I agree the M16 Is easy to use, it's one of those point, shoot, kill weapons.

 

Don't remember anyone saying anything about the M16 but okay. Either way, its harder if you miss part of that first burst

 

If people start talking crap, just ignore them.

Unless you just don't want to prestige because you like your current setups.

 

True, but nobody really talks to particular person in game, unless that person's some annoying 10 year old bigot. Maybe I'll hang at level 70 until I get better/bored. There's no way to erase your exp/kill/death counts?

 

ive been outta touch with games recently, just wondering if this game is worth buying? i heard its iffy on the PC ...

also i only run a 8700mGT and im wondering if i can get decent/playable results on this game .. (i can handle cod4 nicely with moderate settings - is this game similar in terms of settings and performance?)

It's got its goods and bads, but it's definitely worth the money, especially many websites sell it at lower than $59.99. 8700 will run the game just fine. My old laptop had the same processor, 1.5GB of ram, and 8600 DDR2, and I can get 30-40 frames with texture on highest and everything else on low/off. You should be able to run it just fine, and if you overclock it it'll work even better.

 

It gets my recommendation. It should run just fine on your system.

 

I don't think so. I'd prestige just for the extra class slots.

 

You can delete your Players folder in your Steam/steamapps/common/modern warfare 2 directory. Steam Cloud keeps track of your online rank by synchronizing the file kept in that directory. If you delete it, then it will have nothing to sync, and it will start you from level 1.

 

I think he means staying the same level, but resetting your kills/deaths.

 

No I mean resetting everything, including levels and experience, or else nothing will encourage me to play anymore... I just delete whatever's in Steam/steamapps/common/modern warfare 2 to reset to level 1?

No! If you delete the entire Modern Warfare 2 folder, you'll delete the entire game itself! Just delete the "players" subfolder within the Modern Warfare 2 folder.

 

Because I didn't know how to play the game in the first 40 levels, and my kill/death numbers make me sad

This is true. Besides if you reset it, it won't be a true reflection of how far you've come.

So, just my luck: today on Wasteland in Hardcore TDM, I went 25-0 for the first time ever, and I had JUST changed my killstreaks from Pave Low - Chopper Gunner - Tactical Nuke to Predator Missile - Emergency Airdrop - Pave Low after the previous game.

Hahaha I tried to today, didn't work, played two matches, one on Scrapyard where I got a 12 killstreak, but my team lost 2500 to 7500 about three seconds after after I called in chopper... I think I'm improving a lot, so maybe not still debating though. I'll see after I get my Deathadder (not that it has to do with resetting my records).

 

Yeah, but those numbers will improve over time after you start getting good killstreaks more often. Plus when you prestige you get the benefit of another class, and the numbers even out anyway. Prestige is basically starting over.

 

don't take this the wrong way, but you only have to get a 5 kill streak to start kill streak boosting your way up to 25 if you start with the predator missile.

and the emergency airdrop gets you 4 killstreak rewards...

so all of that probably helped quite a bit.

it is a lot more difficult to flat get the 7 kills required to get the harrier than it is to get the 5 for the Pred. M.

 

Also using a pave low is a horrible way to get to a nuke. Not only is it hard to get that 9 kill streak but the pave low rarely works towards your killstreak. What happens is if you die at all before you get that 9 kill streak the pave low wont count. The harrier always counts

 

i thought kills from airdrops and emergency airdrops didn't count towards yur killstreak.

i use predator missle > harrier > AC130. nukes are pretty lame. EMP is just annoyin, but totally not worth usin as an actual killstreak reward.

 

Yeah, EMP is a bit weak to justify making it a 15-kill streak reward. Disabling red dots and holographic sights is one thing (and that doesn't even work on the TAR-21 and F2000, their red dots still work), and as for the radar, you can do that with Counter-UAV.

