I used the forced AA (thx for the post Silencejar), and i agree with Vicious, WoW did much more with what they had. The environments in WAR just seem very bland. I'm gonna give it the 30 days, because i do enjoy the PvP.
-
played the game so far for a few hours and loving it, the rvr is awesome. Playing a bright wizard
-
I have learned to really hate bright wizards.....way over-powered
Maybe I should try playing one on another server.....
-
What's the general consensus so far, good? It's still early on, but just curious.
-
I have a 22 Rune Priest and so far I'm really enjoying the game.
Most of the time I run around queuing for RvR scenarios while I quest.
With going in and out of scenarios, public quests and the usual MMO fare, I really haven't had a chance to be bored yet.
I like the graphic style personally. WoW was always a little cartoony for my taste.
There are still some technical issues (slowdowns in RvR, etc), but it isn't horrible. Considering the game was released only a week ago, I think it's in great shape. Looking forward to seeing what Mythic can do in the coming months. -
For people that are playing on XPS 1330s, how do you get higher fps at 15?
I tried installing XP, and I still get around 10-15 fps, mostly around 9-10. It's very laggy and unplayable. Scenarios are next to impossible.
My specs are: T7500, 3GB, 8400M GS, Windows XP, latest drivers (177.98).
Any tips?
Thanks -
^ with 8400m GS is not likely to do better...you can try over-clock it with Riva at your own risk.

I played WoW for about 2 years and quit before the Burning Crusade came out. Now I play on a private server for fun. This game sorta looks like a polished version of WoW to me, and I don't think I want to spend hours upon hours leveling, raiding to get great gear, pvping to get great gear. Takes too long and costs money and eventually becomes frustrating, annoying, and almost a part-time job.
I do get frustrated playing on private servers, but that's because I get angry at everything
Also, WOTLK comes out in November, so lets see how that fights with all of this WAR hype. -
(note this is tier 1)
You don't have to kill BW... just live until they kill themselves.
The damage melee do more damage and are quite tough, they just can't do it from range.
As a black orc, I didn't really care about BW... I knew I'd get to them long before they even dented my HP as long as I didn't let them keep LOS the whole way.
A tank + healer made VERY short work of a Healer + wizard (sorc or bw) or any combination. -
I'm going to pick up this game and give it a try, possibly tonight after work.
I also play WoW and want to finish leveling characters on my linked account before the expansion hits.
God, the agony.
But, I really want to try out this game, I have heard far more positive things about it than negative things.
While I can understand the bland art theme for one reason, it looks like they are intentionally doing that so they can give a wider amount of users more stability as far as graphics go while they iron out the kinks. In the future, more patches might have new content that show better art and work as the WAR devs gather data and find out what works best for everyone. I do hear what you're saying.
I noticed a large difference in the art in WoW when it went from vanilla WoW to BC, that was a huge friggin difference.
I haven't seen much of WOTLK yet but I have a friend who is in beta and I only looked at it for a short time. It doesn't look bad, but I have heard it being nicknamed as Wrath of the Glitch King, I heard they still haven't ironed out all the bugs. Maybe it's being rushed slightly? -
I know this is off-topic a bit, but I always have to chuckle at "the grind" in WoW.
Levelling in WoW is almost automatic.
It is so fast I seriously wonder why they don't just start you at max level with suitable equipment and retune the quests for gold.
The whole point of a levelling curve is to teach you to play... and WoW does a horrible job of it as max-level newbies are the norm.
Max level characters are two-week investments with more concentrated play and maybe 6 weeks with casual play. Even the equipment grind is apparently gone as "welfare epics" are on every toon who can stand a little PvP.
WoW isn't like Everquest or Lineage2 where beginning end-game level characters are 6months to 2 years worth of playing. While I think that is excessive, it does produce better players and a better game IMHO.
Getting everything you want too fast is not always good. -
So far its pretty fun being a Shadow Warrior (Ranger), except for getting pwned in close combat
. And its awesome being able to sign up for Scenario RvR while doing quests and leveling up.
