Street Fighter 4 Coming July 1

He has the tendency to be really cheap but like all cpu opponents its just a matter of finding his weakness. When I tried to fight him like I would a human with jump attacks and combos I got owned.

When I went defensive/poke style I beat in in just a few tries.

I suppose different characters would have it easier/harder though and there is luck involved. Dodging his ultra is important and most of all its just making him not fully connect with his EX moves, they do almost as much damage as his ultra and he spams them like crazy on the 2nd round.

Just imagine the satisfaction involved in finishing him off with Akuma and the raging demon move my favorite move in all of street fighter history.

Hes cheap but i find him quite easy now. i own this on 360 and EVERYONE flammed how rediculous he is. when my pc copy comes throught the post on the pc im planning on owning people. but i guess the cheaters and hackers will obviously be in the high ranks

 

Just hope they have a good anti-cheat system. Seems that Steam has like no cheaters. I dont think I have ever come across one.

I got SF4 off steam, but not sure if it will use the traditional VAC stuff that I am used to seeing maybe thats a valve game thing.

 

seriously man i can't play this til after 6 how lame..work =/ whats also a bit good by buying games off steam is no tax or anthing 35.99 is 35.99 not 35.99 + tax. save yourself a little over 3 bucks!

 

so i'm testing out the benchmark for SF4 the best i get with default settings is at res 1280 x 720 during fighting its 30fps average. my video card is not OC either. everything on laptop is at stock settings. i want a better video card now or even buy a new laptop with better gfx just for this game ;]

 

Does anyone know how to do Bison special moves? I followed the command list but nothing happened?

 

why dont any stores in the USA carry this game? everyone like bestbuy gamestop, ebgames says the game wont ever be in stock because they didnt get any pre-orders and they are phasing out support for pc games.... never had this issue....i guess my best bet is steam

ok i hope it runs perfect on my laptop in my sig without any crossfire issues or anything....i will be playing it on my 1080p(1920x1080) 42" hdtv..so i hope my laptop will handle this

 

Easily, I get everything maxed out, 1200p and 2x AA with my 88m SLI.

 

I had it all maxed out on my desktop with a 3.6ghz quad and 2x 4850's and got like 160fps in the bench but in the real game there are some stages that induce slowdown.

Max AA, Max AF, Max Shadows, Max Glow, Max Detail. There is a lot to max out on this game.

I turned down the AA and the Shadows and have not had any issues.

Have not played online at all, just got done decrypting the game but gotta cook lunch for the kids then go to work for a mandatory meeting. So I wont get to play until tomorrow almost 24 hours from now as I am just going to get a room at a hotel and not come home.

I could play via wifi on my laptop but that would not be too fun.

 

just picked it up off of steam. Hope its good like the original SF2 games.

ya, I actually got up early on the 7th to pick it up at gamestop, i asked, told me its not coming out for PC. I was like wha? den went to wal-mart, bestbuy, den mall eb/gamestop, samething. So i said fuk it, steam will have to do.

Don't usually like to install games digitally. I want my copy in a disk in some sort of physical form. =( But as for the game online, Im a bit dissappointed.

I thought for sure PC online would be superior over the ps3 and 360 but man it stutters sometime. My laptop can run with ease, with some settings down at 50-60fps but I hate it when that stutters cuz of lag. It does it once every like 1min in half, does that happen to anyone else?

 

I still have not played online, I took a peak of it tonight on my laptop to see what kind of modes it has (hoping to find a way to host a lobby so we can create NBR lobbies for forum matches, but I didnt see anything like that.

I did read somewhere that make sure you set frame rate to fixed and not variable for online play to eliminate lag. Maybe you should give that a shot.

I assume it also will have a lot to do with your and your opponents connection, at least the system lets you browse for somebody manually with a good connection.

Basically tell everybody you know to set the game to fixed frame rate, also hope Capcom patches the game to force it online.

 

hey anyone know how to turn off the CHALLENGED ACCEPTING mode when i'm playnig arcade? its kinda hard to unlock char when i keep getting challenged i messed up by approving it.

like u know on the ps3? the o(3) is enter instead of x(2) , thats how your setup is. the us version is other way around x(2) is enter and o(3) means back. and start button is on the right side (10) and select or back is on the left side (9) all your setup was backwards but i got it to be my way thanks.

got home and got to play, and I love it!

the find game thing sucks, maybe time of day but I find almost nobody with any bars and 90% of the games I join or more say "can not connect to game" or something like that and then kicks me back to search all over again.

However I decided to just go play arcade mode and I have people challenge me every 2 seconds and seems the connections with those people are really good.

I dont trust the latency meter I manually joined a game where they had all green but just 1 bar and we lagged like crazy, but I just did like 25 games with one guy in a row and he had just 1 red bar and we had no lag at all.

Also I did not know the microphone is on in this game, my mic was plugged in for left 4 dead and they could hear me, so I had to put my headphones on because my speakers were making reverb. But it was nice to talk while playing as I found a mature player.

Though I hope you can turn it off if you get some annoying person on the other side.

 

Press right control key to move over to your player options from the main menu and turn off the challenge mode stuff.

Im going to see if I can quit for the day, I am losing all my sleep but its a lot of fun. Have not had any more laggy matches and I think the reason I couldnt connect to games was lack of people online this morning and also I had a windows firewall que up behind the game asking me to let the game through.

I have had lots of good players today go against me I maintained about a 66% win ratio making me feel I am a natural, But then I ran into a guy that is a pro, has one of the TE sticks, played in the arcade, and hangs out with the shoyruken forums, and maybe goes to tournaments.

