I should really grab the US version of SC2 too

bnet decides to go down when we start our first 2v2 match :[, i'm livid right now (well not really, but annoyed) -

Yeah you dropped out but me and the other 2 guys did not.
I hung out for a few minutes and was like... ok no way am I doing 2v1 and not knowing how to use zerg so i quit. After I quit it then disconnected me. -

GG's guys.
JCMS that game you lagged out of I just won it
My rush took out his partners economy hard, and then later when he counter attacked I had void rays waiting by his base to be abandoned and the good ol' base race he lost. -
Does US East and West coast play well - lag/different server issues?
-
Just signed the petition. If anyone's up for a friendly game or two, and ya see me on, feel free to give a shout!
-
I'm itching to friend people but I'm trying to get some account stuff changed so I don't confuse everyone
-
Anyone have a guest pass to spare?
-
Diamond 2v2 random is so hard compared to 1v1, still only rank 50 diamond for that. -
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
2v2 is more fun for me usually too, just seems less stressing to me if I lose.
I dont know why that is, I guess because you offload some of the tension on your team mate and have somebody to talk too.
Or maybe its just because you dont have to blame yourself if you lose
Every 2v2 I do with BaconPie is like pure steamroller. I like playing with him as he coaches me into a better player and is really good as a team mate.
He asks if your ready to attack, does team strategies like build our base together in the center of the map and kindly points out my flaws "why did you build a forge so early?"
I dunno lol I thought an early forge was good to get upgrade asap and for canons, but he is about 2x better than me so I think his advise is worth hearing. -
Added myself to the list (fex : 988) - feel free to hit me up for 1v1 some time.
-
Played with a bunch of NBR people today and yesterday.
GGs everyone. -

Im looking to do some comp stomps, there are a bunch of achievements for that. Will be a good time to practice off race since I really only know how to use protoss.
I gave Zerg a shot today and its way differenteven Terran while I know how to use them from extensive single player mode I do not have that grace that a online Terran player has.
-
i think i am getting better, just got promoted to 1v1 platinum
i have only played with vicious and jcms so far.
Also, if any NBRers are interested in getting a custom game up on the map "INFERNAL ARENA", send me a PM/msg in game and we can setup a friendly game on this map.
for more information on this map: YouTube - INFERNAL ARENA - Custom 3v3 Map - Part 1 of 2 - StarCraft 2‎ (presented/played by HuskyStarcraft) It seems like a great map to have some fun on. -
Man I'm interested in that map too but I can't find it on the Asian servers
Anyone mind giving me the link to the US SC2 Client downloader? (The 3mb-ish one). I wanna test to see if Asian servers really get to play on NA servers
Heck if it does work, I can sense people buying Asian server's copy so they have 2 regions to play on -
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Im down for some Infernal Arena. I should be playing a lot this weekend.
-
Also sorry kbs, I was in an epic 2 hour game when you messaged me. My bad. -
oh and reizo, https://us.battle.net/account/management/sc2/download.html?gameRegion=NA&lang=en-US&platform=win that's the US client, although i doubt it will work since blizzard said you had to buy another of the game if you want to play in the other regions -

