    1 gig
    4 gigs system memory
    vista 32 bit
and the rest is in my sig.

and that 64 fps is single card...almost all the test are single card, except one or two 1920x1200 test i ran...on for dondadah and the one up top. the i ran a 1680x1050 for kicks.

im going to fill out your benchmark form with stock/oc/single/sli
i see you have the 249/141/162 in the wrong spot..they should be in the high spot...

Having a high clocked desktop quad helps out at those low settings. What do you get with 2 cores (medium 1024 x 768)

    a little secret for ya.....

they WERE ran in dual core mode... :)
most of my stuff is ran in dual core mode to prove a point that more cores are not always better..when gaming is concerned... :) encoding is something entirely different.

What do you get with 2 cores (medium 1024 x 768) <--- which game?

Crysis, and you sure about that? Well, it is only 6 frames. I'm probably underestimating what difference 333x2 mhz will make with the GPU bottlenecking...

    100 percent sure
the part your under estimating (and we had this talk already) was you over clocking your cpu...
if i could over clock my cpu...i would be quite a bit higher than i am now...
this is why the 4870's/4850's are beating you...because you can't seem to get your cpu over clocked... :) once you do that...then you have a chance at taking that title....no over clocking or no high end cpu...no chance...

not to mention tester with a 4850 doing 6400 gpu points with a p9500

I think they are in the right one... DMC4 does'n't have "medium" settings, only Low, High and Super High, so while other games use Medium settings at 1024x768, DMC4 uses High at the same resolution, and Super High at the native one.

Yep, crossfire not workin. But other M17 owners have crysis and crossfire working, don't they? Not bad results for a single card at that res though.

It is the official ATI 9.4 Windows 7 64 Release

With the 9.2 Catalyst control centre.

    So ATI 9.4

I will re-run benchmarks now that the drivers are fully operational :) + Crysis bench is now operational.

Crysis benchmarks in, happy with these :D

Thanks! I'm going to update the chart today.

I was wondering about including 2 desktop benchmarks in the chart, as a reference. Maybe of a fast dual core + 9600 GT or 4670 and a non-extreme quad-core and a 4870 or similar. What do you think? Anybody interested on running the tests?

Hehe, we finally have some completed rows on the benchmark web :) Awesome, this is a really great idea!

I think it is worth putting on some Desktop benches, to see how far/close we are to a desktops level of performance, in this case i'd also promote OCing the laptops a bit.

Both of these games are more CPU bound, even on high settings. I'll have a QX9300 to test them with soon.

Thanks! Another row complete! Chart updated.

Yes, concerning GPU performance, the Crysis GPU benchmark and DMC4 seem the most interesting, but strategy games such as WIC are popular too, and as we list CPU, the info can be useful.

It'll be interesting to see the difference it makes on an identical platform though. That information can be hard to find.

Hehe yeah its gone quiet, i would wait for m17x benchmarks to pile in, i've been suggesting the tests from here in the alienware forum x3-tc due to its unbiased nature and so on.

I will re-run benchmarks on 32bit os with 9.5 possibly 9.6 drivers with the ati overclock on, hopefully, my scores should get atleast another 5 fps on all games :D

Alright, since there are some Overclocked results on the page, I felt like the 4850 had to be represented OC'd as well. I ran the 4 High benchmarks again with my info the same except my GPU is OC'd to 550/900.

    Crysis 26.8
    DMC4 DX10 74.2
    WIC 37
    X3TC 71.0

Currently, I am waiting for Intel Gulftown (32nm, 6 Cores, 12 Threads) processors to come out in Q1 or Q2 2010, and for Nvidia GT300 (40nm, Around x2 the performance of GT200) in Q3 or Q4 2009.

I am anxious to see how my project turns out, good, hopefully; the machine is going to be completely watercooled (Processor, Graphics Card(s), Hard Drives, RAM, Northbridge, Power Supply Unit) by a ERM-2K3U unit from Koolance, with up to 2,000 Watts of Heat Dissipation. (I am thinking about getting the ERM-3K4U5 with 3,000 Watts of Heat Dissipation, but its two times more expensive than the 3U one, just for 1,000 Watts of Heat Dissipation, however, it has 5 pumps instead of just one, a server-grade / cluster-grade liquid heat dissipation unit.)

I will make sure to get some benchmarks around when I am done tweaking the system.

I posted my benchmark results for comparative purposes only, so that the OP has more information to base his decision on, I read the original post and know the purpose for this thread, thanks for the notice, though, my post also includes a Devil May Cry 4 benchmark at Native Resolution as requested by the OP.

I am sorry for the misunderstanding, now I have edited my post to reflect my intention for posting my benchmark results in this thread.

nice..my little old setup can get as low as 10c on a good day and no over clocking...about 18'c while over clocked and idle. currently ranked about 25th in the world and 6th at evga... would love to see some numbers out of your rig!

Shameless thread bump. There are way to many GTX 260m's on the market now to not have them represented here. Go the the first page for instructions, make sure you use the listed settings.

100% certain you would find what you are looking for in the ASUS or Alienware forums.

Not really. Not those benchmarks run at those exact settings so they can be compared to the rest. Also, results posted here go to http://optimitza.cat/benchmarks/laptops in a nice concise little table.

Yeah. It seems people doesn't like this topic anymore :)

It seems there are few comparisons comprising the GTX 260M SLI. Is anybody aware of good gaming benchmarks of this card?
