noxxle99, my FRAPS report FPS at Civ4: when zoom all way out to be around 11-16 FPS. Try lowering some graphic qualities or make the world smaller and things should go fine. CPU is one thing that should also be look at.

Is that at the start of a game? If you are only getting that at the beginning, mid-late u will probably get less than 10 when there is lots of stuff on the map.

Yea, in the late 1800s I get around 9-13 ish FPS, but why zoom all the way out? Unless for the view. :p

If you are running FRAPS while playing, turn it off. It might help a lot in actual gameplay.

Hey i just got my new laptop and i downloaded new 15.4 vista drivers for my intel gma x3100, i got the Vista home edition 32-bit vista download and extracted the stuff to a folder i made in my documents called 'Vista graphics drivers' andd put it all in their. I opened up setup and start to do it an i get an error saying something simular to:

The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. please obtain the appropiate drivers from this computers manufactor.

    Setup will now exit

Maybe it is because i have old drivers installed?

if it is how do i uninstall my old drivers or can somebody give me a link to where to dowenload the latest drivers for windows vista x3100 card.

Thanks and marry christmas, i hope u can help

First of all, 15.4 is NOT new. 15.7 is. Try uninstalling the driver from your add/remove program menu in the control panel first.

im having and issue running BF2. It begins to run and then the screen flashes and backs out back to the desktop. I've tried in compatability mode as well and it is not working. I'm not sure what the issue is.

    My specs:

    T7100
    2gb ram
    vista ultimate

    EDIT: got it working

Is there a link to help me adjust the amount of video memory? Or if someone can tell me how. My first IGP and I'm not familiar with it yet. How can I change it from 128mb to say 200 or more?

What kind of laptop is it specifically?

And Torndevil, I don't believe that would help because if you click "run," all it does it download it to your computer into a temp folder. It still downloads it to the computer. The error is something else.

Currently I'm using 15.6.6 version of the driver because the 15.7 driver seems to cause a crash when launching a game, does anyone else experiment this kind of problems?

Sort of a shot in the dark, but possibly this may have something to do with your issue? It seems unlikely because a)It's for the HDD, not for the x3100, and b) I doubt you selected an incompatible language. Besides, that has to be selected when you install Windows, making it even less likely.

Other than that, I haven't found anything to help. Sorry. If it can't be resolved, and if older/newer (when released) drivers do not work, I'd probably try to get your laptop exchanged.

Hi has anyone here tried playing Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 with the "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100"?

Do you think there will be any problems?
What is the latest or best driver for this game on X3100?

    Thanks in advance.

Wax do you know how to alter the amount of memory used for the gma? I was curious is I was able to add more memory usage to it during gameplay if that would help increase framerates?

I never had any igp-based systems, so i can't tell you for sure, but generally you set the memory available for the igp in the BIOS. As for the ammount necesarry, 128 MB would be fine. Anything over that would be useless because the chip simply can't use that much.

If I have Vista, but have not installed any drivers does that lower performance? What do the drivers do? Also, what amount of the X3100 is dedicated to gaming? Can I increase that amount, if so how?

Sorry for the many questions, I am new at laptops and graphics cards and such.

What is with these 'almost-english' posts concerning the x3100? I've noticed in this forum and several others that reading half of the posts about the x3100 requires a translator.

If I remember correctly, the X3100 will automatically allocate itself the memory that it needs on the fly without user intervention. You can check in your BIOS settings though, that would be the only location where you could cap the maximum amount.

Awesome! Out of curiosity, what was the issue?

I'm actually surprised at how well it can handle some games like ut2k4. Runs with half decent FPS in 1200x800. 20-40 is Ave with most settings at normal to high. Overall I'm impressed as it is not a gaming processor.

uh... seems like x3100 on my laptop is somehow retarded... still low fps in nfsu... (i noticed that on drivers 14.31 nfsu had from 12 to 30 fps (in game)...it seems, it was somehow limited (never more than 30). but with 14.31.1 it is from 6 to 46fps (!) but in avg it is worse with newer drivers...)

Jewperman-Drivers are like a translator for a device. With a graphics driver, its a software that interfaces the graphics processor with the OS and such. Having a proper driver is critical, as with a poor driver, some of the hardware might not be recognized, therefore performing low, or having compatibility issues.

The amount of memory used by the X3100 can be up to 384MB. Intel calls this Dynamic Video Memory Technology. You don't really control it, its up to the graphics driver to do the job. It was originally created so the loss of using system memory for graphics isn't bad as it sounds. When it runs a non-3D application, it only uses 8-32MB(depending on configuration/OS/BIOS).

    1. Right click on desktop
    2. Go to Graphics properties
    3. Press Information Button

It should then show you bunch of information about the graphics processor. Intel uses two naming methodology for the graphics driver, though. Your vendor should have the drivers for the graphics, but they are usually not up to date as Intel's site. I have a custom built PC so I don't know the specifics, but some people here may know how to properly install the Intel drivers(even though its a similar driver, some doesn't work for retailer made PCs).

Heres some Call Of Duty 4 screens from my X3100 Experience (Specs In Sig)
Runs pretty good, Avg Around 10-25, though the X3100 doesn't seem to like Smoke & Snow very much like someone said before, Still tryin to figure out if i can disable that, If i can than the game should run alot better. Also can't seem to get into a Single Player Game, it crashes when loading the level.

    Settings:

    1024x768
Mixed Setting (Mostly Low, & some Medium & High)

    My Tweaked Config MP:

NOTE: ^^ If you have a Core 2 Duo & you use this config file you should be gettin some awesome FPS.

    Screens:

You actually get COD4 to run on a Pentium Dual Core notebook? Wow, COD4 wasn't that demanding as I first thought. I run it on Core 2 Dual T7100 (1.8GHz), 2 GB DDR2 Ram, X3100, and sure as hell it runs pretty smooth. 15-30 FPS.

Damn nice. On my system, I only have the single player Demo so I can't test it out because it crashes. I have to use Safe Mode, which looks bad. I heard with the 14.32 driver in XP it has texture rendering problems, and I can confirm it running on Safe Mode. 14.31.1 doesn't, maybe I'll try it out.

Well, maybe CoD4 really shows what the X3000/X3100 can do. Since its running on hardware, your CPU shouldn't affect performance much.

EDIT: With 14.31.1 driver and on the Safe Mode, I get 8-12 fps on the first part of the demo.
EDIT2: Okay I guess I don't need it to run with Safe Mode. I just need to keep the resolution below 1024x768. It runs fine on 800x600.

    You can go here: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2576

Just select your Operating System. You may need to uninstall your current driver first.

Are you running the game on XP or Vista? For me, with the latest drivers, the game is completely unplayable (1-3 FPS average) using XP. On Vista, it's more playable, but still not fantastic (12-30 FPS outdoors).

Hello just wondering if anybody could help me out: =)

    What I would like:
To play Oblivion as smoothly as possible.

    My Comp:
    A Toshiba TruBrite Widescreen A205S5804

    My Specs:
    1.6Gb Memory
    120Gb Hard Drive
    Intel Pentium Dual Core T2330
    Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100

    Preferance:
Medium Graphics (hopefully). Will Settle for low/med. graphics

Seiroulsly, I'll upgrade to 2Gb Memory and 180+ hardrive if I have to,(will have to save up money though). Low Graphics would just ruin the experience for me. =( This will be my only game for my laptop cause i know no other game will satisfy my gaming needs.

    Thank you for listening! =))

And by the way, please fill me in on any suggestions on how to tweak Oblivion's settings to the best of my computer's ability with what I already got, and what mods would be the best to get if they can run.

    Much Appreciated
