I think there was a thread like this a while ago. Just throw down brief impressions and/or rate the game on scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being lowest.

Use spoiler tags for anything that might spoil the plot of a game too please!

    I'll start :)

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 - SP Campaign = 6/10

It wasn't nearly as exciting as the first two, but still worth playing. I got to play with someone else's account because they play for MP and were gone for a week. Didn't take long to complete.

    Borderlands 2. 9/10

Improved upon the original. Great game if you like looting RPGs. Sadly, the vehicle sections arent that great, but nothing to spoil the game overall.

Whoops, posted something entirely irrelevant the first time! Haha.

I've been playing Fallout: New Vegas off and on for the past few days after taking a long break from the game. I would rate it 8/10. Some bugs and random crashes ruin my immersion but overall, it's just such an awesome experience and requires many playthroughs to see the entire game. Plus, the DLCs are pretty nice.

Hmmm, Spec Ops The Line really good SP? May have to look at that one. Still don't want to pay full price. It's $30 which still seems a bit steep to me, maybe $20.

Yes I really liked the game a lot. I must play it again sometime. :D
Also why pay 30$ for it?
It's 15$ right now and I can assure you that if you wait for another sale you get it for 5-10$.

If you want it right now just look on amazon:

    EDIT:
Use also this Coupon "CAGROCKS" and you receive -25% off the purchase. :D

Bought! $12 I think will be worth it. I had it in my Steam wishlist...

Like I said to you already, I haven't finished any SP games in a while now it's Bulletstorm, MW3, working on Crysis 2, Crysis 3, and then Spec Ops the Line. After that maybe ME2, ME3. But then Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite are coming out... gah.

So last night I decided to go through my steam library and try some of the games I haven't played yet....so many. Anyways, I loaded up Trine 2.

It's a 2d platformer, but it is absolutely brilliant. On high settings, it is a very, very pretty game. You choose between 3 characters that you can switch between at any time (wizard, archer, warrior) and they have all different abilities. Very clever puzzles. Also, this is one of the few games I have played that work just as well with a keyboard & mouse or a controller.

Of course I haven't finished it yet, but I sank 2 hours into it in just a blink of any eye. 9/10 so far.

Crusader Kings II: 9/10 or perhaps 6/10

Review: If you take the time to get into it, you will easily invest about 50-100 hours without hesitation. After 50 hours of gameplay, which will eclipse most of the games you have ever owned, you will still not know whether this game is a masterpiece or ultimately just the video game version of crack -- insanely addictive but poison for your soul.

Slightly more serious review: think Football Manager or Out of the Park Baseball, not Total War, and you'll be golden. Your job is to build a dynasty and play against other dynasties for 400 years.

    Crysis 2 6/10

I'm nearly finished... I think. Only thing I can say about the game is... annoying. I mean I'm all for a decently long campaign, but something that has substance, not (A) enter zone (B) kill all bad guys looking 100% alike, maybe introduce a new one every 20% of game, (C) Goto (A).

I admit I used a cheat in a couple areas because it was like ... AGAIN? Gah. So instead of wasting 30 minutes trying to kill the same boss-like creature 3-4 times, I just turn on god mode, load up on C4 and say sionara.

edit: yup, lol. Just finished. That was quick. I was expecting a little more. Quite disappointed overall. Not nearly as fun as the first two (Crysis and Warhead)

I'm a big fan of this kind of thread, I just wish there were more support from the rest of the forum, lord knows there are enough opinionated gamers to make this a mainstay of the gaming subforum.

I've been plugging away at The Witcher for the last month and a half (with some long breaks for the Chinese New Year holiday), so even though I'm only at the beginning of Chapter 4, I'm gonna give my two cents.

I tried to play The Witcher on my Envy 14 a few years ago, but my GPU started giving out around the end of Chapter 1, so I shelved the game and never picked it up again when I finally got the computer repaired several months later (international warranty is only good if you're in a country where the laptop is sold...).

I'm definitely enjoying the game - there's a lot to do and you can get a pretty good idea of when it's time to move on by watching how many sidequests you have left, so I never really get to the point where I feel like there's nothing left to do. The gameplay mechanics are pretty good and there's enough variation between the different attack animations that it doesn't distract like in some games where the animations are too limited. The story is alright, though the writing's not all that compelling and the highly-touted a/moral decisions are often simply choices between two evils (do I support the genocidal humans or the genocidal non-humans?).