Although I think they could elaborate on some of the quests a little better, the waypoint is wide sometimes. -

Which game is better, Age of Conan or WAR? WAR is starting to look pretty good, especially with the lack of people in Age of Conan. BTW, if anyone has a buddy key that they want to give me, just PM me
.

day 2 of war, and im bored. The world isnt as exciting and adventurous as AoC or LOTRO, and very little communication on chat, which makes the game feel lonely. The enviroment is plain, and im just not liking it. The bright wizard spells are very plain, like in AOC, the spells are much bigger, brighter, louder lol. sorry i dont like to bash on any game, just not feeling it this time, could also be because im now a gamer that plays games in short time intervals, like 30 minutes at a time, who knows
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Age of Conan should get a lot better over the next few months, almost like it's going to be a whole new game. Funcom replaced the Producer/Director of AoC to one of the guys that brought Anarchy Online into a good game, and Anarchy Online was horrible at launch. I've heard that a lot of people that tried WAR have hatet it. Seriously guys, WAR is just a copy of WoW and LOTRO that really doesn't do anything different. Plus it just has crappy graphics with some decent effects and really crappy music and sound effects. I think that the real reason that everyone was so excited for WAR is because it's the only decent MMO coming out until next year, or later.
-
im going back to AoC, WAR isnt bad, im just more for PvE
-
Good morning everyone.
I m a bit desperate so hoping to find any help in here. i just bough Alienware m15x few days ago to be able to play Warhammer online on Laptop but so far its really terrible experience for me. Game is hardly running for me on lowest details, computer is crashing like every 30 minutes and I m not enjoying gaming really much. Already sent request for bios update so i hope it will help to stop crashing computer. But do anyone have idea what to do to be able to play game with better FPS? All advices welcomed.
My Laptop configuration:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T8100 @ 2.10GHz
4GB memory
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
ST9120823ASG 120 Gb
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
Thank you for any help. -
I'm going to get my copy and give it a chance, from all I have read, it has too much going for it. I think the one thing I appreciate more about it is that it isn't all about gear, it's about actual teamplay, which is something I appreciate after playing WoW's PvP system too much for the last few years.
PvP on WoW is based more on gear than skill. Skill DOES win sometimes, but a majority of the time, somebody can vastly outgear you can be totally crappy but still win because of the gear advantage. Simply put, the more time you can spend raiding/pvping/arening, the better you'll be geared and the more you're able to beat other players and overcome disadvantages you have due to class differences.
I think WoW's pvp system isn't truely balanced, but it isn't totally unbalanced either. It just favors people with gear pretty disproportionately.
I'm willing to try a MMORPG based on the premise of teamplay for that reason alone. The better I work with others and the better others work with me, the more often we will win, which is how it should be.
Think of it like in sports, there is no such thing as better gear in football/basketball, there's just better talent on the teams. The teams with better talent and better sense of teamwork win more often than teams with less talent and less cohesion, which is how it should be.
I'll see for myself how this game pans out this weekend. I don't plan on installing it untill my friend buys a copy so we can play together. I do like the idea of large scale battles. Alterac Valley used to be pretty epic, with fights that would last for days at a time. I remember those days and I really enjoyed the fights there. Now they turned it into a PvE fest just so that people could gain honor faster.
There's really no incentive to PvP in WoW other than to grind gear just so you can beat others.
Once you do get said gear, there's little challenge to the rest of the game if you're good enough.
RvR sounds really promising. I don't really expect them to have all the kinks worked out, but since I have heard it is the most stable MMO launch ever, I think it deserves the benefit of the doubt, which I'll give it.
Thanks for reading this long post. I do like PvE like the OCGod does, but I also enjoy PvP, and I do like the fact that you are NOT forced to PvE to level or to even be good at the game. -

Although I really like PSU after Sega banned my account for reason I do not even know.
Actually the really F'ed up part is that I quit playing a long time ago and I resubscribed about 8 or 10 months back and they let me activate my account and everything. I was never banned in the game. Then when I went to log on I kept getting strange error codes. Finally somebody told me the code meant I was banned. So Sega took my $15 or what ever it was, let me activate my account, and yet I was banned? So I swore I would never play again.
