Classes in WAR are not balanced like your typical mmo. Some classes are just better at killing other classes, you have to uses your strengths to your advantage. Team work is invaluable. No matter what class you are, if you are singled out in RvR, you are dead. Work with your team and you will be unstoppable (if the team is working with you too).

Honestly that holds true in all MMO's in my experience.

The caster can kill the armored guy from afar but does not stand a chance up close, the ranged guy owns the casters but cant touch the tanks or high armored dps.

Its true that WAR is a group pvp game and its not supposed to be balanced for 1v1, but I feel they use that as an excuse just a bit too much because there has to be balance in group pvp too.

Hey, looked around the site for an answer and couldnt find one. Im using a blackhawk xr5 8800m gtx sli playin war and have poor performance during seiges..around 10-20 fps...and in dungeons..everywhere else seems to be fine..also i ctd constantly if i max my settings. ive treid narrowing it down by only upping one setting at a time but i cant seem to find the prob. im using the drivers the company gave me. 7.15.11.7433 forceware 174.33. not sure what else you would need to troubleshoot. I would try new drivers but im not sure wich to use considering there arent any new ones for mine. thx

SLI is not supported in War. You will get no performance benefit out of it. Simply turn it off and you will probably fix a lot of the problems.

Hrm, I am using 7.15.11.7490 which I believe I downloaded directly from Sager and I have had no problems at all running at max settings. Since we have the same lappy, they should work just fine. If not, you can go to Laptopvideo2go and experiment some newer versions. Be sure to read up on em first.

i thought it was supported? ill have to look around for a def answer from mythic on that...but ill disable sli for now to see how it works...such a shame to not use it :(

ashveratu: do u use sli? ill have to try those drivers as well..question is how do i install them? do i gotta do something with an inf file to get it to allow?

**UPDATE** well it seems that turning off Sli worked heh...kinda odd considering several of my guildies run sli and the game performs flawless according to them..still have yet to test it during a siege but ill do that once i get 34 and can get RP again :) YAY thx u guys rock.

I tried it with a friend's account on my T7100 and 8700m GT... it ran just fine with everything and the kitchen sink on at 1440x900... note this was in tier 1...

With an 8800m GTS, I don't see how you will have any issues...

Note the servers have SERVER-SIDE lag in large-scale PvP, but I doubt the 1-step-above-WoW graphics will even tickle your 8800 GTS.

Well i finally did a siege and the FPS is in the low teens still :( i dont crash as often but i do still crash sometimes. I guess ill try drivers next..really annoying...if anyone else out there has 8800m GTX ..if you could run down ur nvidia profiler settings that would help. (if ur game runs good at max seetings with 1920x1200) thx

I just ran 3dmark06 and it went through all the tests pretty good except the cpu one..it stuttered horribly and only did about 2fps..my score was 12593...wich i guess is really low considering they say 33945 is the fastest...i hate computers.

The CPU test will always stutter and get around 2fps. 12k for 3dmark is really good for a laptop.

Warhammer should run great with your 8800m GTX sli. I run it fine with an 8600 DDR3. I can't max everything, but I can get most things up pretty high. Try turning off shadows, download buffthrottle, maybe limit the spell effects to your party. Play with the graphical settings, some will cause more problems than other, but you should have little issue with everything on high.

I'm having a great time with warhammer!!! i have a 20/19 warrior priest and 14/13 witch hunter. Both are great classes, but i've been on the warrior priest for a change because i almost always play a light armored DPS class. It's great! you just gotta us your char's strengths. Like they said i don't think any class can do a whole lot solo, but if you play into the groups strategy every class is a strong class! Being a more RvR (PvP) consintrated game it requires a lot more player tactics than just "click and sit" like many other mmo's. You have to react to other PLAYERS actions rather than know what a monster will do and when it will do it. havn't made it to tier 4 yet so i don't know of the balance issues that high up but so far so good in the bottom three. Although it is typical for a bright mage to be topping the charts on scenarios...

Edit: so far everything max 1920X1200 typically get 50-60 fps sometimes at the beginning of a scenario drop 20-30 then goes back up. can't wait see how the 7811 handles tier 4 sieges!

Um the graphics are slightly better on paper, more poly and stuff but they are far from AWESOME. Heck its worse than WoW when it comes to overall design, terrain, and textures/colors.

WoW simply is more visually appealing despite the lower poly count.

Age of Conan is where the best MMO graphics are right now probably, again on paper and each person will have there own opinion.

If your not having fun in WAR then your not in a good guild... That's all there is to it! get a good guild that does tons of open RvR and you will have a blast! Theres nothing better then driving 30+ guys back from a keep with 15 or so guys then bursting out the front gates to pick off the straglers and celebrate!!!

I just bought an Alienware M17 with the ATI Radeon HD 3870. I'm running with my Dell 2405 as the second monitor, it is set to 1920x1200. I'm trying to get Warhammer: Online to run on the Dell vs. the Laptop monitor, but the best I can get is 1680x1050. Everytime I make a video setting, WAR goes back to "display #1" which is my laptop. I am using windowed mode.

If I set WAR to 1920x1200, windowed, show frames, then it pops over to display #1 and I cant see the frames or click "move" to move it to the 2nd (Dell) monitor! Any suggestions on how to force WAR to the 2nd monitor (Dell) at full resolution?

sounds like you gotta change the settings in your nvidia control pannel. i forget exactly what it's called but you gotta make the displays an extension of your desktop not mirrors and designate the one you wanna play on as the main display. i play with two external monitors with the game window'ed on my 22" monitor and use the other external for hardware monitoring programs and internet, and vent. =)

yeah, that's what I have been able to get now, so at least I can play WAR at full resolution on the big monitor. Then I just extended the desktop to my laptop and moved the windows I want to keep an eye on (mail, firefox, etc) to the "2nd monitor". Any way I can move the windows toolbar to the 2nd monitor?

oooh, never mind, I just figured it out! lol drag-n-drop.

and then set display profiles for whether I'm 1 display at work or plugged in @ home :) cool. I'm figuring this windows crap out!