Playing The Witcher (and some games before it, like Metro 2033, Oblivion, and Mass Effect) and observing my own feelings about it makes me wonder whether there's been a drop in the quality of games or whether it's just my personal interaction with games. Many of these pinnacle games that get GOTY awards for storytelling and art along with their gameplay and graphics fail to really grab me - I play through them for the experience and the level of enjoyment I get out of them, but the immersion isn't there, and they're not nearly as fun as games when I was younger. One theory is that I don't exercise my imagination enough anymore to fill in the gaps in the story and backstory that aren't directly spelled out, so I don't care as much about the politics among the kingdoms because the kingdoms are just flat constructs that mean nothing to me. The other theory (other than the "games aren't as good anymore" theory) is that one you hear about pleasure centers shrinking when you indulge them too much - that would help explain why gaming is more fun after a few months without, as well as why games don't impress as much when you've been gaming for two decades as they did when you'd been gaming for five years.

Anyway, The Witcher's pretty good, but if it's really one of the best games of its generation I'm a bit disappointed.

I loved TW2, but I lost interest in playing the first title after a few hours and I never went back. It was decent. but the graphics, gameplay, and story weren't particularly great. I wasn't a fan of the combat (felt like a rhythm game) and the story/voice acting were pretty cringe-worthy.

I've played 3 games recently, so I'll give my short opinions of each.

Crysis 3: Stunning, stunning, stunning graphics. I've been taking screenshots and using them as my wallpaper; it's just that damn good looking. Gameplay is more varied than Crysis 2, with larger areas and more weapons/attachments. There are some AI bugs and the game is easier than I'd like (I tore through the hardest difficulty in several hours) but it's still so much fun alternating between stealth and armored -mode, quickly dispatching any foe that crosses your path. Main complaint: WAY too freaking short. At 5-6 hours, it was much shorter than Crysis 2's campaign.

    Overall 9/10

Dead Space 3: Still haven't finished it, but I think I've played enough for a full review (I'm about 10 hours in.) I'm not sure whether it's because I've been playing these games for years, or Dead Space 3 isn't as scary as 1 and 2 (or maybe both) but I don't find it as suspenseful or engaging as the previous titles. That said, there's still plenty to love here. The game is more action-oriented than the past two, with quicker necromorphs and the addition of human enemies, and a slew of powerful craftable weapons to wipe them out with. The story features some new environments (the space colony at the beginning of the game is particularly cool,) tons of new weapons, new characters, and new game modes (co op,) but I still feel like it has lost something along the way, as the story and atmosphere just don't affect me the way they used to. It's still fun, and there's plenty of replayability with new game+ and co-op modes. Crafting kick- weapons is pretty nice, too. Art design and graphics are great too, but it could have been better in the graphics dept. It'll run well on even low-end systems, which is a great thing, but I wish Vigil had done more to spruce up the higher settings. Better textures and lighting effects would have been really appreciated.

    Overall: 8.5/10

Tomb Raider: I'm digging it so far. It struggles in the beginning, with too many quick time events, and an endless stream of trauma and injuries for Lara Croft. I can't count the times I cringed watching her fall, get stabbed, impaled, shot, and nearly molested. It gets better though, as the game starts to open up and Lara becomes more empowered. I never liked the previous titles, but this reboot takes a much more mature and violent path than its predecessors. Combat is fast, bloody fun, with a variety of tools to take down bad guys. The bow (videogames' latest fad) is excellent, and pulling off headshots in the middle of the action is really satisfying. You upgrade your skills and equipment along the way, using xp and loot gained from killing baddies and finding treasure. This wouldn't be a Tomb Raider title without platforming and puzzle solving, though I didn't find these quite as satisfying as the combat. Platforming is relatively simple, with standard jumping/climbing a la Uncharted. Puzzes are pretty simple too, but I did have trouble with a couple of them, as the seemingly obvious solution wouldn't work, leaving me to randomly try random things until finding the solution. The puzzles and platforming are supplemented with tools that you unlock through the game, like rope arrows you use for ziplines or pulling objects/doors, or your rock pick you use for prying locks and climbing (oh, and stabbing badguys in the skulls lol.) Graphics and animation are nice, but there are optimization issues with the 6xx series, forcing me to run it without tessellation to prevent crashing/glitches. Another low point are the stereotypical characters, such as the belligerent Scottish sailor, the dork in glasses, the angry black woman, and the gentle Hawaiian giant. Lara on the other hand is well-acted, though her screams and cries (especially in the beginning torture-*edited out* act) grew tiresome. Despite its missteps, its a great attempt at a reboot and I really recommend it to anyone who enjoys third person action titles.