I tried to hash it out with Sega to find out what was going on and after 2 weeks I was not able to get ahold of anybody. They had no phone number or email for support only a forum that you post questions in. Magically every time I posted a question about my account it was deleted. Dang now I am mad again... Sega really worked me over.
So that only leaves FFXI -
that have PSU for the pc? I loved the game on dreamcast
-
Yeah, there is almost no chat on WAR that i've seen. I'm gonna RvR for the remaining 30days, but honestly I don's see myself playing past that. Just have to take a hit on the $50 discs, wish i joined beta lol.
Don't go back to FFXI! I've stayed away for a year+ strong now. Plus it's in the clearance bin at Walmart! But it was an awesome game, really had a blast until ToAU came out. -
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
PSU is the newest and goes up to Episode 4, still the same at the heart but better graphics and some different things here and there.
I love how the game is very pick up and play (all of the PSO games) you can join a game at any time and leave at any time unlike the other MMO's where you have to worry about forming a group and a long crawl thru a dungion.
Also I liiked playing with JP players.
PSU is worth getting just for the 1 player, go thru that first its a great game, then if you liked it you can go online for more.
FFXI is the opposite, I think I spent more time getting from A to B and forming parties in FFXI than any other game, even 40 man raids formed faster in WoW than I could find a party while sitting in jeuno with my LFP flag on hours at a time
That said as much as I really liked the game its quite clear I do not have the time to play it, and going AFK in FFXI is bad news with the death penalty.
I really did like PSO & PSU I think overall they were my fav MMO's of all time as every factor in the game from the pick up and play, to the gameplay, graphics, jp feel ect just was perfect. Shame tho Sega really messed it up for me. -
My opinion of Warhammer is a good one. I have played in CB,OB, both preview weekends and head start. I have enjoyed pretty much every aspect of the game. This game keeps getting better for me as I go along. I have not played my currect character, Disciple of Khaine, very much because my time is limited. I am almost done with tier one. There are so many things to do in War from the very start. Every other mmorpg I have played requires you to level first off "kill 10 mobs" quests. Then maybe after alot of these you can start doing some other things.
Frome the very get-go you can do alot more in War. You can join scenarios, instanced pvp, that are a blast. There are 20 or so spread throughout the tiers. You can lvl and gain renown points all through these. You can even start at level one and be somewhat effective. The bolster buff will increase your lvl upto a suitable lvl to compete. You will still lack skills of higher players, but you are still useful.
Public Quests are great and very innovative. Get with some friends, bang some mobs, and get some good loot. Finding friends in this game is easy. The party system is very easy to use and find people.
The storyline in general is great. It breaks it down into chapters. There are tons of things that are packed into these chapters, and if you are into Warhammer lore it makes it even better.
The world is great how it is structured. It breaks it down into different zones, but you can still run from one zone to the next if you wish. The world is huge!
The game seems to have sopmething for everyone.
I'll address some comments that were mentioned in this thread. The community for Warhammer is already out there. There are several fansites that have loyalists spanning back to 1yr/2yr's ago that have followed War. Just join a forum and start meeting people.
Comparing War to Quake? I'm totally clueless is to why you think an mmorpg is like an FPS. I don't see where you can make the comparison.
Balancing in pvp gets better as the game progresses. You need to play this game to tier 4 to get everything out of it. Classes in War are set-up like other mmo's, but also are very different. Each class can do more then just its specified archtype. Healers can actually do damage and kill people, and this actually increases their healing power. Tanks are useful in this game! Each class has different ways you can spec them to increase what you want. Say you want a tank that does mroe dmg then defense. There is a career path to follow.
The graphics are good, not great. I don't need some fancy high falutin game graphics if the gameplay is actually good, and War's gameplay is good.
Alot of guilds/allies from other mmo's came to play War. There are plenty of people to get to know and join one of these guilds if you get bored soloing. This game promotes you do so for the aspect of the big keep and fortress sieges.
