Well its not bad but the problem is your progression only saves if your hosting the game. I'm not sure if they changed it though through an update.

That is not good, seems like a large oversight.
-
Yes its true about the multiplayer but the game is still good even if you choose to play the whole game in single player.

Agreed, typical of most other far cry's. I do love the series. -
Anyone able to recommend a good jet flight simulator, and would I have to buy flight controls to be able to fly as that would be more realistic I guess?
I'd also like something like flying an Apache attack helicopter or being the gunner (as they have a seperate pilot and gunner in real life). Shame there isn't a 2 player version of that - being in the same cockpit but playing in real time on 2 pcs - that would be awesome.
Thanks

Anyone know of some good PSX JRPGs? I might play some on my netbook some time, or buy the real game for ultimate nostagia, you never know
-
Grandia (but the Saturn version runs better, but we never got it in English)
Lunar: Silver Star Story and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue (remakes of the Sega CD games)
Persona (the dungeon crawler that didn't start it all but was the first we got in English)
Parasite Eve (but not the sequel which failed to be a Resident Evil knockoff)
Suikoden and Suikoden II
Tales of Destiny and Tales of Eternia (because Tales series)
Valkyrie Profile
Wild Arms -
In love with Dungeon Keeper 2 (yep, the one from 1999).
Anybody has a recommendation for a similar game? -
Battle Brothers is an excellent Turn-Based Strategy game where you manage a mercenary company in a medieval fantasy setting (DnD-ish but with little magic spells involved). It has a pretty steep learning curve though.

Destiny 2 is free until 11/18/18.

An early Christmas gift arrived today for me, Steam Gift Card - result!
Does anyone have any good 'open world' game recommendation with lots to do and takes ages to finish? Solo only, no online please.
I enjoyed FO4, TW3 and Metal Gear Solid 5, (Everquest & Everquest 2 years ago), but I'll consider anything if it looks good.
The only problem is waiting for whatever I chose to download before being able to play it!
Thanks

Skyrim.
Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. If you get these then take a look at "Tale of Two Wastelands". It translates FO3 game data into the FNV engine.
If you get any of these three, or are considering any of them, then get over to Gopher's channel on YouTube. He has tutorials and pretty much everything you could ever want or need to know about modding these games.Woodking likes this. -
Wait until the end-of-year holiday sale so you can make your gift-card go farther. I know it'll be tough to sit on it, but you'll thank me when that sale hits. Reportedly it's starting on Dec 20, so you probably only have 11 days to wait.
As for games, I'd also recommend Skyrim: EE if you haven't played Skyrim. It's like Fallout 4 but fantasy instead of post-apocalyptic. The jury is out on whether it's better or worse than Witcher 3. I'd say.. different. Witcher 3 is more cinematic and focused on specific characters. I think the story and quests in Wticher 3 are much more rich, but Elder Scrolls is more of a sandbox for your character. They are both great games. Also if you don't have the two expansions for Witcher 3 they are a must, they are both good and well worth playing.
In fact, Skyrim: EE is 40% off RIGHT NOW for 23 more hours. Not sure if that discount will go deeper during the end-of-year sale, but I could have sworn I've seen in 50% off. I might be wrong.
Fallout:NV is also great, but the technology is a step back from Skyrim: EE and Fallout 4. Not sure if you care about that or not.
One kind of case for Skyrim Classic instead of the EE are there are fantastic total conversions like Enderal that don't work in the EE version of Skyrim that are like whole new games. Enderal is, in my opinon, better than the vanilla Skyrim campaign. Really though you can't go wrong either way if you just want to install something and get going.
Between Skyrim and Skyrim:EE including playing Enderal I have about 590 hours in Skyrim, so you can definitely play it for a long time no matter which direction you go. If you just want to install and play without fussing with modding, get the EE.Woodking likes this. -
Anything out there like They Are Billions?

Should I bother getting into Star Wars or Star Trek since the games are older? Anyone still play LOTRO?

I played SWTOR for a while I think it's going to stop having content pretty soon though I'm trying to get into ffxiv but haven't found the right guild yet

Is Anthem really as bad as most reviews describe it? On paper it looks like it should be a lot of fun...
-
Its a luke warm title, which is bad considering how much hype it got. Though personally its exactly what I thought it would be and received exactly how I thought it would be.
The only thing I didnt expect was the high load times.killkenny1 likes this. -
It looks like fun for a while, I'd try it for sure.
I wonder if it's still included with every 2080 purchase. Haven't seen a specific ad in my case but I don't know if I should expect something in the box. -
Is anyone playing anthem let me know

I'd really want to try it but sadly it wasn't included in my RTX2080 laptop purchase and for now I'm not sure I want to pay for it... Maybe after some more updates/better reviews or price drops. Best I could find right now is on g2a for $50.

I know it's a port over but I've been playing ghost recon future soldier. I finally figured out how to run it at native 4k and the 1070 handles it quite nicely. It was like $10. Love the tactical gameplay it's a nice change of pace from run and gun stuff life BF1. Getting it to run in 4k was a bit tricky and can't seem to run it in windowed mode at 2k on my monitor but luckily the 1070 handles it at 4k just fine.

Been getting back into Dauntless with the recent console launch last month. Not surprising, but it plays better on my 7 year old PC than the PS4 Pro. It's a fun Monster Hunter lite title for anyone interested.

If any of you likes JRPG's in the style of Final Fantasy 7? I can't recommend Battle Chasers Nightwar enough. I got it free with my XBOX Game Pass subscription and i've been hooked. The story is decent, the voice acting is superb, and the turn based combat is top notch with a solid amount of strategy. The game can be as tough of a challenge as you want it to be but it's not overwhelming even on the highest level.
There are parts of the game especially the colors chosen where you think you're playing Diablo III and the fighting sequence, you'd swear it was Street Fighter V. A really solid, addictive game even better when it's free. -
Right in the feels with BFBC2