    Overall: 8.5/10

I always hate how the review sites give every game that comes out an 8.5, and here I am doing it lol. They are all really good games though, which is the reason I picked them up so soon after release. If you see any of these titles on sale, don't hesitate to snatch it up. You'll get your money's worth for sure.

Max Payne 3 - 7.5/10 -- Good nostalgia factor and story. Gameplay was decent, but derivative at this point. Dialogue was a bit too hokey (almost campy) in this installment, made me cringe a couple times. 1st and 2nd installments were much better written, stylized and more adult.

Brutal Legend PC - 9/10 -- Gameplay is fun, even though it's a basic hack-and-slash. Great original soundrack, and mind-blowing licensed music (probably the best in any game, ever). Very funny dialogue and voice acting.

Been a while, but I'll include a few I've played recently...

XCOM: Enemy Unknown. 6.5/10. (Squad-level turn based tactical game, spiritual successor to the old XCOM series)

Yes, I know, it gets rave reviews. Great graphics. Smooth gameplay. Trouble was, FOR ME, it lacked some of the essential elements I just couldn't do without from the original XCOM - squad size too small, too linear gameplay, and some other issues. Others may love this - heck, I've seen the reviews, I KNOW others love this iteration, but for me it fell flat. It was an OK game (hence I'll still rate it above a 5) but from what I wanted, it was a disappointment.

Warlock: Master of the Arcane. 7/10. (Fantasy-based civilization style 4x game; use your wizard to build your fantasy cities/units and take over the world)

I love civilization style games, and love the fantasy element - so this should be a slam dunk. And it's an OK game - it has good basics, but that is the limit; it never goes beyond these basics. Plus, the AI is really bad. Three basic playable races, uninteresting choices in customizing your faction leader - this one was decent, and I still play occasionally, but it's most memorable to me as a game that could have been great, but fell short and is merely OK. Needs a much better AI, plus a bunch of tweaks to be great! The AI really could use some work. Loads of neat ideas (challenging wandering monsters in the world, different worlds to travel to through gates, some interesting units) but really doesn't integrate it all into a good cohesive package. Oh, did I mention the awful AI?

Elemental: Fallen Enchantress. 8/10. (Again, fantasy-based civilization style game; 'sequel' to Elemental: War of Magic and fixes much of what was wrong with that title)

Only initial impressions here - having some issues running this right now that I'[m workig to correct, but I don't (currently) think it's the game's fault, I think I have some hardware issues... Anyway, a slightly different focus - you still build cities and units and try to take over the world, but you personally (as a 'sovereign') can actively participate in battles, leading your troops on the field. Battles are a little bland, taking place on a tactical map that, while interesting, doesn't really ffer all the terrain/differences/tactics that you would hope, but overall I'd really enjoyed the play time I got out of this one before my computer started dying - looking forward to getting back to it when I get my new system!

    Inquisitor - 9/10

Lots of great ideas to be found in this hardcore RPG. Good exploration, rewarding quests and a very interesting story are put together nicely in this game. Would recommend it to fans of "old-school" type RPGs that don't hold your hand, are challenging yet rewarding.

Not good at reviews, as I don't usually have much to say, but here goes...

    Borderlands 2

    Base game: 9/10

It was more of the same (Borderlands) but better in every way.

    Captain Scarlet DLC: 8/10

It was a lot of fun, but I felt like I was a gopher (go for this, go for that) too often.

    Torgue's Campaign: 11/10

That's right, this one goes to eleven! I couldn't get enough of this one. Everything was over-the-top and it was perfect.