With any launch of any mmo there are going to be some bugs/set-backs. Warhammer has them, but in War you actuallt know someone is looking out for your best interest. Mark Jacobs the CEO of Mythic frequents community boards giving updates on the progressions of the game. His staff do the same. I have not seen any other leader do this for an mmo community. Mark goes above and beyond the call of duty in this aspect. He also is openly banning gold sellers. Mythic has banned 4k+ accounts already because of this and the game isn't more then 2 weeks old yet.
There are certain things I think War is lacking on, but the things they have done well is far greater then the minor stuff. Warhammer is a good/great game and has something for everyone. Not everyone will like it, but it will be played by many for years to come. -

"Go kill racial enemy, don't ask why, just kill."
The entirety of the background that I found through playing in all of tier 1 was the cutscene it plays when you first bring up the game.
You are just another guy with a sword killing endlessly and mindlessly.
Sure, this can be fun... but you have no stake in it. Death means you almost require 3 steps to get back in combat.
Kill, die, respawn, kill die respawn. This is why it feels like quake to me.
In Everquest, players grew up in a world full of history and intrigue... you began as a neophyte barely able to cast the simplest of tricks or a young sword with nothing but a rusty weapon at your command and rose to challenge the gods themselves.
People banded together as the world was tough and death while not permanent was horrible. (and woodelves rained from the sky dying in droves and were like falling presents to be eaten at leisure by my troll shadowknight)
In Lineage2 huge towers rise to mark the rise and fall of empires... even the lowest newbie can see they are a part of something much larger than themselves and a world full of centuries of stories of great heroes and horrible villains. (note in L2 the "hero" or "villain" depends on the viewpoint.) Ruins dot the countryside and adventure awaits anyone who can survive long enough! Death hurts and thus people are glad and usually grateful when you can save their backside. Players band together for survival and for advancement out of necessity... I PvE for advancment and PvP to advance whatever cause my character has joined. I fight for friends, glory and bragging rights... People recognize players by name and certain ones really do instill terror or rally you to their cause. Level 81 (not even max) players stand out as powerhouses and even a level 7x (10-15 levels from max) can really make a difference. Alliances build, have dynasties, and crumble and you can see it happening and in my case can remember the first names of the players you were with when it happened.
Even in WoW, the storyline outlines the war between the two factions as something of a sad (but hello-kitty) story.
The bad guys and good guys are hard to tell and the ruins of past battles are often a sad testimony of the previous ranks of fallen warriors. You are part of this world and its story... There is history, background, and a wealth of signs of historic happenings even in the newbie zones. Players uncover little side-stories as they quest and sometimes you learn of people long dead who lived and died bravely...
Warhammer lacks story written into the quests... I found myself in public quests helping out thinking "I must have missed something" because I didn't know why I was fighting except the "public quest" indicator and the promise of reward. I didn't care when the npc died in the public quests unless the indicator said they had to live. I killed who the quest said I should but other than being obviously the other faction, I didn't know why. When i asked, nobody else did either. While I met some nice people they seemed as confused as I about why we were doing it and the vast majority didn't care.
When I started I started with the concept that this was a big battle and I was going to help out as best as possible. When I finished playing for the night the game had eroded to "making bars move". While this is expected in these games to some degree, I found myself not caring about the world or company I had been involved in.
In Everquest and Lineage2, the people I was with determined everything. The world I was part of and the wonder it inspired made me lose myself in the game. Warhammer reminds me more of Quake because I couldn't say I'd miss either even if I were never to play again. Warhammer did have positives and negatives, but it felt more like quake than an MMORPG to me for these reasons. -
well, I like WAR, I installed it on both my desktop and laptop and I played it till nearly 5 a.m. even though I had a 10 a.m. networking class to attend to and had to be up at 8:30 to shower/dress/eat and get out the door at 9:10.
Well, it's pretty impressive so far, the graphics aren't the best thing since sliced bread, but I can appreciate how it looks, it doesn't look terrible.
Gameplay wise, it feels like Guild Wars, it really does, only done better.
