I'm in SC2 for the moment if you want a quick 1v1. I PM'd you there.
-
I'm on right now if anyone wants to play.

I want to play!... but I have to go to work in like 2 hours and have not gone to bed yet... So think I am going to get a power nap.

Power naps are powerful

Haven't played this in sooooo long! I'm thinking about coming back to it, but getting owned is such a turn off

Lots of us are taking breaks I am almost a fresh noob now
Nothing wrong with practicing in custum games vs NBR members so you can practice without bashing your ladder rating. -
AmazingGracePlayer Notebook Deity
I only played for about two weeks after the game was released... Maybe I'll pick it up in a week when my GREs are over.
-
Oh please Vicious. Reizo said the same thing and demolished me in two seconds.
But yeah, fun to practice with NBR folk because they are all jerks and you feel good taking out your aggressions on them even if you do lose. j/k.
You and I should play. I really am not good, despite playing some 50 odd ladder games, I still suck. My biggest issue is I'm just slow to react, or get flustered and make really stupid moves, like move my bioball to be obliterated when I should just back off for a bit and build better counter units. -

If it makes you feel better last time me and Reizo played it was 3-0 for me
But its amazing how fast you lose this game if you stop playing for a bit. -
Vicious is just too good of a viking for me to beat
-
Word of wisdom, just rage quit on Reizo, it makes him all mad. lol.
-
AmazingGracePlayer Notebook Deity
My problem is I only know how to rush. And if rush fails, I usually just quit
-
I'm the opposite. I only know how to turtle, and if a rush wins, I quit. lol.
-
I like fighting turtlers
-
How about AmazingGracePlayer and me against Reizo. -
I'll clearly get stomped
-
LOL, yeah right. You and your stupid bats.
I hate those things and always lose to them. One game (not against you) I had like 2:1 vikings against those mutalisks and lost in no time. People say to use stimpacked marines. Same thing like 2:1 stimpacked marines with a medivac vs mutalisks and got stomped. It's weird though because sometimes I see my units get demolished in no time. And other times its like they're invulnerable (less often than not of course), and only lose a few marines against a whole army. I don't get it.
-
You're clearly not doing it right
Mass marines the mutas
-
But mutas are so fast. If you're a supermicro like you are, it's impossible to stop.
-
There's this thing called "sensor tower". Use them
-
Sensor tower. Just more resources for something that doesn't do anything. It won't give my units any more range or firepower, and knowing a half second before someone arrives doesn't help either.
-
Plant them. See mutalisks moving about. Move marines to the side where mutalisks will fly over.
Chances are, the zerg player will move the mutas towards mineral lines or something and will fly over the marines if you position them properly. -
It won't matter. Last time by the time I reacted even knowing where they were coming from, by the time my marines got there, it was way too late. You have to understand I'm a two year old in this game, and I'll never learn or improve really. I've played now almost 100 ranked games and still haven't improved a lick.
-
At least you have marauders now
YOU'RE IMPROVING! >:[ -
LOL. I *choose* not to build marauders. I use most of the units in the game, but typically stick with MMM and stealth banshees unless I need other units.
And why aren't you in game now? I just played a couple. I'll play you again if you want to pummel someone and promise I won't rage quit.
I may give you at least one 'g'.
Or maybe a 2v2 if you want to risk your stats.
-
4.50am. I'm tired
-
Here's a game everyone will have fun watching. A couple of handicapped newbs duke it out. Pretty funny watching, we pass each other so many times and never see each other lol. Great game. In the end I had units spread out ALL OVER the map. There were some units that I didn't even know I had, until they got close to them and used it to my advantage thankfully. Neither of us could build any more units so it was master micro time, lol. I have no idea how I survived some of his earlier attacks, but he should have pushed forward a lot sooner and I would have certainly been toast. LOL. That was actually a fun game, I was actually laughing the last five to ten minutes (of 43 minute game, sheesh).

I never use them, but one game when I first started to play random and got terran I built it on accident when I meant to build something else and it was a terran vs terran game and it won me the game.
I was on the lower side of the map and had one of those basses you have to run along side the edge of it before getting to the ramp. he was using heavy tanks and doing a slow push to kill me, but I saw his gathering forces due to the sensor tower and I knew when his tanks were not seiged because I saw the movement. So I went heavy marauder and stimmed and ran in soon as I saw his stuff moving to a camping position. That small window of opportunity was life or death and that sensor tower made the difference.
So yes its a situational tool but it does have its place. In the grand scheme of a larger game the cost is nothing, but its not something you would get early game instead of vital units or structures. -

But quitting when you suffer great casualties from a rush is different from quitting after not beating someone with a rush
I can't seem to focus on a game for more than 15 minutes, not that I have ADD or anything, but the game just gets boring. -
You clearly haven't fought ht yet
He's impenetrable
-
... for the first sixty seconds....
There I finished your sentence.
-
Ditto. But also it's because my computer couldn't handle a 1v1 game without lag if it went on for more than 10-15 mins. Now that I have a new computer, I still haven't changed...
Try thor! They're overpowered against bats. Makes me cry :'( -
farful's overpowered against everything >:[
I should retire -
Everything... except Reizo. I still remember being down 3-2 in our best of 7 that we never finished.
-
I lost against you iirc
-
context: http://forum.notebookreview.com/gam...t-2-friends-list-database-42.html#post6826277
You were up 3-2! -
You won by forfeit and won by forfeit it shall be >:[
-
Thor, really? Hmmm. I just hate building those big expensive units like battlecruisers. If used appropriately they can be devastating, but it only takes one screwup or misjudgement and you lose all those resources. If I can anticipate an air attack I usually cluster some missile turrets in strategic locations to at least do some damage and delay the inevitable. But I'm bad at scouting.
-
A thor's anti air attack does splash damage. Combined with it being 4 hits of 10 damage, you'll only need 3-4 thors to take out 30 or so mutalisks
-
In a FFA, I always play zerg and mass bat riders... I mean mutalisks. Thor is the only unit that makes me cry
Oh, and psi storm, but I rarely see that.
-
farful cries? Impawsible
-
I also cried when I was down 3-2 against you in our best of seven series before you decided to rage-disconnect. True story.

I can't handle any ladder games. My hands start shaking if my rush is not successful and I feel like I'm going to have a minor heart complication. Same when I give public speeches and presentations, I get really nervous and my hands get really sweaty and they shake a lot. -
I don't touch ladder games :3 I just play custom games with friends and that's all
-
Why not? You're pretty darn good. Heck even my awful self is about 50% w/l in bronze. So there are people that suck worse than me and you're at least ten times better... Go for it!
-
Reizo! How do you feel now that you've made 1,000 useless posts
Practice really does make perfect. You just need to learn how to care less about ladder games/giving speeches. Once you ladder like 50 times straight, you'll eventually stop getting minor heart complications
And once you deal with that, you can take the time to figure out what to do once your rush has failed...
No but seriously, I think the trick is to stop caring to overcome nervousness. And just doing this over and over (playing ladder games, giving speeches) will help with that. -
I feel so happy reaching 1,000 useless posts -sob-
I'm always nervous in all my games that many things pop up in my mind but my hands can't keep up
And no, I'm still not going to touch the ladders -
I had the same exact problem when I started playing ladder matches.
This is true. Play enough games and/or go in with the mindset that you might not win and you'll come out okay. -
I never play with the mindset of winning but rather, have fun
Though it changes as the game flows...