    Hammerlock's Hunt: ??/10

Not sure how I feel about this one, but I do know one thing: it's kicking my butt.

    This thread died quickly, surprisingly.

I'll keep it going with "The Stanley Parable" - 7/10

Wow what an odd one this is. Confusing as heck, but tongue in cheek funny. Reminds me a lot of Douglas Adams (of "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" fame) type of humor, which I loved, but the game is a bit odd.

    Child Of Light - 9.5/10

Wonderful game. Incredible visuals - each screenshot would be worthy of being hung in an art gallery. The music is simply sublime. The gameplay is rewarding and addictive. The setting and characters feel very unique. New game plus mode is very welcome. My only wish would be for a longer campaign with even deeper RPG elements - I'd happily pay full AAA price for a more fleshed out experience. But for the cheap asking price, it's worth every penny you spend - and don't get me wrong; the campaign feels a satisfying length and is very rewarding to play through. It's just that games this good will always leave me wanting more!

Bioshock infinite - 9.5/10. This was just fun and kept me engaged from start to finish. Story was fantastic. Better than the first two IMO.

South park the stick of truth - 8.5/10. Best South park game period. Brought back so many memories and it was a laugh. Wish it was a little longer (hopefully they release a DLC).I found it a little too easy even on hardest difficulty.

    The Walking Dead Season 1 + 400 Days= 9.9/10

This was my first point and click game and it was truly awesome. A game with consequences. It was great.

    The Walking Dead Season 2 = 9/10

I've played the first 2 episodes and the fun continues.

    Finished Bio Shock Infinite= 10/10

This game was recommended to me. I liked it so much I went back and played Bio Shock 1 & 2, plus the DLC. This series was awesome.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Ultimate Edition for Mac OS X (includes pre-order bonus mission, goodies, and Missing Link DLC): 9/10

I'm going to lose any PC gaming cred with this post, but I never played the original Deus Ex. Main reason is that it was a bit too complex in terms of gameplay, story, etc. That was then. Having watched a let's play of it a couple times, I have a good handle on the story and mechanics and how the prequel fits into the world.

Even without any understanding of the first game, I would still rank Human Evolution as one of my favorites of all time. Definitely top 10, arguably top 5. I love the aesthetic, atmosphere, and gameplay. I even think the voice acting is decent. The story is a bit uneven, and there many technical issues, though none of them are the fault of Feral Interactive (the company that ported the game to OS X). They're the result of inherent problems that existed with the original PC version. Sadly, none of the bugs that I came across appear to have been resolved in the newer Director's Cut, but they're not deal breakers. I'm on my second playthrough going for a full-stealth, no-kill run, which is a lot harder than it sounds.

I can see why dedicated fans of the first game would be disappointed with Human Revolution, but I believe what Eidos Montreal did with it was exactly how it needed to be done for modern tastes and a broader audience. I just hope that some folks who have only played HR will go back and try the original, or at the very least, watch a let's play. Too bad the same can't be said for Deus Ex: The Fall, but we shan't speak of that.

I just put my hands over my ears, shut my eyes, and pretend DX: The Fall never existed. I do the same thing for the Star Wars prequel trilogy as well. :D

OK back on topic. Last game I completed was Sleeping Dogs. 8.7/10.

    Borderlands 2 9/10

this game rocks, there's a ton of DLCs and 6 playable characters with good different skills and drawbacks, i just finished main story in normal mode.

here is a heads up character options

Axton - commando, recommended on long to midrange combat, his dual turrets comes in handy in normal mode and true vault hunter mode, his reloading speed and weapon swap speed is top notch
Maya - siren, more of a healer than an offensive character for me, her phaselock skill heals your allies
Zero - sniper, recommended on long range combat, in short range combat his skill needs some control mastering to be effective, but if done correctly is one of the deadliest character skills
Sal - gunzerker, literally with a good skill tree, you can heal upright when you activate your gunzerk skill, giving him the proper weapons makes him exterminate one enemy at a time, also his dual grenades throw is handy at multiple enemies
Gaige - mechromancer, my favorite character, have her anarchy build high enough, is the deadliest character i used so far, her Death trap skill comes in handy, but for me her gun and effects are the best
Krieg - more of a melee and burn effect character. Haven't used him much.

and soon i will be playing the DLCs. a lot of quests, good graphics and sound, lots of loot and weapons, classes and customization, i highly recommend this game for fps and rpg gamers with a way long of replayability and exploration.