Trust me, I have WoW and all the Guild Wars titles, so I know what I'm talking about. It has elements of both games in it, anyone who's played either extensively probably knows what i'm talking about. -
sorry, double post, accidentally hit enter twice

Googled War lore
Warhammer has more history then any other mmo. It's got 25+ years of lore. Warcraft got the idea of orc's vs humans from Warhammer. If you can't feel the history in this game then I can't force you to. I feel it and like it, and to each his own.
I couldn't get into WoW, i played OB. I love blizzard; Warcraft was my one of my first gaming experiences playing over a 28.8k modem against friends. I loved all of diablo! I love blizzard, but did not like WoW.
Never played EQ.
Let's talk about your beloved game Lineage 2. I know this game oh so well. I got no beef with this game and have forged eternal online friends from it. With that said I can sit back and say that L2 is flawed. There are a number of reasons why. L2 lore is nothing compared to Warhammer lore. I loved lineage 2 and i played it from prelude to interlude. I did some really awesome things in that game, but if you donnot have time to devote to l2 you will not accomplish anything. That is its major flaw.
Warhammer you can contribute through casual gameplay, and accomplish things from the moment you login. L2 you cannot.
With some of the new changes in the recent update to l2 i was tempted to back, but i can no longer give every ounce of my soul to play a game any more. I get a real job now and a needy GF; Warhammer is perfect for me. -
And for someone who is bored after two days of playing??? What the hell did you expect? You can't even be out of t1 yet, well I guess you could but for the first time, I doubt it. You do realize that you can seige entire keeps, with battering rams etc, with huge battlefield tactics. No, you are not going to see that at level 5. Give it some time man, sheesh.
And for the comment about it having no chat, yes, that is a big problem, and that is one as a community we are trying to get the devs to address and add either a zone wide or tier wide chat channel to make it easier to rally troops for RVR combat. MOST of my chat comes from guilds, which in this game are a complete neccesity. Get a guild, you will have no problem with chat. You have to remember, the game is a week old. People are just getting used to their chat interface, getting used to the chat commands, and JUST finding out ( if they even have ), that you can filter out that NPC chat out of your chat window so you can actually read what other PC's are saying.
Only week 1 people. -
well I'm playing on Skull Throne, I really like it.
I'm playing a Dark Elf sorcerer, my character's name is Archmagius.
I won't be on again untill after midnight CST, but I plan to log on him and play some more once I get home.
It looks like a really good game, it's pretty fun to play. I do enjoy the Scenarios and I feel pretty good about the overall experience.
the Khaines Wrath thing is fun.
The funniest thing is that no matter what char I make, if I'm a Dark Elf, I always fall to my death after doing that first Tome of Knowledge quest, because when i turn around to run back, I forget that I am literally on a cliff and when I'm going back towards the road, i fall off the cliff because there is no road just where the cliff ends and where the road begins, just a big empty space.
hahahhha. -
The tome gives all sorts of information but works in a "tell not show" fashion. Every other game I only had to play... this one apparently I have to pre-read the plotline BEFORE I play the game to understand it. Maybe I am too used to DMs and games which have storytellers which show and not tell?
Honestly, would you rather watch a movie and get a shiny exclamation point at the bottom of the screen where you have to look up in your program that "it was a dark and stormy night" or would you rather hear and see a stormy night on the screen?
So there you have it... if you aren't a WarHammer person already, don't buy the game because it will seem soulless.
Another possiblity is if you prefer Quake-level storylines and kill/die/respawn/repeat gameplay...
(it got annoying sometimes, but motivations were never in question)
Oh and I did all of the above without dying even once. (close a couple times, but not quite)
This is fine, but not a flaw for L2.
Worse, you get to page through the "accomplishments" of "melee crit master" (I swung my staff once and killed a lowbie mob with low hp) or "master of surprise attacking" (when I ran my black orc alongside a bridge to avoid LOS while I charged towards some ranged attackers...) Maybe if I managed to do this a few more times than once? I felt annoyed... kinda like the authors of the game thought I needed a "you win" notice every time I did something remotely right.
Oh and I have a hard time believing that 2 days aren't enough to get a decent look at the game to see if you like it.
You like it, he doesn't... maybe you are just better suited to WH, and he is better suited to some other game?
