Actually, it is playable. You should see Gopher's "Let's Play Skyrim" series to see it and he's a stickler for 60 FPS at 1080p for his video recordings. And then check out his modding series because they show you more or less how he gets the game stable and looking good at the same time.

I would say The Last Door, but it's not exactly 3D.

The Telltale stuff would work. The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, The Wolf Among Us, etc... Broken Age is supposed to be ok. JULIA among the stars got really good reviews.

Take a look at this list:

I think it runs fine now... I think it was actually good.. I gave up on Act V (towards the end) where there is some major hack and all the cops come for you.. I jsut couldn't get past it... I would recommend GTA V though :)

Even with the performance issues fixed it still has a pretty bad story line to go along with it. It was a very ambitious GTA clone that fell flat on its face.

I mean don't get me wrong the game had its perks... Once they fixed the driving, it was actually quite fun to just drive around. It was also fun to explore buildings by hacking cameras, exploding things to kill the security guards... I just wish that the plot and characters were better. I pretty much never played campaign mode and went off and did my own thing instead. That part is cool too though. That open world lets you go anywhere you want to go, you aren't forced on some linear path at all like 99% of the games out there.

I guess most of my being super critical of the game has to do with how much time I invested into it when it was a mess but really the story and characters are kind of unacceptable to me.

Since more people than me seem fed up with the AAA games, and are probably waiting for No Man's Sky and Tides of Numenera to come out anyway - here's a recommendation for you: Retro/Grade.

Retro/Grade is a kind of rhythm-game masked as a side-scrolling shoot-em-up in reverse. It borrows inspiration visually and mechanically from games like Frequency and Guitar Hero on one hand, and R-Type or Gigawing on the other. Without becoming either as stressful or monotonous as a shoot-em up or a rhythm game, or really a game from either genre. Which doesn't explain anything, but will of course make sense in restrospect once you've played it.

The game is well-known for being Matt Gilgenbach's economical and in some respects mental ruin, as well as his near final exit from games-development, in spite of the game receiving nothing short of supremely stellar reviews when it launched. The game has since continued to see glowing reviews as more people find out that the game exists. Fans of the game continue to be baffled about the reasons for why it never was more successful, that is, in terms of sales. The situation that, regrettably, prevented 24-Caret Games from making more interesting games such as this.

Nevertheless, a quality game that defies any attempt at definition, outside perhaps being a game that emerges as a perfectly unique product, while appearing to be derivative at every point. As the opening credits declare in bold types, before the universe implodes through the entire frequency spectrum: You Win.

Wasteland 2, Dragon Age Inquisition, Elder Scrolls online, Witcher 3?
I am a long time fine of anything from fallout to wow and diablo, what are the must plays?

Depends on what you mean by "best". Are you looking for a dungeon crawler? Try Legend of Grimrock or Paper Sorcerer. Japanese-style? Try Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. Tactical-style RPG? Shadowrun: Dragonfall Director's Cut or Valkyria Chronicles. Straight-up action? Torchlight II. Open world/sandbox? I've only played Bethsoft's and Skyrim is outside of your time frame. I don't do multi-player games any more.

what are some good RTS games? Balance between fighting and building. Also, please recommend me adventure or whatever games with middle age or World War II settings (on Pacific theater maybe) that you like since I want to try something new.

Was just wondering... Is there any mmorpg or hacknslash RPG with mode modern weapons?
Either something like diablo3 or like fallout. Interesting how would it feel to grind dungeons / military bases for a legendary rifle scope or a power armour.

I think borderlands were supposed to have something similar, right?
I also remember something grindy going on in either ARMA, h1z1 or DayZ, but i am not sure if it's what i am looking for i quite dislike the concept of having 100 different servers with hardly anyone on it and different rules.

You might like Wasteland 2, though it's not a Diablo clickfest ARPG, is turn based. But it's definitely good.

Also Grim Dawn has a class that has firearms, though it's not completely modern.