    @Reaversedge:
Borderlands 2 is among my top 3 FPS games (if not best) for sure. God I loved that game. So much humour and so much weapons. I love the way they mix RPG with FPS.

About the DLCs. Just wait til you play Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep and Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage. They are so awesome and funny :)

    Hawken 8/10 so far...

Been playing it for about a week and the best thing is it's free. Very easy to pick up, instant mech battle action, and looks really good. Devs are always improving the game.

    Metro: 2033 7.5/10

I know this is an older game but I just got back into PC gaming and got it as part of a "Humble Bundle" pack. The game is gorgeous and I imagine "Last Light" looks even better.

    Planetside 2 9/10

Another free2play game. Epic battles with hundreds of others on foot, land, and sky. It can take some time to get the hang of Planet side, but once you do the results are very rewarding.

I purchased The Witcher 1 & 2 but haven't played those yet. I really want to get BioShock Infinite, Tomb Raider, Crysis 3 and the list goes on and on...

    Borderlands 2 here too :D.
Hmmm, I have mixed feelings about this game. Sometimes I love it, and sometimes it annoys me.

The last game I played on my 360 was Borderlands 2. It was all right but I got bored with it and never finished it. This didn't happen with the first one tho... Weird...

LL looks a little worse in some aspects as they cut out some of the most intensive/unoptimized graphical effects from 2033. But it is still quite a looker and runs a hell of a lot better.

I'm interested in what the Redux versions of both games will bring to the table.

Cool. I haven't finished 2033 yet, but I've enjoyed it enough that I know I'll want LL.

    Pokemon Zeta / Omicron 8/10

if you are a fan of pokemon, then you will definitely enjoy playing Pokemon Zeta / Omicron. this version of pokemon is made by a few reddit users ( Pokémon Zeta/Omicron). the game itself is completely free; however, it is still in beta. there are some bugs in the game, but nothing game breaking. this pokemon game, features more than 600 pokemon spanning from the first generation to the fifth. these pokemons includes: legendary pokemons, mega evolutions, delta pokemon, fused pokemon, and even made up pokemon. the story is more enjoyable compared to official pokemon games; however, it does contain some modern day humor. maximum level is increased to 120 and for the first time in pokemon games, ev and iv stats are visible to the player. multiplayer is a work in progress, so online battles with other players, as well as, trading pokemon are not working. to get some pokemon to evolve through trade, the devs put in a self trading system that would allow the player to trade with themselves. most of the battle animations are not there yet and the animations that does work are not as impressive as the animation in pokemon ruby. another major change from traditional pokemon games are the HM items. instead of making a pokemon learn useless hm moves like, dive, waterfall, rock smash, etc. there are items that would replace the need for it. for example, instead of teaching a pokemon strength to move boulders, you can just use a dolly. secret bases are much more useful and can be upgraded to provide better services.

i am 34 hours in and i am not even halfway through the game yet. its worth a try for all the pokemon lovers out there.

Mass Effect - 9.5/10 - fantastic game if you're in science fiction; the galaxy is yours. Now playing ME2, after ~40h deep in the story, I would say it is an even better game than ME1!.

Yeah, I was lucky enough to not play ME series 'til now ( :D ), and now it's like reading a book (Hamilton space opera) and more than that, take part of it! Then when the 1st volume is over, just get the 2nd. Though I don't know if my Intel HD3000 is capable to run ME3, did manage to run ME1 720p, ME2 648"p" and I think I can't go lower.. If not, I have to upgrade my laptop. Great games, again.

ME3 is a bit fickle getting it to run with older video cards. I could get ME1 and ME2 working fine with the Asus Transformer, but ME3 just wouldn't work. I started ME1 about three times, and then left it for some reason, I need to get back to it and finish it too.

How good and on what king of GFX settings you run it on T100?
From myself I'll add that I just loved ME1, but ME2 felt kinda too generic for me. And then you have your usual Bioware story-writing... So I guess that's why I never picked up the ME3... That and Origin.