Warhammer is not a bad game... it is just tuned for a different user than someone like me.
Maybe you have to be a warhammer fan to like this game? -
I have to say I am not a Warhammer fan at all and I quite enjoy this game. I've seen parts of sessions of the table top game, and that's not really my thing. I don't know any history at all. I can agree that I do wonder sometimes why I am doing the PQ's, but I haven't read my tome at all as I really haven't had time. I've met lots of great people to talk with not only at PQ's but as well as in the RvR area's. I actually like the fact that there's no "trade channel" so to speak in this game. It would just be something else to turn off (I rarely turn on trade in WoW) so I don't have to listen to the immature rantings and dumb jokes! lol While the graphics aren't as bright as WoW I can see why the world is rather dark. It's not a happy place. There's a war going on. I also feel that in the hour or so I get to play when I get off work I can get more done in WAR. I just feel like I've accomplished more. In WoW I could spend the whole hour trying to get the drops for 1 quest and that's frustrating. I'm guessing that's also why I've been playing almost a year and don't have a 70 to show for it!
-
played the game some more today, and im actually starting to like it. The public quests were fun, and RVR was cool, im only a lvl 7 bright wizard so im going to keep on playing, its much more fun than WoW was for me though, thats for sure
-
This game is about Guilds. You will not enjoy RvR or Scenarios unless you are in an organized group. This game is also not fun until at least tier 2.
-
Glad you gave it another chance HaloGod
I've been playing it a lot this weekend too, the only thing that sucks are the servers have quite a few queues, but that's ok, it's a new game, they still need time to make more servers, it's really popular which is GOOD, which means it won't go the way of AoC or the other online games.
I'm playing on Dark Crag as a sorcerer
Stonecold, lvl 5.
Going to keep working untill i get to at least Tier 2 today.
Hopefully I can accomplish that. -
im a little confused, what decides and allows u to get to the next tier? Also, is it that im doing something wrong or is leveling suppose to take longer than other mmos? Im lvl 7 after 2 days, hope im not slow lol im really looking for a guild too
lvl 7 Bright Wizard
Ironfist -
-
Anyone playing on Ironfist?
Also, when RvR happen in the regular world, is that something everyone can see? or is it insanced? What about people who walk by an RvR but arent flagged for RvR, are they still at risk? -
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
How would you compare WAR to AoC? I've been thinking of quitting AoC for it, there's barely anyone in AoC anymore.
-
after giving it more time, i think its better. The involvement in other people for public quests and RvR makes it really fun, and there are MANY people on which makes it so u never even have to find a party. The graphics arent better, but they arent bad when maxed out. Plus the game is so fun that you dont have time to look at the graphics as much lol. Im not even in tier 2 yet, which is when the game really kicks off, and i like it. If you are gonna get war, join my server and lets guild up
-
I donlt mean to sound harsh, but lvling 20% of a lvl 6x toon and some fooling around on a lvl 2x toon, one raid boss, and from what it sounds like a 2 man gank is not accomplishing anything. Not in L2 it's not. Gathering your clan/ally and raiding 5+ bosses, then lvling for 4+ hours after that is getting things done.
Do be anything in L2 you needed to outfit your clan/ally in top gear, boss jewels, and get the key classes the lvls they needed so you max your damage output.
I didn't know anything about Warhammer lore until I got the game. It's all in the game. The only lore I knew about l2 was the stuff I read on lineage2.com months after playing the game.
You are referring to scenarios when you say quake-style gameplay. T4 is where it's at. War has lots of end-game which doesn't take 1+ year plus to get to.
I like War you like L2. Both games good, but right now War is better imho! -
I've been playing this game since headstart (pre-ordered it) and have a rank 20 shaman healer on the EU server Karak Azgal (Diabolas). The game actually got more fun overtime, when my guild started to do some more things together and I started to "get" the overall structure of the game.
I think this game really does PvP very well. Its implemented very well with plenty of incentive to participate at any level of the game.
I hope it will become even more entertaining once my guild will start doing even more open world RvR -
I've been playing it a lot over the weekend, I really like it, It runs pretty good on my 7811.
