I know but the game could be polished a bit more. Plus, what's the point of a GOTY edition if it's just the game, DLC's, and expansions bundled together?

well, by more content, I meant maybe they could change/improve things so it might worth another playthrough or paying some more.

Just launched the game and noticed that I've lost about 25 fps (so from ~75 to ~50) using same settings as before. Looks like a driver issue for me, but could it be some previous patch between 1.22 and 1.31? Has anyone been playing recently?

Thank you for your reply. Checked my stats, i'm sitting on 50% gpu load for both GPUs. So I don't think it's the game.

/Edit Ok, fixed it. Some combination of Vsync settings in-game and in Nvidia control panel was causing lower FPS. Looks like the better way is to enable vsync in control panel.

if you like riding horse, you'll like this game.

(sometimes the horse suddenly stops though but it's okay. She can walk on her hind legs, really fast, too)

Also some of the most satisfying swordplay I ever experienced. Tried to go sign build for my 3rd playthrough but dodging stuff (quen is for pussies) and slicing enemies to pieces never gets old.

Yeah, Roach's behavior can sometimes be a bit weird. I do like how horse handles tho. And those sudden stops can most of the time be explained (i.e. trying to turn very sharply).

Been playing for a few months now. Best single player game I've ever run in to. The production, man ... the voice acting ... the fact that every single side quest/contract I've been on has played no differently in content/scope and entertainment than does the main story line. Honestly, having played 2 decades worth of RPG's? Witcher 3 is really something ... it boggles my mind every time I play it ... I mean, how in the world did they tie all that together so perfectly. I think I like the cut scenes as much as actually playing ... LOL ... it can be so hilarious ... some friends at Overclock.net have referred to W3 as more so an "interactive novel" ... or "interactive movie" ... more than it is a traditional/typical RPG ...

Tried Witcher 1 and Witcher 2 and didnt' last more than a few days ... Witcher 3 is a whole different story ...

I'm currently at 100 hours and am just now reaching the part of the main story line where you do something or other about a "Sunstone" ... LOL ... spent a gazillion hours on side quests and still have a ton to do ...

I'm terrified that it's going to end too soon. LMFAO!!@ ... but then there are the DLC's ...

    ...

Do yourself a favor ... if you haven't played it, wait until you can play it on gear that gets you solid FPS cause the open world is freakishly gorgeous on max settings ...

    ...

(oh yeah ... hottest <and hippest> and most *bad ass* video game chicks EVER ... I'm just pissed that I wasn't able to get with Phillipa ... something about them damaged eyes and the boobs are just driving me nuts) ...

    ...

    ...

    (sigh)

    Oh ... teh tears ... LOL ...

    careful, she will cut your

    throat

    if you ever betray her.

//did they ever fix Roach's mane and tail bug? My Road is still missing her mane and I've to switch to a Toussaint horse armour which cover the mane then switch back whatever armour I'm using to make her mane appear everytime I change map/load a save. My game has some broken mods maybe that's why? o_O

That said, sadly, I think I'm past the point where I can go the Phillipa route (but I still cling to hope!!!)

I played this game for about 30 minutes. was fun but I fear my gaming days are numbered as I have a hard time keeping entertained for long periods of time now. Anyone else having the same issue?

Also Can someone tell me how many hours the witcher is if you rush through it? and is the story good?

my first run was ~70h. I didn't do all the side quests and point of interest. Tbh though, what makes me like this game the most is the side quests, they're short but very interesting.

if you're bored, just running around enjoying the scenery and do whatever you encounter. I'd say main story is good but sometimes it annoys me since there were so many characters I didn't know about but Geralt knows so it was hard to make connection and role-play.

I have 182 hours in it. That's doing a TON of side content, except for Gwent which I hardly touched except for what was required to move quests. I do like the Gwent stand-alone game though.

As far as story, the game has some of the best story content of any open-world RPG. Even the side quests are rich experiences in most cases. The two expansions are very-well done and in some ways slightly exceed the already stellar base game, especially Blood & Wine.

You could probably get through it in much less time by ignoring a bit of the side collectible stuff like the witcher gear quests and things like that. I definitely wouldn't pass this game up if you like RPGs. It's an excellent game, and a MASTER CLASS in open-world RPGs. The bar was raised. Bethesda has some tough competition when they get around to Elder Scrolls VI. They should be thanking CDPR for doing Cyberpunk 2077 next instead of doing another dark/high fantasy game world.

My single walkthrough so far lasted about 400h hours (with addons). But that's with my playstyle. I tried to be as throughout as possible.
This site, however, gives a good estimate on average game beating times with various playstiles:

    I almost cried...

I started the game up again (this time on Steam, previous runs were with GOG install)... I can easily see how you can rack up hundreds of hours. So much roaming and open world and characters. So many quests at one time to consider, not to mention potions and crafting. Gah, it's almost too overwhelming for my feeble mind.

one of the things i found hardest to cope with in regards to the game was the shear amount of stuff to do........i kept getting sidetracked killed world bosses, side-quests etc, and then when i finally got around to doing main story it was all trivial, i really wish they had a sliding scale so the game was challenging when you out-levelled content, especially main story stuff.

Well that's just it. I don't know what I should and shouldn't be doing and what effects doing one side quest or main quest does to the other quests. Does it cancel out other quests? Will I miss out on good loot if I ignore certain ones?

No it won't cancel but some side quest are related to main quest that you need to do first in order for the main to be completed. The thing that I noticed is that some side quest will be send directly to "failed quest" if I don't do it before I reach certain stage in the main quest.

By the way the only thing that I intentionally skipped are the the ones that involved gwent cards lol . I hate it!

Nope, this is something devs did themselves, for fun.
There is however a similar mod on The Witcher 3 Nexus, tho not as cool as the devs made on, which I wish thy would have included.
