Those 40 FMJ kills were a pain. I think getting Cold Blooded Pro will be even harder...

the SCAR-H is one of my favorite weapons on MW2. great damage with the perfect fire rate for head shots. the only down fall of the SCAR-H is it's low magazine cap. i find scavenger to be the perfect pair for my SCAR-H class (renamed it SCAR-Y)
.
i made a new class that is really shining in domination mode. i pair claymore + scavenger and booby trap the hell out of the map lol. i'll have like 20+ claymores set up all over the map. i just hide and watch my score jump. it's a friggin blast (no pun intended).
scar-y class:
primary: SCAR-H w/ FMJ or silencer
secondary: RPG or thumper
perks: scavenger pro, danger close pro, ninja pro
equipment: claymores, flashbangs -
Unfortunately the game only lets you put down two claymores at a time (Thank god! Can you imagine running around with 20 claymores on a map... lol). But scavanger + claymores is def a good idea. I got a buddy in my clan who uses that setup.
I posted some screenshots of some scores here. I got 8 nukes yesterday (though I played for 20 hours straight... Pretty crazy).
Oh, and I found out that domination is definitely the best game type to get a nuke on since the enemy spawns in one corner of the map all the time. It is way easier to get 14 kills with a chopper gunner.
I'll be publishing another tip video sometime soon. -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
Yeah that works too- totally depends on if you want to camp or run.
For camping, I recommend one man army.
For the run 'n gun folks, go with the m203, thumper, and scavenger. -
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
I love the AK47, I use it almost exclusively now. It does a ton of damage and has a high ROF. I can take down 2 or 3 guys without having to reload.
-
Hey guys, here's a video of a tactical nuke I got this morning. It took forever to convert it because I couldn't find a program that would convert it correctly. Lemma know what you guys think! I personally think just about anyone could pull off a tactical nuke if they do it like I do it. The less skill someone has though, the more luck it takes. When I'm trying to get a tactical nuke, I usually get one about one every 7 games or so, partly because it is really hard to get them on maps with lots of walls/buildings for people to hide from your chopper gunner.

I'm using SCAR w/ grenade launcher + thumper, scavenger + danger close + commando because I haven't unlocked one man army yet. I notice that the grenade launcher and thumper are somewhat different, but I'd like someone to confirm this. I feel like the thumper is weaker and fires/reloads slower than the grenade launcher. Anyone else notice this or is it just me? -
QUAD, when you record video, use fraps, then convert and make it though windows movie maker!
i owned a few rounds till i realized it was time to sleep, knifed like a bunch of guys in a row i think 6 then noobed tubed

Here's a tip for getting Cold-blooded kills on killstreaks
Have a large mag cap LMG equipped and an AT-4. Shoot a heli down and it will spin out(stinger and jav just make it explode). Switch to you LMG and shoot the heli. Each shot landed on the heli counts as a killstreak killed. I have cold blooded pro 5. Took me 10 minutes to get it -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
skeptical. -
AmazingGracePlayer Notebook Deity
Wow, definitely trying that later! Thanks!
-
You can be skeptical or try it and get cold blooded pro
-
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
i just want someone else to try it or a source... no time right now, would like verification
-
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
Hehe...MW2 is a different game with 5.1 surround!!!
-
whodathunkit. maybe that's why my claymores blow up randomly.
-
The Thumper forces you to aim down the sight before firing, which is why it's delayed. I'm pretty sure all of the non-locking launchers do that (AT-4, Thumper, RPG-7 etc.). If you're not aiming down the sight when you hit fire, it will automatically aim for a brief moment before firing. If you're already in ADS when you hit fire, it will be instant.
-
AmazingGracePlayer Notebook Deity
That's why... I'll try that. Along with the Cold Blooded Pro thing fatmanchan suggested later on today. I think Cold Blooded Pro will be a very very useful perk. -
Here is a quick guide to Estate with some camp spots/tac insert spots.