So far I tried out just about every class except the shaman, orc warrior, and the engineer class.
They all are pretty impressive, and I like how just about anything gives you exp.
Scenarios are really the best way to level, You can do a scenario and turn in the quest for it repeatedly. Not only that, you can do some quests while you wait on your scenario to start.
it's pretty sweet.
I'm kinda hooked on playing a Zealot.
I do wanna try out the Witch Elf class some more, it seems modeled after the rogue class from WoW.
anyway, brb class. -
Picked this up over the weekend and I really do enjoy this game. This game rocks for people who like to PVP, such as myself. The graphics kinda suck for an '08 game but the gameplay well makes up for it. Plus with less detailed graphics the game runs super smooth completely maxed which is good too.
I do wish the combat was more challenging though. For me the targeting system is very very dumbed down, well beyond what WoW had... Your character automatically turns towards the opponent by mashing a button. At least in WoW you had to physically turn in the correct direction to make a hit. Seems like they implemented this change to make it easier for people with slow reflexes. I really dislike that aspect but I'll learn to live with that major flaw. Hasn't really been hurting me too much since I've been finishing in the top 5 in Khaines Wrath for renoun and kills, usually topping the damage meter since level 6.. Now a level 10 Witch Elf, level 9 renoun, playing on the Chaos Wastes - Open RVR-RP server.
The morale system, renoun, RVR, and public quests are top notch ideas to keep people interested. I don't care too much for PVE but I'll probably dabble in it later on in levels since I am paying for everything in this game. -
Roll on Praag server. It's a great time. It's Open PVP, where a lvl 20 CAN attack a lvl 9 or so, it does happen on occasion yes, but not so much as you may think.
Yes, a good guild is a huge benefit. If you are still looking for a guild, go to your respective forum on Warhammer alliance, and check your server forum for guild recruitment.
With Praag, playing Order, I have 0 que for login, almost immediate scenerio ques, and the ratio is very good, with both sides having some good skilled players. -

I think someone didn't bother to read the NPC speech when playing L2.
And quite franky, some grind is better than the "instantly max level with epic gear in a few hours" of WoW. (L2 used to be WAY too much, but they fixed it.)
One thing WH got right... levelling the character's rank is a fine pace... and the renown is the grind. Rank 40 is easy enough to get (many 40's already) but high-end renown is not easy to come by.
BTW, WH's uber-classes are anything melee-damage-dealing.
There is little point in playing anything else.
Feels just like wow or L2 at release... you can't even die without hitting 4-5 witch elves or shadow warriors on the way down.
My friend really wants me to play... and I have fun when I am with him, but have no motivation to play outside of sitting on his couch with beers and PvPing.
If only I cared for the world.
Maybe if I played a class I liked.
I refuse to play witch elf or shadow warrior (flavor-of-the-month classes) anything fun in the heal/support department? -
I really like playing Zealot, so far my Zealot is level 8 on Volkemar, his name is Sypha.
I love running behind enemy lines in Scenarios and healing myself like a moron, letting them all try to kill me.
Zealot is really fun if you like to heal.
the Morale ability that I just unlocked at level 8 is really nice.
Healing others is kind of an unappreciated job though in the game.
Other players only say something when you DON'T heal.
I like to mix it up, I primarily heal, but I will do some damage as well when there's opportunities.
I'm really having fun with this game, and doing the Nordenwatch Scenario over and over isn't really boring at all, each battle feels like a fresh one, and each battle isn't really the same as the one before that, other than Destruction winning a majority of them.
I seem to notice that Destruction rolls more healers than Order, that could probably be a reason that Destruction wins a lot, at least on Volkemar. -
Anyway either way you go I think both are good games in there seperate ways.
I know all about the RR80 is going to be grinding. Though you don't need to be that to compete efficiently. It will make a difference, but not one that skill and good teamwork can't overcome.
Ohhh and another thing L2 is plagued by farmers, where WH is not and will not be.
Thanks for keeping it cordial btw! -
If Order is your thing than I have to say Ironbreaker is a blast to play. It really is.