You also might want to try Secret World.

I highly recommend Satellite Reign to people. I've spent 35 hours of my life in the past 2 weeks to that game. It's the spiritual successor to Syndicate / Syndicate Wars, made by Bullfrog, back in the 1990's. 3D isometric real-time game that takes place in a Cyberpunk dystopian future (think Blade Runner, Johnny Mnemonic, Deus Ex, Neo-Tokyo kind of vibe) . You control a squad of 4 augmented super-soldiers that you level up, equip with gear that you find and unlock through research, equip with augmented limbs. Missions almost always have either a stealth option (usually requiring hacking), or a soldier / blow-everything-up-with-plasma-miniguns option.

Destructoid had a review ( link) with the best quote that summarizes this game up. Especially for anyone who played the original Syndicate, and loved it.

[Syndicate] simply hasn't held up to modern standards. Revisiting Syndicate today reveals a mess of punitive mission design, rudimentary controls, and simplistic mechanics....two decades later [Satellite Reign] feels like how I remember playing Syndicate, which is just about the highest possible praise I can give it.
$30 on Steam. I never buy games at full price on Steam. And I never replay a game (I rarely have enough time or interest to finish a game once, let alone a second time). But this game was worth every single penny, and every single minute I've put into it.

You could not have asked at a better time. I just finished Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky on PC. I played the original version on PSP then recently saw that it had a PC re-release in 2014. It is one of the best JRPGs ever made. It's long, wordy, and not particularly innovative when it comes to gameplay but dammit, you have to play this gem. It's incredibly detailed and the story will suck you in and have you playing for hours and hours. The characters are lovable and the combat, while I mentioned isn't innovative, is still very enjoyable and does have a few unique tweaks which are fun to toy with.

All of you guys, if you like turn-based RPGs and/or heavily story-driven games, you will love game, provided you have the time to play it. There are tons of hidden quests and secrets hidden in it as well; you'll definitely need to follow a guide if you want to get it all on your first playthrough.

Now if XSeed would just hurry up and release the English version of the second chapter...

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the music and art in this thing are brilliant as well.

EDIT (again): I see @ratinox already mentioned it a couple pages ago. Whoops.

EDIT (THIRD TIME): I just realized that I replied to a post made a couple months ago. I'll just show myself out.

I am not a seasoned RPG player, but I definitely enjoyed Witcher, not just the third installment, but the entire saga. It has one of the best stories I've experienced in my gaming career. It is based on books, no argue on that, but nevertheless is as complex and surprising as you can hope for an epic - fantasy genre.

Be aware that you'll need an over the average hardware for running it decently, but you've probably heard already.

I am looking for a new game to play with my wife.

She really likes Diablo 3 (kind of burned out for awhile) and we had a decent time on Lego Superheros (kind of a funky split screen we never really got used to). We played both on the ps4.

We are kind of looking for a new game to play together.
She does not like FPS style games and she thinks Civ 5 is to boring.

    We have a ps4 and her computer is a surface pro 3 (I have a Sager NP8651).

I would rather get a game on the computer (we can play on our own time without taking over the whole living room with the TV).

    Any thoughts?

Maybe look into League of Legends? You two could go duo bot lane together, duoing with someone you care about is very fun, rewarding, and enjoyable. :D

I mean, it is the most played game in the world! :)

It has a somewhat steep learning curve at first but it's a game that you can enjoy for years and years to come.

I must comment on this one.
Don't play LoL if you can't handle stress situations or simply don't want them. Riot does good job finding and banning rude players, but you meet them from time to time anyway. This is not a pleasant experience at all.
Also, there are different types of games - with AI bots, normal games with other players and ranked. Avoid ranked as a duo at any cost unless you are 100% sure about the opposite. I, myself, know a couple of cases when a family of two almost broke because of a mere video game (still talking about LoL). One of them played better and raged because they couldn't improve as a duo.
And finally, you won't always be playing together in one lane. It's a social game and you can't always secure spots for yourself.
So, please, if you ever try it, do with EXTREME caution.