Where the EMP really shines is its ability to destroy aircraft. Using it will instantly obliterate any attack helicopters, Harriers, Pave Lows, UAV's, Counter-UAV's, AC-130's, Chopper Gunners, and even Predator missiles already in-flight. I'm pretty sure it works on airstrikes and B-2 Spirit bombers as well, though don't quote me on that. When I get an EMP from a Care Package, I always save it for when the enemy has at least two aircraft up wreaking havoc on my team.

 

I thought the pavelow counted to you kill streak if you get a manual(guns, knife ect.) kill between calling it in and it's first kill.

Thats just what i've heard. Never tested it myself.

The EMP is also a good flashbang.
I've been killed right after an EMP because I was blind a couple of times.

 

Yeah, too bad it blinds your own team as well.

 

Harrier is a far more effective way to get your killstreak going. The majority of Predator missles only get one kill, though often times you'll get two or three. Occasionally you'll get more... The harrier alone can get up to 6-8 kills, but typically only gets 3-4 on average I'd say. Sometimes they suck, but most of the time, they don't.

Pave low's don't count towards your killstreaks ever as far as I know.

I didn't know that the EMP disable all enemy aircraft! It all makes so much more sense now!! lol

I just unlocked the AK yesterday and I'm going through level 70 faster than the other levels! I want to prestige but I can't decide because I love the AK so much. D:

 

I'd stay with rank 70 for a while, relax a bit and have fun with everything you've unlocked. I hit 70 almost two weeks ago and I haven't Prestiged yet.

 

So...much...lag. MW2 has seriously become nearly unplayable. There seems to be more lag issues now than at release.

I wish I had not spent the $60 on this cripped, POS game. Good thing BC2 is coming to get my mind off this MW2 trash.

P.S. I didn't prestige, I didn't want to lose all my guns, it's not worth it just to get a special little icon next to your name that says "I'm prestige cause I have no life and play MW2 all day".

 

I got MW2 for the 360 after I got it for PC. I tried it again and wow...so much lag it's unplayable

 

Wow, usapatriot, you're not just straddling the fence about MW2 - you're leaping 10 feet in either direction over it!

Don't take this the wrong way or anything, I just find it funny how before the game was released, you were bashing it and boycotting it, then you got it the day it came out and loved it for a while, and now you're back to calling it trash.

But yeah, Infinity Ward really needs to suck it up and admit that they're wrong, and fix it before it's too late.

 

Why do people love the AK so much?

 

I don't, I can't stand the thing. The ACR, FAL and M16 are the assault rifles I use when I do use them at all. 99% of the time, though, you'll find me with my Intervention or M21 EBR.

 

I find that the AK has too much recoil, but the reason that people love it is because it is so powerful/hardly takes any bullets to kill someone. To me its like the M16, but not 3 round burst. Without the 3 round burst, it just gets crazy in my trigger finger hands.

 

The AK-47 actually does the exact same damage per shot (40/30 at range) as the SCAR-H and TAR-21, in addition to the FAMAS and M16, although those are burst-fire. And the FAL does more damage per shot (50-35), but it's semi-auto.

I have yet to try the AK, but I did use the TAR and it has little recoil. But on the create-a-class page, its accuracy rating is very low. But with the P90, which has a high accuracy rating, the recoil is crazy... I'm guessing that in MW2 accuracy does not equal recoil amount?

 

I like FAL but I'm trying to get used to pressing the trigger multiple times as quickly as possible since its a single shot gun.

On PC? You can't resell Steam games.

Protip: the stat bars that you see in-game are 100% wrong and very misleading. According to them, the FAMAS does something like half the damage of the M16, but their actual damage stats are identical.

I use quick triple-tapping with the FAL. I use it silenced, so its damage falls off from 50 to 35 quite quickly, requiring 3 hits for a kill instead of 2. At close range, though, a good double-tap will deal exactly 100 damage.

 

You could only sell your account information that includes all of your steam games in one purchase. If you just had MW2 alone on a steam account, you could potentially resell it by itself.

 

That violates Steam's terms of use.