Quadron, any tips on class based on speed/knifing?
-
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
Pistol w/ Tactical Knife + Marathon + Lightweight + Commando. -
The best class for knifing is either the following...
or Pistol w/ Tactical Knife + Marathon + Lightweight + NINJA PRO.
The silent footsteps can be more useful than an extra reach, but that's up to you.
Also, please don't care package glitch. lol I despise care package glitchers. They ruin the game.
TIP: A great way to counter car package glitchers is to set up a class like you normally run, except that you have commando on for your 3rd perk. Whenever the care package cheater comes your way, if you can time it right, you can catch them by surprise because they are expecting you to run away and shoot them as you back up. Just step forward and knife them first. You have to knife early since those glitchers move supa fast. I've killed a bunch of care package glitchers this way. -
AmazingGracePlayer Notebook Deity
As of grenade slots, what should be used?
-
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
Most people don't pay attention to footsteps, that is why I find Commando more useful than Ninja.
-
All ways look behind you and listen to sounds that you hear like ^ said. Might wanna avoid open areas though.
-
Whatever you like, really. Blast Shield is great for countering enemy noob tubes and grenades to an extent. As for explosives, I prefer Semtex to the regular frag grenade because even if you prime it too early, you don't have to waste it. Overall, though, I usually roll with C4. It's great for area denial, and more reliable than claymores.
-
trust me it works... ive used it and several friends... quick butt load of xp
-
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
i dont think the care package knifers are glitching. i believe it was intended.
basically, if you can get a 4 kill streak, you have the option to trade the tactical knife for extra speed. -
AmazingGracePlayer Notebook Deity
What's that mean? -
my knife class:
primary: WA2000 with ACOG scope
secondary: .44 magnum with tactical knife
perks: marathon pro, lightweight pro, commando pro
equipment: semtex & flashbangs
it's a pure aggressive speed class when i use it. i tested it with ninja pro and commando pro is just way better, if it's a knife exclusive class. ninja pro is pretty useless cuz u'r not tryin to sneak around or be stealthy. i find an opportunity and explode at my opponents, so commando pro really helps. the no falling damage helps alot also when i'm runnin around the map lookin for ppl to shank. the mobility of marathon pro + lightweight pro + commando pro is incomparable.
i switched my primary to WA2000 with ACOG cuz u get camouflage with sniper classes. that and i suck at snipin with the regular scopes.
good tip about the green/glass house. i always wondered how ppl got up there.
+rep
p.s. - are u on PC? i miss FPS'in on my laptop instead of my ps3.

Any tips on the map Wasteland? I've never gotten a kill death ratio of over 1/5 on that map... I usually get 1/10.
-
basically, that's an open area map. u can split this map into 3 parts. the outer region of the map is where yur campers and snipers will be. the inner or center region of the map is where the tunnel is. this part of the map probably has the most traffic. u can see enemies comin from A, B, and C when u'r inside that tunnel. the last part of the map is pretty much the grassy area in between the outer and center region. this middle region has the least cover and foilage. u can be seen by guys that are in the outer and center regions.
i love usin chopper gunner or AC130's at wasteland. there is nowhere to hide from the 'whiz of death'
i get the most ac130's and 5:1 ratios on this map.
-
AmazingGracePlayer Notebook Deity
Usually when I'm not in the trench I get sniped, when I go in the trench I get killed by some campers with double shotgun.
-
When you're holding the Care Package marker, you run really fast, but if you have a pistol with a tactical knife, you can't use that at the same time, so you'll be stuck with the regular slower melee.
Definitely use a gun with a thermal scope on Wasteland, ideally a sniper rifle. If your enemies aren't using Cold Blooded, they'll stick out as bright white on dark gray a mile away. I actually prefer to avoid the center trench area, and stay towards the edges of the map, sniping enemies when they come out of the trench.
I'm not normally one to advocate camping, but it's really the best strategy on this map. Find a good position where you can crouch/prone behind cover, but stand and be able to see a good portion of the map, and try not to move too much.
Also, the mounted miniguns on this map are a huge no-no. -
Yes, I'm on PC. PC players use headphones mainly. This is key to knowing where people are. On PS3, most people just use speakers since they using their TV to play it. I would HIGHLY recommend getting headphones so you can hear where then enemy is coming from. You have to get USB headphones specifically for the PS3. There are headphones out there like that. This of course means that Ninja Pro isn't going to be nearly as useful on a PS3 as it is on PC (at least 50% of pc players listen for footsteps, nearly all of the experienced players do).
I usually try to hold out in the middle room with a tactical insertion. It's hard to get a huge killstreak going, but Its a popular place and I usually get a boatload of kills as people come into the middle.
I can't agree that the care package was intended. You run inhumanly fast, so fast that it is nearly impossible to kill a person glitching when they zigzagging. It's basically a speed hack, and it's not cool, not cool at all.
But yes, I agree with you about wasteland being a camping map for the most part. Either you camp it, or you move around very carefully and be sure to keep a clear eye out for other players camping. -
I'm not implying that the Care Package speedrunning was intended. I'm just saying that if he's going to take advantage of it, he should know that his tac knife won't be usable while he's doing it.
-
Whoops. Sorrry, I meant to be replying to the following post below. \/

