I forgot to build pylons for you and your army warp ins comes from my resource bank ._. I wonder how they split mined minerals for leavers

 

I don't get why you would have to build psi fir leavers if they are of the same race. :/

 

lol yeah. It doesn't even show your psi either I didn't know you were supply blocked

 

Well, Starcraft only went through one patch so far. Can't wait until it is fully patched up.
I find it hard to control all my units while making more at the same time. I think I need to build some defence early game also.

I don't see how that works. all of your tech structures will be at your main. or at least some of them.

it's the low-level bronze opponents you're facing, tbh. any basic timing push will force an instant GG, as that kind of spread out early expanding means you don't have the forces to deal with a 25-30 supply push. or even an early rush.

edit: for some reason, I clicked on this thread and it opened page 117 instead of the last page. the above comment was with regard to some bronze guy's strategy of opening, setting up minimal defenses at his main, then fast-expanding to gold. sounded like a fail and a half.

 

Lol, one thing I learned about doing a Protoss 4gate - don't do it with half a heart. It won't work. Either you go all the way, or you don't. Don't build 3 gates and assume you can quick tech to robo, or something.

I'd suggest you start now. You seemed to know pretty much what you're doing. At your level, I think practice matches could hurt you as the rocks create a fake sense of security you normally don't have and the game speed is normal.

You definitely whooped me. Lots of things to learn about 4gating I never knew about I guess. Like who knew 20 probes was too much? The game I think was determined once you flanked me. I should probably watch it again. Sorry I had to leave early

When a player (Divine in this case) leaves, then the resources he gets with his probes are split between the remaining players. We could choose to build for him if you wanted, but I think? normally people just use that extra income to build more of their own stuff.

I loved the one where I 4gated and died horribly.

That was my second favorite game last night! I barely did anything that game; you and Reizo basically killed them

Pfffft I only replied to five posts from the last four pages.

I should also include the highlight of last night for me: I got the achievement for killing 40 units with a single unit last night! All because Reizo died and had nothing better to do than control my one lone banshee. Catching up to Vicious' 3000+ achievement points!

I don't know what units would counter what units. :/

 

Check the SC2 website here. Scroll down a bit and you'll see a description of what the units good and weak against as well as basic strategies for each race on how to deal with them.

Woah is that how SC2 looks on the lowest possible settings? ._. Looks way different compared to mine

How are you recording it? Fraps?

 

I frapsed it then compressed it at 300 bitrate kbps with virtualdub on xvid codec, audio is mpeg-4. That's not really how it look likes on lowest possible settings. :/ It did go from a 14gb file to a 250mb file...
After watching back on this vid, I need to learn how to use hotkeys. :3

It splits the files for me also. In vdub, you would append the files together than compress it under whatever codec you want.

For the compressing, you would go to... Video -> Compress OR CTRL + P and choose the xvid codec. The 32 bit VDub is better at locating codecs cause normally codecs are 32 bit? I believe. The 64 bit VDub uses 64 bit codecs.
And since I have K-Lite Media Codec Pack (32 bit) I have to use the 32 bit vdub.

For audio, go to audio, change it to full processing mode, then compress to mpeg.

 

There's no xvid codec on the list for videos Might be my codec pack... Hm... Lemme look into it some more

Audio is supposed to be MPEG-3.
Video is xvid.
You start the compression by saving it as an avi.

I recorded with a Sony HD cam earlier today, and that was it.

(you get to see how silly [not in a good, or funny sense] Bronze level play is...)

Ignore it. Just let it upload, youtube will do it's own wierd thing to it. I upload my stuff as full AVCHD and about 1GB in size for 10min of 1080i video


I don't really care, as I just let it upload over an hour or so.

 

Oh, on the compression menu, you can have... configure the settings. So you click target rate so it will switch to target bitrate (if not auto set) and put 300.

You should encode video with H264, and Audio with AAC they are so much better than old school xvid/divx and mp3

The last video I did was like 10 minutes long 1080p and was only 345mb and was the same quality visually as the loseless raw fraps recording.

 

slight reasoning behind that, is Youtube HD uses h264. 25fps, and upto 4mb bitrate, iirc.
