Looking for a game that'll stress out a modern PC and make it cry manly tears at 1080p

Are there any like seriously beautiful titles that also feature balanced and tight gameplay? It seems to be one or the other these days.

Hey guys I really want to play one of the two giant space sims. No not the other sky ;) Anyhoo I've heard great things about Star Citizen but then again its still in development with no veiw to when its actually gonna be released. On the other hand there's Elite Dangerous which just looks ans sounds awesome to me but really light on depth compared to Star Citizen, but at least its fully released. So which one would you prefer?

If you're looking for a good space sim, Elite Dangerous is the way to go.

If you have a VR headset, then House of the Dying Sun is fantastic.

Forget about Star Citizen, for the simple reason that it isn't released (and will be a LOOONG time before it is).

    Happy holidays

Hey guys, I'm looking for some stealth/action games like Dishonored or Styx, also if anyone can suggest me some open world RPG's the like of Gothic 1-3 / Risen for example, i'd be really greatful. I'm mainly looking for small titles that didn't get recognition, because chances are I played/tried out the big ones before. Doesn't matter how old is it as long as the gameplay and controls arent clunky.

    I don't think you'd like Divinity 2. It's turn-based RPG with lots of text.

If you're looking for stealth-action, check oiut the Deus Ex games (if you're into sci-fi). You also might want to check out Lord of the Rings: Shadow of Mordor, which has more of a action focus instead of a stealth focus. But it's still an incredible game.

Have you checked out the link? Divinity 2 is not TBS...

As for Deus Ex series and Shadow of Mordor, these are pretty well known AAA titles, and OP specifically asked for lesser known titles. I doubt you would be able to miss DE/SOM even if you're blind.

Turn-based RPG with lots of text is welcome as well as long as the story is good, I'm a huge fan of DnD and the games in the universe (especially Neverwinter Nights, well, the first one) as well the KotOR series which are slightly based on dnd rulesets. I've played the Deus Ex's, well most of them aside for Invisible War, and Shadow of Mordor hasn't really got me, it felt more like a hack and slash.

Divinity 2 actually looks good, I'm definitely going to try out (and its on sale on steam now, only £3, so thanks!), I've tried out Divinity: Original Sin but I didn't really like it for whatever reason. Or maybe I just didn't have time for it at the time.

Actually just recently found out about it in a Youtube video which showed some good games that failed to break through. Apparently the story was written by R. A. Salvatore who just happens to be my favorite writer as well, so it's on the list already, thanks!

Then I very, very highly recommend the Nihon Falcom's Trails series (Trails in the Sky, Trails of Cold Steel).

If you like Dishonored chances you're probably looking at immersive sims like Deus Ex, System Shock 2, Thief 2, and Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, and maybe BioShock and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. if you want to get more shooty. Open-world RPG can't think of much else beyond TW3 and TES/Fallout, Dead Island and Dying Light are OK too.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, the distinction was purposely made to detach it from LoTR. The game is not canon and takes quite a few liberties with Tolkien's legendarium.

Most of the good DnD-based CRPGs are the old BioWare and Obsidian titles, but you probably already knew that.

Just be careful, if you ever gonna play Trails in the Sky, better buy both first and Second Chapter at the same time. Oh, and plan a good month of free time to immerse yourself in the game. It's not stealth though, just a simple-looking, deep and endearing JRPG. But it has A LOT of text, so if you want to read then that's the way to go :D

Not just "a lot". All (literally all) of the NPCs have multiple lines of dialogue which change as the player progresses through the plot. Nihon Falcom do world building and Shandification better than just about everyone.

Far Cry 4. It is visually stunning, but every 10 damn seconds something is attacking me, even after liberated the outposts and towers. It is FC 3 on steroids!

Survival mode for FC4 or FC Primal?

Agreed for the outposts attacks. It's so dull and scripted that a few times I let my recently liberated outpost got occupied again just in order not to abandon my current mission. However, I don't recall any attacks on the towers once you liberate them.

Yes, played them both. Liked FC4 more because... well, just set in modern times. I am not really fond of sticks, arrows and pain-in-the-ass torches you need to light up every now and then.

Primal is richer in content, the graphics may be slightly better and it's probably a more unique experience as you don't get to play many prehistoric games, but right now I'm not sure it's worth 25$.

Like you, I very much liked Far Cry 3, completed it two times, but for some reason I couldn't get into FC4. Felt kinda stale right away... Those damn eagles didn't help[ either...

I second The Division, I am still playing through the single player campaign trying to reach lvl ~30 and it is a blast. The Dark Zone is arguably one of my favorite pass times (hence why I am still playing through the single player campaign)

Oh man! that does look awesome... This might be the tipping point :D

I did get up to top level and would grind dark zone, then just go old after some time.

Took some time to check it out and it does look sweet! Putting that on the list of games.
