You still have to admit that's an epic game.

 

Yea that game is pretty epic. Would have loved to see how you dealt with some well placed EMP's. Also no forge upgrades in a game that is over an hour long?

One question I have about SC2, is why does the game end when all your buildings are destroyed?

I had a game where I know the enemy was pretty low on resources destroyed all his workers (probes), he had a decent army that I pretty much let to destroy my main base while I ran away and started building two new command centers. Our armies were probably a fair match (not many in either case) so instead of risking it, I decided to run about a dozen SCV's to start building command centers and gathering resources right away since I know he had little left, and wanted to build up my army a bit before finishing him off. I even had two banshee's heading over to start to lay waste to his encampment. Well he destroyed my last building before my new command centers were finished and it said game over.

I was pretty ticked off. Seems kinda silly to me. Oh well.

 

It sort of has to be that way so your have to defend your base, if game ended when last unit was dead instead, just think about how many people would BM with overlords all over the map and things like that.


It does suck, but next time your in that situation do a fast building like a supply depot first.

 

I'd have thought a building in progress would count as a building.

Incidentally, do you play much anymore? I haven't seen you around in ages!

Someone knows if there is problem if i use a razer naga with SC2?

The next week i return to Mexico (and i will play again SC2 normally in my desk ), and im considering to buy this mouse for SC2 and few MMORPGS like Ragnarok Online/AION.

I hear that if i use some accesories there is risk that they could ban me (because of the macros topic), and i dont want that (in other side it would be a bad purchase)

No, just haven't had time to play lately. Boys keeping me super busy. Just moved them into a bedroom together and into beds (out of crib ), so bed time has been.... interesting to say the least.

If you're going "mass" any gas heavy unit as zerg, you need a third base. No ifs, buts, ands, ors. You need a third base. That, or you need to balance your army out with a decent amount of lings and whatever gas unit you're going to go for--although I have to say, Hydras aren't something normal Zergs would mass unless you're getting air-harassed a lot or if your opponent is a Protoss that went mass Stalkers.

But since you're zerg, you really shouldn't sit around amassing units (unless you've scouted your opponent and noticed that they're well-turtled in and are teching/massing). Use zerg's mobility to hit them where they're weak! Muta harass their mineral lines, use zerglings to get map control and deny potential expo's, etc.

I'm still having trouble assigning control groups to attack units and using them... I feel like it's holding me back from putting sentries in my blink stalker army


Anyway, what do you guys think will be in the zerg expansion? New units for each race? How many new units?

 

Haven't played in a while. Decided to pop in for a 1v1. Here's a perfect example of a failed cannon rush. lol. Marines ftw! And no I'm not drunk. I just guzzled a glass of wine before I played, hence my remark. For once I didn't freak out, and actually was persistent and it was clear the opponent (a) used up most of his initial game resources on cannons, (b) didn't set up ANY defenses, (c) didn't expand nearly quickly enough for Protoss, and (d) didn't push forward once I was down with very few SCV's. If he had pushed with a small army once I killed his probe, I would have most likely lost for certain right there. Had zero resources. Thank god for that mule.

Steppes of War.SC2Replay

Nevermind my extracurriculars at the end. Was just scoping out the map for fun.

 

Can anyone recommend a decent 1v1 replay that lasts maybe 10-20 minutes with lots of action going on? I'm trying to do a benchmark on my netbook to see if the overclock has any significant improvement with SC2 or not. Thanks.

One gameplay comment, if I may? I think you suicided too many marines trying to take out the cannons. Once you killed off the probe, you could have either a) waited until you had siege mode to take out the cannons from a safe distance or b) had your marines (and, ideally, some marauders) focus fire down the pylons - killing off one 200/200 pylon is more efficient than killing off just two 150/150 cannons.

I've stopped chit-chatting at the beginning of games - I find it's usually a ruse to keep your guard down for the sneaky cheese. At the beginning of a game, when I'm macroing hard, watching my min/supply like a hawk, I don't often have APM to waste on typing anything much beyond "gl hf". If your opponent does, maybe it's because he's banking minerals for a cheese rush.

... a third base is quite essential. Sadly, I'm not usually confident enough to get my expansions as early as some people do. I would guess that my third is probably later than most other peoples - it's something I need to work on, I know.

But, I'll be back Sunday evening, on my own until the fam comes back on Thursday ... which means I'll be free to play as soon as I get home from work until I burn out! Yay!

I'm doing dota and black ops zombie marathon today :3

 

Well, I was trying to find a point where I could take out the pylon with as little damage as possible to marines, but couldn't. I would have had to build another barracks to build marauders or moved an existing barracks to build the other expansion (whatever its called) for marauders, or a siege ability but didn't think it would be outside cannon range considering my one tank got demolished pretty quick. Granted yeah once the probe was down I should have just laid low and used a little more strategy, but just wanted that stuff taken down. Whatever.

 

My school just won another match in the Collegiate StarLeague, putting us at 2nd place in our division.
