Been following them, really nice players and matches. Btw Psy just released a video for hotkeys, not that i will play like that, but always good to see if there are ways to do things more efficient and easier. Zerg Hotkeys (Control Groups)

this game is far more better than I have expected and I love how most of the hotkeys are still the same. Runs great on Ultra on my G50vt-x5 :D. Does anyone know until when the beta lasts?

^ tomorrow is the last day for activating new beta keys, although I don't know when it ends b/c it still needs to add Facebook integration into the beta.

Hmm my new notebook hasn't arrived yet, should be here by Wed. I went and pre-ordered today at Gamestop since its the last day to get the beta keys. If I activate on my desktop today, will I still be able to download and put it on my notebook?

Yes the beta is associated with your battlenet account not your desktop. So just activate it on your battlenet account and you will be able download it on your notebook.

Hey, what are your system specs? Do you play on ULTRA on bnet or just offline with the AI? I'd like to know if it'll run on ULTRA just fine on the MSI GX640 (i5-430m + 5850).

    Thanks man :)

Nope, but there are tons of custom loaders online that allows you to play against AI, and even load and play user created custom maps where it's not even available on Bnet yet. Already played quite a few SC2 TD myself, which is very fun, though unpolished compared to WC3 versions (which is kind of duh).

Not if you download some player made AIs, yes they are still crap but at least it's not that easy.

Yeah custom map very easy AI so so bad lol. But still good for learning hotkeys and trying out units/buildings.

I should do a game and just get 200 probes and rush them. Id probably win.

I play online on bnet 2 on 2.
    My laptop specs are
Windos 7 home premium 64 bit
Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 2.13 GHz processor
NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GS w/512 MB GDDR3 VRAM
    4 GB DDR2 SDRAM

Your MSI GX640 will run it very smoothly maxed out settings. Might depend on the res though. Whats your native resolution?

I respectfully disagree sir!! (says me with the unabashed Terran loving avatar :p)

Seriously it hasnt seemed to impede on the top zerg players in competition so far, they are just switching to more hydra heavy armies with more early attacking to allow them to macro to tier 2 to get hydras. So far zerg has been still doing well in tournaments I saw over the weekend.

The GX's screen res is a 15.4" 1680x1050 screen with the ATI Mobility Radeon 5850. I want to play on at least HIGH everything, if not ULTRA everything. (I havent bought the computer yet btw).
    Thanks man.

Dookie are we still really asking this question? lol. It'll run fantabiously. I'd suspect at the minimum high if not ultra. Remember the gx640 more then meets the recommended specs.

Does anyone know how well the ENVY 14's 5650 would fare with regard to SC2 on HIGH or ULTRA?

Hmm... good thing for the ENVY 14's 5650 that HIGH isnt all that much different from ULTRA. I guess I'd be satisfied with ENVY too for SC2.

Got a game in today another 2v2. We won the game.

Protoss & Terran (enemy) vs Protoss and Zerg

My zerg team member did not rush at all he was just massing an army of hydras and other stuff so he was very vulnerable in the beginning. The protoss enemy put a pylon and start a cannon wall on the edge of his base really early on and also rushed my team mate.

I defended his base for him with my zealots and then started to get a unit I normally do not use the collosus to get those cannons out of the way.

With the range upgrade I can sit there and pick off the cannons easy with no damage but he had mass stalker and sentry to back them up so I had to keep hit & run tactics into my own cannons that was defending my natural expansion.

My colosus really did there job, I lost a few of them but killed many units and canons first. Then the terran came to wipe me out with a huge army carried into my main. I had like 3 colossus though for those canons and man did they shred up his forces. Mass marine/marauder just shreded up. I brought in a few dark templar I had watching my parimeter and took out his whole army.

After that my team mate counter attacked with his huge zerg army and took them out, and I just came in near the end to help mop up.

It was a good combo of me being the shield and him the sword and we took the enemy out.

I had a hard time playing for some reason my mouse cursor would not let me scroll down only left/right/up so I had to revert to my old arrow key and mouse click play style that feels awkward now that I am used to the mouse/hotkeys. Also I was on my laptop so its harder for me to play than my big 24" screen at home and its so dark I cant see in the fog of war... I could not even see my base exit ramp to set a way point until I sent a unit there :/

Hm... I'm still using roach moving around burrowed... Considering the roach nerf, some people thought that zerg players will use less roaches and doesn't bother making proper counters for them so it's easy to catch them off guard if they didn't scout early on

Just had my first SC2 crash, was one of my best games too.

We were in a even fight, enemy had mass voids and took out my expansion and my team mates expansion, but I was harassing constantly with warp in and slowly building a killer force.

I had like 6 carriers, 6 voids, a few pheonix and a mothership and started to roll over the map. I took out 2 expansions and was just about finished taking out the main base of one of the enemy and the game froze and crashed.

I think too much going on at one time? I had it on ultra and noticed a bit of lag when the mothership came out and cloaked my guys.

The carrier/void combo is really mean, carriers start good damage right away and get attention of enemy then the voids sneak in and start building up damage, not that they would know because the mothership had everything cloaked :D

Wish I could have rejoined that game :/ or atleast got a replay but I got nothing :(

Found a pretty good TD game, just called Standard TD. Brings back some memories.

I cant wait to see how great the custom games get, I foresee myself probably never playing the main game mode outside of the single player campaign and just hording custom games.

My favorite TD games were the "Maul" games where you had to build huge mazes and the mobs were shared between all players rather than each having his own area like this standard td game has.