I just barley managed to beat him one round out of 6 matches, he countered like everything perfectly and he is really good with dalasilm.

 

yEAH i played about 20 matches last night and only lost 3 in the Pro mode level. I like how this game holds true to the original SF2 in many ways. The Ultra and super combos are a bit too easy and overpowered, which makes winning the second round fairly easy if you are charged. Overall the game is as good as Tekken 2 + 3, which are probably some of the best fighter games of all-time.

 

i like tekken games but sf is just the best fighting game ever made!

 

So whats up with ranked matches and championship mode? They are both ranked type fights with probably better players, so why two modes that do the same kind of thing?

I'll stay out of those for a while yet, I still need to get good with a joystick, and then learn the game. From there I am up for trying some harder fights.

 

gosh damn, the local eb games keeps pushing it back. Sucks since i cant get it until the 20th then, since im outta town from 11-18 and they pushed it to July 13th from july 8th

its actually quite nice to have a digital copy.

I was able to just download it and install it on both my laptop and desktop, and it holds your key for you. Also if you gave often having it on steam means your steam friends can tell when your on.

 

oh yeah i have a BIG question i always wanted to know but never found out...how do i do the moves that needs the Z movement ? how is that executed? thanks.

Took a bit of practice but I can pull it off almost every time now if I am not under a lot of pressure in just 1 day and I never was good with a joystick.

Would be the same with a d-pad just sweep your thumb instead.

I also already unlocked all the characters/colors/taunts. I found a easy way to do it via Zangief.

For unlocking chars set difficulty to easy and 1 round, and make sure you turn off open challenges.

i just need seth took a little break awhile ago, need to beat the game with 12 more chars. thats a lot i know..and i'm doing the easy 1 round 30 secs .

 

Really didn't like using Abel I just plain out suck with him! hell had a hard time beating seth on easiest lol

 

Looks like all the unlocks and stuff are client side, so im sure if you wanted to save yourself the time unlocking chars which is boring and tedious you can find a save game file or something along those lines.

Unlocking the chars is not a reward in skill or anything its just a matter of taking the time to do it.

I have Seth, and he sucks IMO, I only used him once but his vitality is the lowest in the game and his moves dont seem to work the same as when you fight him, like his EX uppercut only hits 1 time instead of 6ish.

Also I did his ultra and the damage was laughable. I guess he is a godd keep away character though, so if you play that kind of game he could be a decent pick. But I feel that its cheap/unfair/boring to play keep away. I like to get in your face and then break it.

Now the question is, and I can test this now, if you unlock on one PC does it go to the next via your online account? I did all the unlocks on my desktop, so gonna go start up SF4 now on my laptop and see if I have the guys.

Edit: Yep all characters are client side and computer specific, I have none of my guys on my laptop, also even your user titles and icons are client side and computer specific it seems. Your rank/battle points and stuff though seem server side and tied to your live ID.

 

Im having my copy soon. i ordered mine on ebay. was sent monday so im hoping to be playin it by weekend. windows live means i can play with my xbox tag.

I can achieve an A with settings high and no v-sync with reso 1368?x736?
and B with v-sync on 1368?x736? resolution and high sttings or was it 1280x720??? either way the frames whilst watching was 55-60 with the quadro drivers to my 770m which is same as 9600m GT

 

man i saw the price for it on ebay and it was cheapp but i couldn't wait for the shipping =/ oh well. i want to get all the chars just to have not to be able to play seth but i've also never played seth before so yeah it would be interesting.

I got owned up again today.

Started some of the challenge mode trails.

Did all 5 of the normal ones with Guile, and I am stuck on his 3rd hard one now. These trials are crazy hard.

My finger hurts and I almost have a blister.

I went to go take a break and got online and ran into another really good player that I stood no chance against. I coulnt block any of his attacks, he had lots of combos, and he blocked/countered all my moves.

He even managed to get a perfect on me

You pull off akumas ultra/super really easy. Its so hard for me to do on my joystick.

I used to be pro at it on MVC2 on my dreamcast though.

You can exploit the AI like you did with the fireballs and make him easy but if you try to fight him like you would a person you will get owned.

Also to me seems like he was easier not harder, maybe because you did some kind of regular match instead of arcade mode final boss?

 

Man i had same thing only i did purchase cos he had it in stock. he sent it 2nd class recorded delivery. i didnt want to pay much more so i never added on the shipping fee fo rit quicker and its takling long. he sahe sent it monday. its like doing my head in lol. i could play this on the xbox. but im not always on it. plus ive always wanted to play this on my laptop even if this was street fighter 3 lol.

I will go home today after work and hope it arrived and hope it arrived or ill be upset.

Man you play pretty good for a keyboard! I wouldnt be half as good.

I gotta figure out an easy way for us to find each other online for games. The only way I can think of is to share your windows live ID, meet up on the forums to say when you will be on and then host a private game.

 

akuma's super is reallly ez to do on the consoles i did it like nothing on ps3 and 360 and now that i have controller for the PC its ez too i've used the keyboard probably once in the game and it was a mere second.

 

Finally on the last trial for Guile Hard #5 and I got so close like 3 times pulled the whole combo off and the last hit didnt connect.

Im giving up the rest of the day my hand hurts and im irritated.

Its masochist to do these trials, but they are addicting.

 

Lol mainly cause i used to play alot of streetfighteronline when i was younger with my keyboard, and i have Marvel vs Capcom 2 on my computer, but i can't talk about how i can play that here so i'll just leave it at that lol
