Yeah but its a bloody shame SSB for the Wii bombed bad for online gamplay.

Lag in many battles, and a long wait beyond belief and almost no options for battle like number of players. Mario Kart was the first Wii game I know of that did online right.

If smash bros had the online right I would probably still play that game, but vs cpu is no fun. So SF4 it is!

Man...that last boss battle is really pissing me off. I am not being able to beat him in the 2nd round playing in Medium Hard. :(

True online sucks but the fun really comes from playing with your buddies right next to you. And yea I was at Frys today playing SF4 on the ps3, it was fun but I got beat by the computer. I put it on hard though and yea what difficult did you beat the game at?

Also, I dunno if I should wait for july 7th to get the steam version or get the bundle with the gamepad for 60 bucks...

I was NEVER able to even get into a match of SSM online. Never. Maybe now would be a good time to try again.

im thinking about trying again but i have a feeling those same lag problems are going to occur cause i went on smash online sometime in March and it was STILL lagging. It was only noticeably better then when it was released.

Just got my copy of steam 2 minutes ago, pre-loading it now.

I'll do a little mini review of this game and put up some HD gameplay clips of it like I do for most of my new games.

I can even put of videos of fights between me and other forum mates :D

SSBB's Online sucks. Plain and simple... I've had SSBB for ages and never use the online... maybe a couple of times against local friends, but that's about it. Mostly we play 4 ppl on the same Wii, much better to enjoy it that way...

SSBB didn't bomb because of the lack online, it sucks purely due to the crap mechanics change from SSBM. It essentially made everyone 3x more floaty took out almost all combos except King dedede (or w/e his name is) chain grab. Its fun for a party game, but as a competitive fighter, SSBM>all.

Anyways... sorry for the off topic post.

I like this game but the computer opponents must have a huge Do Cheap Shots sub routine programmed into every single Arcade match or something.

Its not too bad until you reach your rival, and seth.

2nd stage seth if your doing the 3 round standard, first round he fights you but 2nd round he uses his OMG powerful EX moves over and over, teliports around like a maniac and also if you start to beat him, he will pull out his ultra and pretty much finish you off.

The grapplers seem really strong in this game when the computer uses them, in past games I always thought they were the weakest but both abel and the cook guy can put quite a beating on me.

yea seth is annoying on the second round if its a 3 round match, but then i figured out that i should spam focus attacks as much as possible. It helps!

Have not played really, busy with family.

Waiting for my USB cables to get here from monoprice so I can hack some adapter cables and play 2 player.

I beat seth with Guile this time in only like 6 tries lol.

Instead of going for combos (and I cant do any with Guile, timing in combos in SF4 is much more strict than any other SF game I have played) I just had to play old school SF2 style with special movies and trying to counter his moves with a correct attack. Also focus attacks did help some but they can back fire on you.

I dont know whats up with the combo system, I can pull off comboes with Ryu after practice, just simple ones like Jump in w/ Kick, crouching kick, fireball and that simple combo required perfect timing or the attack wont go off.

Now with Guile trying to do the same thing but into a flash kick just is not working.

Thats ok though, I guess it means you will be able to see a clear distinction of good players vs bad/new players as they will have mastered the system. that means I am gonna get owned when I get online with it tomorrow :p

Yeah for sure, thats the main reason I got the game for online play. I never have company to do in person multi player. Im not the biggest SF4 fan, infact I feel its inferior to MvC2, Smash Bros, TvC and a few others but if I can get online matches it makes it worth it.

If I really wanted to win I would use a controller, I am remarkably better with a controller than a joystick, I never miss a direction or button but with the joystick I mess up often. Makes me wonder why all the "pros" use joysticks, I guess given enough time you can get as good with it or better.

I have a habit of completely losing the joystick out of my hand if I get too caught up in a fight, thats not good for winning :p

I totally agree, before trying to use my Xbox 360 controller I thought it would work fine for this game. The fact is, you might as well play blind folded with one finger if you decide to use that controller. The dpad is about as stiff as wood and about as intuitive as a goldfish.

I would go for a PS2 controller or one of those over priced ripp off SF2 controllers.

I believe you need to unlock all characters cept for gouken and need to win with a couple of perfects and a couple of super finish moves and finish the game.
Been some time for me here played it on ps3, you should check www.gamefaqs.com

I'm in Canada and i don't think the fightpad bundle is being released here (Can't order online, dont have a credit card yet lol). Any suggestions of what controllers i should look for? I might just get the fightpad but its mad expensive $50... and the game might be around $40...

:/ Steam says apx 8 hours until the game is unlocked, thats NOON my time, thats half way into the day :(

They should do midnight central, at this rate I can get off work, go get it from walmart and have it way before steam lets me have it when its all digital.

Oh well, guess I have to deal, save that 10% and I prefer digital copy over disk.

I'm almost using the same controller. Mine is probably a tad older though and it doesn't have whatever button that is under the 'start' button. Leagues better than the 360 pad, but still feels too "floaty"...I don't know how else to describe it.

If only I could take the SNES d-pad and put it on the 360 controller... :D

Edit - Oh, and it should work out-of-the-box. At least mine does. Have to hit Escape to pause it though. I'm lazy.

OMFG, I can't believe Capcom put such a boss like Seth. His moves are so overpowered and what with the constant teleport. I'm seriously annoyed with this.

At least, I can still unlock characters in "Easiest mode" so I didn't waste my money on this game.
Do you think this might be some kind of partnership between Capcom and some game controller makers I think. Frustrated gamers -> broken controllers -> sale of new controllers. =))
