Suggestion: Sticky this topic, and take down that archaic topic on updating drivers.
The PR teaser says 2010, so I hope that means early 2010. Someone pointed out that the three skulls is the "sign of the Nurgle Death Guard", which is awesome.
What are you talking about, the console versions? Members of the Glorious PC Master Race play at whatever resolution we want.

    Update on the SCII thing.

This does not bode well for fans that only want to focus on the multiplayer or just don't want to spend 3 games worth of money on SCII.

    What usually looks better.
A game running at 1920x1200 med-high settings no AA or other filtering.
Or at 1600x1200 with high and AA and high filtering?

Poor "Next-Gen" Consoles. Not to sound smug, but that's a terribly low resolution.

Well then.. I apologize for my mistake.

That's some disgusting milking on Blizzard's part. How do you balance the game, when different players have different units? If I stick with the vanilla box, will the guy will the third campaign box steamroll me with new units?

That almost makes me queasy. Does anyone else feel as though because of the console's limitations, and companies yearning to produce games that are easy to port to console (make more money), we get a lower quality game for the PC? I'm afraid that when crysis 2 comes out, it could possibly be limited in certain aspects just to make it simple to port to console?

The listed system requirements for any game are completely unreliable anyways. You'll have to wait and ask someone who has played a beta or for a demo to come out.

I have a couple short questions.

Does Crysis: Warhead run more or less efficiently than the original Crysis? IE on the same graphics settings which would have better FPS?

Have they patched up the glitches in the PC version of Mercenaries 2?

The major limitation would be a simplified interface in the advanced graphics section. That does not means those options are bad, just that they are limited.

It's console -> PC ports that get the shaft in the graphics efficiency/options area, most games that were designed from the ground up to run on a PC are just fine whether or not they have a console version.

I still play those on my Windows 7 X64 install with no issues at all. There are quite a few good mods for that one, particularly Progen. I am still waiting for Tiberian Sun rising C&C3 mod to be out, that just looks great.

Silly question. Is it possible to link D2D games to your Steam account (like when you buy a boxed game and link it)?

Well I know you can at least add a shortcut of any game installed on your computer to steam's games window BUT that doesn't mean you'll have steam in-game or be able to download it via steam. If you're talking about a game that is on steam that you bought through D2D...well I don't really know.

I still play! Want to play a few rounds sometimes? I'm terrible at online play, I prefer comp stomps :p

I wish I could download games off D2D or steam for free and use the cd-keys from my boxed copies to play them, would save me the trouble of having to torrent the ISOs when I lose a disc (thankfully I am pretty good about keeping track of the keys).

Then you should make a habit of creating disc images for all the games you buy. Much safer and more reliable than torrenting.

I'm guilty of the same thing, I often find myself pondering how legal it is too XD I mean you own a copy of the game, you've just lost your CD. I've made a habit of saving all my .isos of games I have to an old hard drive I have sitting around.

Eh, I don't have the hard drive space (laptop, of course) to save every one of my games preemptively, and burning them onto dvds would cost extra time and money, especially since most of the recent ones would need a dual layer dvd to fit all on one disc.

Tip: The first time you play the ODST campaign make sure it's in a dark room on a big TV with an awesome sound system and no distractions (that also means not coop for most people).

    TS2?

It takes so long because the maps are huge, and there's a LOT of textures to load. On top of that no one ever claimed BF2 was the best optimized game ever :D. With the rig you have in your sig, I'd suggest going with 4gb of ram instead of 2, probably the best way to decrease map load times.

Faster hard drive will reduce pre-game map loads more so than RAM.

I thought about that too but he already has a 7200rpm drive, and notebook drives that are greater than that tend to be quiet a bit of money. Take into acount he is only using 2gb on vista (well I assume on vista) bf2 OVERALL will see a performance boost. General rule of thumb, load times are related to hard drive speed, but bf2 is very memory intensive and my guess is that's where his first bottleneck is.

    No problem AlyH :p