So I just unlocked the Tactical Knife for the .44 Magnum...holy crap, it's awesome.
If you're going for the tac knife (or any handgun attachments, really), do it on hardcore. Hardcore TDM works best, I've found. The .44 with Stopping Power will drop just about anyone in one shot, and it's mad accurate. Once you get the tac knife, though, don't try to use it in Hardcore, you'll just get your face owned.
Regular TDM is awesome with the knife "attachment". I've only had it for three hours, but I've gotten so many top 3's and game-winning kills with it.
I'm currently using it with:
- Mini-Uzi + RDS
- .44 Magnum + Tactical Knife
- 2x Stun
- C4
- Marathon
- Lightweight
- Commando Pro
- Final Stand

i used to play alot of counterstrike, so i'm really good at locating where foot steps are comin from. i just don't really rely on it as much in cod. my roommate just got me this gaming chair with speakers and a sub for xmas. i can actually hear footsteps really clear now cuz there are 2 little speakers right behind my head. i can sometimes feel stuff comin also cuz there's a sub in my backrest. it's actually pretty cool. it's my first gaming chair.
it's weird, i'm totally opposite from most when it comes to how we play each of the maps. i really hate campin and don't really have the patience to wait for ppl to run by to pick them off. one place that i actually do enjoy "semi-campin" at is the tunnel @ wasteland. when i do occupy that tunnel, i get my biggest killstreaks and tons of points in there. i either use my knifing class and snipe down the walkway tunnels that lead to B and C. i just knife anyone comin from A cuz there's that wall inside the tunnel. my other class that's effective in wasteland's tunnel is:
scar-y class:
primary: scar-h with FMJ
secondary: javelin or thumper
perk: scavenger pro, stopping power pro, ninja pro
equipment: claymore, flashbangs
i focus my attention down the tunnels that lead to B & C. i usually crouch near the area where u enter the tunnel from B side. i claymore the B entrance and put another claymore by the wall where enemies come from the A side. scavenger allows me to have a full loadout at all times. -
AmazingGracePlayer Notebook Deity
What's the use for FMJ other than for bullet penetration kills?
-
Exactly. I get 5-10 bullet penetration kills every game. I use headphones + guessing to know where people are. You just need to know where people are coming from/where they are going/and then guess. If it comes up with a X symbol telling you that you shot someone, keep shooting at that spot until you kill them. If no X symbol, then stop and save your ammo. Seriously... walling is amazing (at least with the M16 FMJ).
EDIT: You also increase the damage you do just a little by adding FMJ. I can't say how much though. -
Just got my first nuke
Damn, what a rush -
yup, sometimes that little damage increase can go a long way in a gun fight.
lol congrats.
i still haven't gotten around to gettin a nuke yet. i'm stuck on my AC130. i just love that thing.
-
It's a body-shaking, finger-tingling experience! After I got my first nuke, I about had a nervous breakdown. Now that I've gotten over a dozen, it's not as exciting, but it's still sweet.

I got my first 7-kill streak yesterday M93 + stopping power. I'm digging the three burst fire. Does anyone know if FAMAS is three burst kill like M16?
Side note, people interested should join Quadron's clan, I played with them a few days ago, and the people there are really cool. -
FAMAS is more accurate and does the same damage as the M16, I prefer it.
-
AmazingGracePlayer Notebook Deity
But in the Create A Class menu the damage bar for FAMAS is half of that of M16. I know that the M16 + stopping power can kill anyone no matter where the three bullets land, can FAMAS do the same?
-
Those bars mean nothing, in COD4 the damage bars were very non-relative to actual damage. The FAMAS can do the same as the M16, I know cause I have used them both and the FAMAS is far more effective if your accurate, it does burst slightly slower, but if your accurate it is the same as the M16.
-
FMJ doesn't increase damage against people who aren't behind cover.
The blue bars don't mean squat.
It does the exact same thing that deep penetration did in cod4. -
True, just further to justify the blue bars mean nothing, FMJ only increases penetration damage, not actual damage.