Divinity Original Sin has a coop, but it's complete opposite to Diablo III - has TBS fighting mechanic, and a bit more harder in terms of solving quests.

I dunno, I'd say just mute everyone from the start and then you can have fun duoing. With team builder, you absolutely can always go duo bot lane together.

Divnity Original Sin recently came out with their Enhanced Edition, as well. So if you're going to get into that game, it's a great time to do it.

Every review site out there loves Divnity Original Sin. They consider it to easily be one of the best RPGs in 2015. They praise its conversation / interaction system between two characters (which can be controlled by two separate people in a co-op game); the dialogue and narrative; the turn-based tactical combat system; and the interactions in the combat system (e.g. casting lightning bolt on an enemy standing in water, or casting Grease (an oil-slick spell) on an enemy, and then igniting that with a fire-based spell).

Well I have not played LoL, but DOTA which in essence is the same and it definately gets competitive and I definately see a potential of a faceplant either from the tension within the duo or by pressure from outside. Yes you could mute everyone out but hey then in a way you are ruining the game for everyone else as well. I agree with Niaphim - use with coution. And if LoL is anything like DOTA be prepared to invest tons of time. I mean literraly thousands of hours... After a re-install I decided not to install it at all as it is like a drug and you can go without if it is unavailable, but if it is you will end up killing time ;)

what's your opinion on Crusader King II and Europa Universalis 4? I've played Civ 5. Well, just got into it and kinda get a hang of it but I feel like it's not deep enough, especially in politics aspect. And countries are somewhat similar, military and buildings. It's my first turn-based strategy too. So I heard EU 4 is much deeper and more complicated, also found out that CK II is quite interesting too. Now I'm wondering not sure to pick which one up (first). Maybe will pick the other in the future but just one for now.

Actually it's because many good games came out recently: GTA 5, Witcher 3, Batman (whatever problems they had - it is a good game), Fallout 4 and some others I forgot to mention. Many people play those.
Other than that - sure, why not play some good old games from time to time :)

Still not finished with Witcher 3, either. What I've been playing lately... FTL, Gran Turismo 5 (got a new wheel :) ), WipeoutHD, ME3 multiplayer and Warframe. New games suck. Seriously, seems like the games industry has gone from good old "tech demo-ish mash-up with occasional good writing", and into full serial production mode.

But TW3 and ME3 aren't that old, GT5 probably too. And FTL.

quite tempting for GTA 5 with the Steam sale even though shooting game isn't really my thing (I do enjoy Tomb Raider 2013 though) and GTA 5 is third person shooter, isn't it? I can't take FPS. How is the world in GTA 5? Does it feel empty? I have no interest in multiplayer, at least for now.

    Triss... *drools*

    Oh right, GTA V...
GTA V now comes with a first person mode, though I still prefer 3rd person mode. If you had no problem with TR, then you will be fine with GTA V.
World in GTA V varies. In some places it's lively, in other... Well, it feels like a filler. It has a lot of interesting locations, but nothing really happens there.
Story was fun (but short) as well as characters, although Franklin felt like... a generic black dude from the ghetto. Wish they have developed his character a bit more. Missions where you had to control all three of them were a bit bizarre, but due to that sort of adrenaline rush from controlling three chars felt really great.
GTA Online is a grind fest. If it hooks you up it's can be a lot of fun. I've spent a lot of hours there, but recently haven't played it much. I think I got a little bit tired from it.

Hmmm, I think I should play some GTA O. Driving around in the city is fun. But first a quick quest of Now Or Never in TW3... For reasons... :D

also in single player, when not doing quest, I'd control 1 of 3 main characters and I can only use my custom character in Online, correct? I actually just want an open world, sandbox-like shooting game for a change sometimes.
