    I played a few games as Terran today ... macro is hard! :eek:

    I've heard people say Zerg macro is hard, that's BS. All you have to remember is to spawn larva and creep. Easy peasy.

    With Terran, you have to remember to call down mules, build supply depots and other buildings (keeping an eye out for idle SCVs), and build SCVs/units one at a time (no cueing!) Phew!

    Zerg is probably the hardest micro to be good at it, since you cant just go dump resources at warp gates or que up units like Terran/Protoss if your macro slips.

    If you do not spawn larva you really hurt production, and doing things like spreading creep and scouting etc take a good amount of attention for me.

    If I mained zerg i think I would get used too it, but as a random play every time I get a race its like starting all over again after using a different race for a bit.

    I actually have been thinking of changing to main one race esp now that I am not playing as often, but think I will stick with random for the sake of it.

    You don't necessarily build one units at a time. It's just recommended. If you have extra resources piling up really quickly then just queue it since that same resource will go to that unit anyway.

    Just train one at a time early on due to the fact that you need to be very quick in erecting more production buildings which makes it strict. When you have enough production buildings and a steady economy, spam the unit queue :p

    Damn Vicious ninja'd me :(

    But one other thing I find difficult, is keeping track of units. With zerg, I put units in control groups while they're spawning. But with Terran, because they're popping out one at a time, I can't/don't keep up. And there's so many buildings with so many rally points to keep track of! I know, I know, I could set them all to the same rally point, but then you end up with units traipsing halfway across the base, which I find not very helpful when being harassed by the other player. :eek:
    I didn't think you still played ... I never see you on anymore. :(

    I haven't played for quite a while now :) I'm really really rusty in that game now :D

    Regarding the unit rally point, set the rally point to one unit which you think will stay alive (Not a marine who marches forward to that baneling...) like a siege tank at the back or something so all units popping out will run to that unit. Set it to a ground slightly behind your main army if you're turtling. Hotkeying is just an extra micro for me :p It's something you'll get used to.

    If you feel like winning, I can do a few 1v1s with you now :p

    I'm not sure how many times I've gone into a battle, and things go well, so I go back to my base to spawn larva, train units, get upgrades, etc., and 10 seconds later, I go back to the battle to see the last of my units being killed.

    Interestingly, I just found out there's a pretty quick and painless way to spawn larva at all your bases with minimal interruption: select hotkey for all queens (assuming you do this, otherwise it doesn't work), press V for inject larva, then with your left thumb, hold down right shift, press backspace with left index finger, click hatch, backspace, click hatch, etc. ... I've tried it a couple of times, and I haven't go the hang of it yet.

    Gah ... I'm still learing little things like that. I only just recently found out that CTRL+F1 selects all idle units, saving me a ton of time and effort (though, of course, reducing my APM!)

    I rally units to my other units too (like a tank) one that bothers me is rally a drop ship to a unit and it picks it up :(

    Who knows how many units I lost on accident like that.

    In other news, I'm getting pretty cheesed off with league promotion. Despite being "slightly favoured" against high-ranked silver league players, I'm still in bronze! :mad:

    Of course, in total violation of company policy, I did install SC2 on my work computer, but it's powerful slow. Who knew a GeForce 6150SE wouldn't be adequate? :eek:

    I will be happy to overwhelm you with my Awesome Terran Macro™ later on tonight, though. :)
