I had my doubts about the performace which this computer would be able to offer, hence the first purchase. I'm glad i decided to see if grass is greener on the other side of the fence.![]()
I tend to use oils when possible, i think it's a part of the lore though usually it's tedious to scroll my 15 piece oil list for the right oil versus each enemy. Would like to be able to craft more decoctions, so far i only have griffin and wraith decoctions.
UI is a piece of s**t, because of the consoles. It's better than in W2 IMO.
Bombs are nice, i had some trouble (i was underlvl) with a witcher contract near Crookbag bog where there's a strong foglet with a human name in a cave until i tried my newest bomb Northern Wind. Threw it and one-shotted the thing while it was frozen! Didn't really expect that, maybe it was a crit but i'm not shure. This will need additional testing.

You know what...I love how much you love this game, if that makes any sense. That gamer joy is infectious and is what good gaming is all about. Rather than buying and backlogging TW3, I plan to purchase it closer to Christmas when they've exhausted their patch stamina on it. My backlog is not massive compared to some I've seen, but it has to shed some pounds before I get immersed in this behemoth (HTWingNut's giveaway kindly added some weight on there too; ex. Dying Light).killkenny1 likes this.

I really do love the game, even if it's full of bugs.
Just today I've encountered a bug in Skellige's Most Wanted quest. Apparently it wasn't there pre 1,07, but CDPR decided to include that new feature to the quest.
The best thing is definitely to wait until the game is (almost) fully patched, either by devs or community. -
Re-playing the game with the 1.08 patch, I could swear there is a few things I couldn't do before. Like for one I feel like the ride with the witch through the woods on the two white horses is longer than it used to be.

"Alcohol is witcher's worst enemy!"
No Place Like Home - very nice quest. Calm before the storm so to speak. Too many lulzy moments ("summon the *****es!"
). And then after that, act ended. Now I must hurry, and get to Ciri before Wild Hunt does...right after I complete these 15 monster contracts and treasure hunts...

Details about game quests or the storyline in general, however minor - yeah, they're spoilers. It's like sayingand not accepting that as a spoiler. So technically the list of fixed bugs that CDPR releases for patches are spoilers too, and many news sites warn so, quite rightly.'Harry becomes Quidditch Captain in Half-Blood Prince'
P.S. spoiler tags used for the sake of people who haven't read Harry Potter. -

Who's Harry?
Sorry, didn't realize that. Though it is still implied a lot throughout the game that at some point you'll visit your home.

Point taken. Myself I usually don't care about spoilers, but gotta respect others around me.
Anyway, I leveled up like crazy today, from 26 to 30. Two times, well more like 1 1/4, during a certain battle (which was eeeeeeesay, and comparing with a quest afterwards was a complete walk in the park), and then some during a few other main/secondary quests. This game has an interesting level up system. Sometimes it will just "give" you a level up if the next main quest requires higher level. -

Hey pals well finally the things I mentioned earlier have happened and happened in the way I imagined. CD Projekt Red released an official mod kit and unlike the ones before this one allows options to change many things other than maps even supporting character meshes just like what I asked for way early on in this thread. Now when I have some time I'll either join a modding team via skype and/or create some on my own.

Well no, I didn't mean to send her to the glue factory (though I really wished I could do that a good few times), just make her spaz out less. I think you just tend to get a lot more experience completing the main quest (relative to side quests). I was holding off on the last parts of the main quest and in the low 20's having finished most side quests, but I kept reading about people finishing the game around 35ish and couldn't figure it out. I found the same thing when I was first starting in Velen and sitting around level 6. Side quests gave me very little, but I jumped really quickly after doing the main story quests.killkenny1 said: ↑Anyway, I leveled up like crazy today, from 26 to 30. WARNING: You might not survive to the end of this post!
Not really. I did some level 14 main quests while being level 24 or so and didn't get much exp. You usually get little exp once above recommended quest level. Recently I did a level 30 side quest (very cool one which also determines what kind of ending you will get) at level 29 and by the end of it I got level up. So main or side quest it doesn't necessary mean you get a certain amount of exp. Heck, I've cleared some monster nests and got more exp than for some main quests.
That's why everyone recommends doing quests for your current level to get best number of exp. Unfortunately I couldn't do it. I needed to explore everything I could before moving on to next location.
I looked online for how far I am, and by the looks of it I'm only few main quests away from the end. I'm currently level 30, got few more secondary quests, contracts, and treasure hunts, so yeah, 35 sounds about right.
I do hope I will be high enough level to be able to wear that fancy mastercrafted Griffon armour before the end.Last edited: Aug 14, 2015 -

I dunno, guys - the Witcher series hasn't really come across as very moddable in general. I feel there isn't enough leeway like there is in Skyrim, where the core game (plus DLC) isn't exactly long nor immersive, hence leaving lots of room to mod the game, and add really strange things, as well as to completely overhaul the levelling, monsters, main character, followers and NPC.
With TW3 and The Witcher in general, I feel the devs have made a game that is more tweak-friendly than overhaul-friendly. To elaborate - it's going to be ridiculously hard to weave a large side-quest to fit the world without being jarringly different, or at least, noticeable. Tweaks include graphics and textures, meshes, slight facial changes. But then the game itself doesn't change.
I don't doubt the capability of modders when they've made epic stuff like Portal Stories: Mel or Garry's Mod or the innumerable number of mods for Skyrim and such, but I honestly think TW3 isn't particularly open like TES or FO is.
Just my tuppence - feel free to disagree and discuss, guys.Last edited: Aug 15, 2015killkenny1 likes this. -

I agree that immersion-wise TW for me feels better and more complete than TES, but let's just see what community can come up with.
I'm pretty sure we will get environmental mods (i.e. textures, sounds, etc.). There are already some gameplay mods, so with released modkit they might get even more complex and in depth. New armours and/or scavenger hunts shouldn't be a problem as well. And of course if CDPR fails to fix the game, hopefully there might be a sort of unofficial patch as well. I also hope someone will fix Roach. Horses in Skyrim were crap too, that is until you install Convenient Horses. It's one of my must have mods for Skyrim. -
Apparently there's new patch. (Available at GOG ( 4GB))
Patch 1.08.1 (14.08.2015)
- Introduces a retro-active fix to some of the achievements that were amended in the patch 1.08.
- Adds sources for scripts (mod support).

Some guy uploaded folder contents of that quest and it was just a simple copy-paste job. After that everything worked nicely.

But yeah, I too have too much useless crap in my inventory, though when I upgrade my stuff I usually have all the necessary ingredients.
Anyway, I found a couple of interesting mods (map zoom and iHUD), so I think I'll DL that patch.
It actually shows 4GB DL on GOG, so no biggy. -

So there has been released another patch for the game (1.08.2 2,1GB) along with final piece of DLC - New Game Plus mode.
Too bad I won't be able to enjoy NG+ mode, because next time I'll be replaying TW3 it's gonna be after I finish TW2. Though it will be very difficult for me to play TW2 after TW3...
Now to leave you all with a screenshot - another day, another Witcher contract.

A few quest names and "top secret" scavenger hunt quest log. Who might have though, Geralt finds a couple of diagrams...
So, Roach can swim after all, even dive...
She certainly made a fool out of Geralt. All this time he though his horse can't swim, but apparently she was doing it all the time behind his back.
