Yea, I have. And it sort of bugs me. However, as far as I know, it isn't anything huge. I understand it to be something to sort of optimize some DX10 techniques, but nothing like a jump from DX9 to DX10.

It bugs me because I think it is stupid that MS is going to be releasing incremental updates. They should have at least made it so you could flash a DX 10 card to 10.1 or something like that, instead of changing the stuff all the time. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Kind of makes me mad, as DX10 isn't really utilized a lot yet, and now this new revision is coming. Oh well.....

that was a fantastic review! i agree with a few other posters in that it was a lot more relaxing and far less uppity than a lot of other "professional" reviews i have read recently. i'm getting sick of the professional critic community with their arrogant views. i say your next review should be of halo 3, as you seem to be a fan of the series. it's always great to read how the fans feel about the last installment in the halo saga.

hey guys I just recently got an issue after the october patch for TF2 and Portal I believe... I start to get issues trying to launch orange pack games.

I'm running Vista Home Premium and my specs are posted on my siggy.

Whenever I try to run an orange pack game it will say "HL2.exe has just crashed". The only orange pack game that has survived so far (ironically) is HL2 original. Which really confuses me cause if HL2 can run fine why is it crashing?

    I've tried:
    1) Checking cache intergrity
    2) Deleting local game contents (redling the game files)
    3) steam forums and followed their instructions on various trouble shooting techniques
    4) Updated my laptop to use latest video card drivers

It's not working.... I need help. Anyone got any ideas?

    I have a special question:

Will this Orange Box stuff run smoothly on a nvidia quadro nvs 135m? I know this card is something like a geforce 8400m gs ... but what can i expect? Do i have to turn down the quality or can i play it with all features put on high quality at 1440x900?

    Thanks fo an answer!

    Greetings from germany

    Krmlmnstr

    What i forgot:

    i have a Dell Latitude D630 with XP on it a T7500 2 GB of RAM and a 135m graphic solution :)

Yeah i am playing the Orange box and other source engine games with a 3yrs old Mobility Radeon 9700 @ native 1024x768 with most settings on high/very high but no shadows. And I get 30-60 fps :D

    Maybe perhaps low(2x)/no AA