any of you guys using a SSD and notice you load stages faster than others on the loading screen?
loading feels slow to me, I am not ever the first to load anymore but I am used to my computers usually being the fastest in stage loading (I was almost always first in WC3 and its the same computer) so I wonder if SC2 is just not accurate when showing loading from other players or if just a lot more people have SSD
And I wish I had sent my .psd file for my new wallpaper I am working on.
Here is my work in progress. I may chop it into 3 pieces for you single monitor guys so you can just use it for a regular wallpaper or for a pretty tech tree reference.
Full Size - http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/3006/sc2wallpaper.jpg
SC2 does not support tri monitor so I just see the desktop of my two side monitors while playing. I actually play with 1920x1080 on the center monitor even though its a 1920x1200 monitor.Last edited by a moderator: Feb 6, 2015 -
Mined out entire map, ended becoming 4 200 supply army vs 4 200 supply army.
Both armies basically got obliterated. Ended up with mass worker battle.
I'll post the replay later. -
i dont think ssd or hdd affect the load times of the maps since most blizz maps are pretty small. i think the load times are more dependent on your cpu.
that wallpaper would have been great for when i first started playing sc2, but i think i have the tech trees for all three races down by memory lol. (too much sc2)
random, i think my computer would die if i watch that replay. sounds epic though, lol. who played with you from nbr, btw? -
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Yeah tech tree is pretty easy, even for a new person since any unit will tell you what it requires with a mouse over.
I just thought it will look cooler than just a backdrop for a wallpaper.
Only issue with it I noticed today when I tested it was that it hides icons pretty well if you have a messy desktop -
i need some to play some nubz
I have yet to win a game lol! And the sad thing is, I hate losing and everytime I lose, it's detrimental. Would be awesome to play with someone who can give some guidance as well. I used to play RA and RA2 back in the days but SC2 is a different animal.
-
I've got SSD and notice what you have, Vicious. I end up loading about as fast as everyone else, even slightly slower. I'm chalking it up to loading being more CPU bottlenecked than hard drive, and I'm on a wimpy little laptop i7 vs. everyone else's desktop Core 2's and i7's (I'm betting that most folks are playing SC2 on desktop).
Most maps load fast enough that it's no bother, but one or two just take a long time for some reason (campaign and custom maps, mostly, probably on account of having triggers and such bothersome things). -

Make sure to do the tutorials if you know absolutely nothing, and once your good and want to get better try the challenges. -
Could you try uploading it on megaupload or something? Thanks
Blizzard mentioned that people on Asian servers are able to play on North American servers too as soon as the game's launched. However, I tried adding NBR people and it won't allow me. Now, I'm just going to test if I need to have the US client to do that.
Man you guys sound like you're having funPeople here I play with always curses around and refuses to admit their own mistakes and kept on leaving me to die whenever I get attacked in team battles but curses around when I'm busy attacking opponent's base and he gets demolished
-
-
Yeah I know I just need the client downloader and I should be able to download it (I did download the European version too at home here xD). During beta, the EU client also updated just fine here in Asia

StarCraft_2_NA_en-US.exe
Hopefully you can access mediafire. -

Hope this really works I really want to play with you guys xD sounds like you guys are having so much fun
Edit: Bleh authentication error o.o They're really secure about these stuff. I should just grab a third copy for NA -

Ah
Thanks for the information. I did read somewhere about them mentioning "As soon as after launch" but I guess they changed that to "within 60 days"

GG's everybody today!
Today was the first time I got to sit and play for a long time. Got 10+ games in.
The friends list worked wonders, almost always I can find somebody from NBR online (not early morning when I get off work thats about it) and everybody gets along great and we have a lot of fun.
Gotta run to work, but will try to get some of these games up on youtube after I FRAPS the replays.
Wish somebody would have stuck around on that FFA at the end to fight my force. -

sigh
i'm about to hit 0-10 mark for the 1v1 battles. -

ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Only ones I have left is to beat the game on brutal, and the night raid one where you have to beat the game on normal in under 8 hours.
From there I have to start getting online ones. Not sure I want to go back and do campaign on brutal after doing it 3x over and it took alot of replay on hard for those odds achievements. -
V! Are you still gaming tonight or?

Wish I could join this NBR Friends List, but unfortunately I have the SEA ( South East Asian ) Edition.
Wish Blizzard would allow cross region play in the future. -
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Im sure the reason for no cross region play is good. Probably one or both of the following.
1.) To reduce lag, everybody knows how bad it sucks in Starcraft when you have a lagging player. If you can get one in your own region going across the seas is sure to make it worse.
2.) To help isolate the leagues and let you be competing with people that live the same kind of environment and culture you do. Just imagine if the Koreans were on the US servers from what I hear they would just dominate. -
I guess you're right Vicious, just wished I could've had the chance to play with people from NBR ^^
