my 6% off!!!!! Amex woot

BTW the steam hours are totally off.....you have probably played 2-3 times that much. Most of my games hours have been reset or don't track right so that that with a grain of salt.

There is an actual good reason for this. Ever since the advent of Steam Trading cards, you earn card drops based on play time. So by loading a game up and letting it run, you can earn card drops. You can then sell these cards on the marketplace for money, which can be used to buy more games that offer card drops. By repeating the process, you can earn millions of dollars on Steam, and you can eventually buy Gabe to serve as your personal courier.

Mr. Bob Good Day Sir, my computer right now is running a game, just in afk, just for you. Cheers.

Well Mr. Bob Good Day Sir,
I congratulate you on moving forward. At the same time, you are now dead to me. How dare you leave all those games unfinished. It's like leaving orphans out in the middle of the winter to starve!

I guess there is really only one thing to do. I have 149 games on steam. While I may not be the gamer Steam deserves, I guess I am the gamer that Steam needs.

    Thread to come soon.

Finishing a bad game is wasting time. Why keep playing a boring game? Best trick I learned was to watch the game ending on Youtube. Now I only finish games that I truly enjoy.

Spec Ops. Your basic third person cover shooter with great story.
The Witcher. Gameplay was a bit different to everything else out there, but again, the story was enough to keep me going.

I played the Witcher, and it seemed fun from the beginning. Assassins Creed I is a good example of a game that wasn't fun, I never finished it. Spec Ops looks good, so it is boring or unfun in the first half? Same for AC III? I will have to keep that in mind.

It's just a standard third person cover shooter. There are plenty of those out there. Without a story it would be nothing. So you kinda have to wait a bit till the story really kicks in.
For me it was a bit different. I was very used to playing other RPGs, all of which had a very different gameplay mechanics. At first The Witcher felt really weird. But story progressed and it became more fun.

But seriously, did you read my post. All this (in short form) I'd already written there.

    This thread still lives.......IT'S ALIVE!

In honor of Mr. Bob Good Day Sir, I looked through my steam library to see what games have just been collecting virtual dust. I decided to start playing through the Bioshock series, and finished the first game this weekend, about an hour into part 2. I'd definitely say Bioshock is a game that gets better the more you play.
